Mini-Walrus

I don't know who invented Walrus. IBD gave it CPR recently.

Feed me good music to win.

I think I'm offended by 2025 music cuz it's the world passing me by

I can’t fully express how much I hate this category.

Would I know about it if the mustake was me?

Yes you would.

I was referring to Amplify, who accidentally submitted the same youtube link for two categories. It's been fixed.

Boy the one that got left off is the hammer too

Unless somebody re-submits, it's going to be very difficult for you to come in either first or last for that category.

I’m in this biz

Had something unexpected (nothing bad, just higher priority than revealing this) this morning. I could pump out a reveal right now, but it would feel very half-assed and I don't want to do that, especially since I need to get the order of the middling songs right.

Should have time this evening to do the first category properly.

take your time!

good luck with your other thing

I mean wtf?! are you ****ing kidding me!

we want a reveal right now! how dare you!

Helpful hint for those having trouble with a song from 2025.

Okay I'm ready to start this I think.

9 entrants, so just gonna steal IBD's scoring system.

by IBeDrummin m

Scoring System:
1st - 12 points
2nd - 10 points
3rd - 8 points
4th - 6 points
5th - 5 points
6th - 4 points
7th - 3 points
8th - 2 points
9th - 1 point

A song that I've forgotten about but will make me feel nostalgic

Grading on three criteria:
1) How much it fits the category
2) How I felt about the song then
3) How I feel about the song now

(These aren't equal - 1 and 3 are much more important than 2. I just want to give you a idea of how I'm feeling.)

woop! woop!

In 9th place (1 point):

I don't want to say this is a complete category fail, but it's close. It's about a decade too early and it's gotten way too much play on the radio and in movies and commercials that there's no way I've forgotten about it. It's a decent song, but that's not enough here.

Nostalgia: 3/10
Feelings then: 5/10
Feelings now: 7/10

Amplify submits Modern English - I Melt With You

In 8th place (2 points):

A little more popular than I would have liked, but this low ranking is a little bit of bad luck too. I just never really liked this song even though it's reasonable to think I might. The droning spoken word verses don't do anything for me. My memories are mostly of it being absurdly overplayed. And I've heard it a bunch over the years so I definitely haven't forgotten about it.

BTW, had you submitted "Who Was In My Room Last Night", that would have podiumed.

Nostalgia: 6/10
Feelings then: 5/10
Feelings now: 6/10

I don't mind the low showing, but the Modern English link on my submission bums me out.

Pasting fail. My bad.

so you're nostalgic over things from the nineteen nineties? how quaint.

In 7th place (3 points):

4th through 7th are extremely close, so more bad luck for getting on the anti-podium with this.

One of the better songs from this artist, who have a fair amount of goober-ish songs that annoy me. Live performance from Conan was submitted for some reason. I will say it's a well done performance.

Still a bit too ubiquitous to really bring back a ton of nostalgia. And the song doesn't get above decent for me to rate it any higher.

Nostalgia: 6/10
Feelings then: 8/10
Feelings now: 7/10

It's when I was in high school and college. Of course.

Plus I didn't exactly hide what I was looking for.

Category Notes:
1) Mid 1990s to early 2000s is your best bet here, but other years might be possible. Don't give me something I've heard a thousand times before; I'd rather have something from that era that I've never heard before. Of course best of all would be something that makes me think "Wow, I haven't heard that in 20+ years. I used to love that song."

by eyebooger m

I'm not complaining, I'm just autistic.

I'd rather have something from that era that I've never heard before.

wait how could you be nostalgic for something you've never heard before

now I'm complaining, round invalidated, sorry
