2020 MLS Cup Odds:

CONCACAF Champions League Bracket:

Biggest Departues:
Nacho Piatti from Impact to San Lorenzo
ZLATAN from LA Galaxy to AC Milan
Wayne Rooney from DC to Derby County
Brian Fernández from Portland to jail (I think)
Nico Gaitán from Chicago to Ligue 1 side Lille
NEW Players (w/summaries just for 72o):
Chicharito to LA Galaxy (age: 31) - needs no introduction. All time leader for El Tri (México) w/51 goals. Broke in w/Man Utd, notching 3 straight 10+ goal seasons, more recently bagged 16 goals in 55 matches for Westham, and comes to LAG from Sevilla.
Claudio Pizarro to Inter Miami (age: 25) - another fairly important piece for El Tri where he has 23 caps. Comes from los Rayados where he's already won a few titles in only a couple seasons. Although probably not a top 3 player for Monterrey, they'll be glad to part with him for the 20 million price tag Inter Miami agreed to pay. When he's on he's very good, but he's also very inconsistent. Should dominate in MLS though imo.
Jürgen Locadia to Cincinnati (age: 26) - IMO, the most interesting signing. Notable in that he's the only player in the top 8 most valuable MLS players who doesn't play in LA or ATL. I'm still not sure how Cincy pulled this off. Big time goalscorer w/45 in 127 matches for PSV Eindhoven. He's be a golden boot frontrunner if he played for a better team.
Mauricio Pereyra to Orlando (age: 29) - Uruguayan attacking mid comes from Russian side Krasnodar w/23 goals in 154 appearances. Caps w/Uruguay's U20s but never made an appearance for the nat'l team.
Alan Pulido to Sporting KC (age: 28) - The Mexican isn't really in the nat'l team picture anymore, but is coming off a great season for Mexican giants Chivas where he finished as joint golden boot winner.
Robert Beric to Chicago (age: 28) - 25 caps with Slovenia and comes from Ligue 1 side Sainte-Étienne w/a pretty solid goal scoring record, 26 goals in 81 matches over 5 seasons.
Lucas Zelarayán to Columbus Crew (age: 27) - The Argentine attacking midfielder has been a key player for Liga MX's best side in recent years, Tigres, with 113 appearances and 21 goals over 5 seasons.
Edison Flores to DC United (age: 25) - Yet another player from Liga MX. The Peruvian winger has been a stalwart for their national team with 13 goals in 47 appearances and was a regular for Morelia over the past 2 seasons.
Felipe Mora to Portland (age: 26) - Wildly inconsistent, but can bang in goals when he's on. Comes from Liga MX's Pumas.
Lucas Cavallini to Puebla (age: 27) - Has been great for Canada w/11 goals in only 17 apps. Another player from Liga MX (Puebla) w/ a very respectable 29 goals in 75 matches for a Liga MX bottom feeder side that doesn't score often.
Luis Binks to MONTRÉAL (age: 19) - Comes from Tottenham's academy thanks to Thierry Henry's connections. Supposedly Tottenham's 2nd best young CB.
Intra-league Moves:
DARWIN from Minnesota to Houston
Walker Zimmerman from LAFC to Nashville
Wil Trapp from Columbus to Inter Miami
Katai from Chicago to LAG
Nagbe from ATL to Columbus
Gressel from ATL to DCU
Romell Quioto from Houston to IMFC
idk man, this would look pretty sick up there

well that's a first for me, tijuana keeper stretchered off after taking a shot to the dome. didn't think it was really possible to injure someone with a soccer ball
and now they're subbing on a guy who appears to be wearing #203? wut
mexican football, man
many more games today:
atlanta v santos laguna - already underway
orlando v san luis
pachuca v toronto
philadelphia v cruz azul
st. louis v juarez
guadalajara chivas v la galaxy - los angeles derby! (chivas fans turn up)
seattle v necaxa
PUMAS! Too EZ
lol that was quite a result for dynamo.
up 2-1 at home vs a not very good toluca and they have 2 goals disallowed then dude just completely dogs a breakaway like hey who cares so obv they give up the equalizer on last play of stoppage then get eliminated in the shoot out.
fantastic performance.
Liga MX has actually been pretty impressive with 38% of the teams in the competition and 38% of the R16 participants, considering the entire thing is home matches for MLS.
It's a bit challenging taking the thing seriously considering the latter. A Liga MX/MLS Super League would be kinda sick though. Just take the top 4 or 5 (or even 8?) from each and have them play a home/home round robin in lieu of CCL and Leagues Cup. I can't take these half assed Mickey Mouse Cups seriously.
ya that's a way better idea
does anyone really care about this thing? do mexicans? doesn't seem to have any buzz from what i can tell. obviously it only exists because apple demanded it, the euro super league version of ccl; they control it and get all the money. i assume they're using it as an attempt to kill ccl the same way they're trying to kill the us open cup, even though it's probably not possible to kill either. these vampires are the ****ing worst.
the only good thing about this is the much needed 2 weeks off with ryan gauld injured lol
there's been rumor of a ligamx/mls merger for a while - hence why mx has put a pause on relegation/promotion and the top teams pay a fee to the lower teams as a result
idk why mexico are doing whatever they're doing, but i really don't see any kind of merger happening
Just a pure money grab by the higher ups. Almost all the fans seem to hate Leagues Cup (CCL is more mixed). They want Libertadores back, pro/rel, playing requirements for Mexican nationals, and for more selling of players to Europe. Right now it can be a PITA to get released for Europe for many players. The complacency explains why the national team is going to ****.
OK, I take back my previous comment, lol. Liga MX about to lose every single R16 match if América doesn't come back, except for the matchup between 2 LMX teams. Even that one, Cruz Azul, who is decent, fell to LMX's worst team Mazatlán. So they'll prob be easily dispatched in the quarters. Basically Leagues Cup has become a pointless in-season MLS tourney now.
Spoke too soon, América with the comeback, 3 goals late! Thread legend B-Rod with a brace. América about to ship this whole thing.
quarterfinals on saturday, the 17th
colorado v america (in california, for some reason)
lafc @ seattle
mazatlan @ philadelphia
nycfc @ columbus
I think the Club America match is supposed to be a "home" match for them due to higher seeding. Which it probably will be fan-wise.
there is still a chance for this to be an all Liga-MX final. I still have the utmost faith in MLS to bring the LOLs and let this happen.
Last match was STL vs América in Carson and it was dead silent for STL and fairly raucous for América, so that should be a home match for them.
Mazatlán currently has 1 pt from 4 matches in Liga MX, I'm shocked they've gotten this far. Normally I'd say Philly should take care of them easily, but they're not as strong as they usually are.
lmao how on earth did mazatlan make it this far?
go up a man and then immediately conceed and show absolutely zero hope of scoring up a man for over a full half.
All MLS the rest of the way baby!!!
I just hope that Pochettino is paying attention to how awesome the USA MLS players are and will have a bunch of them starting in USA#1's next batch of qualifying matches!
MLS guys know how to WIN in high pressure situations like Leagues Cup. Poch needs these guys.
Mazatlán was who we thought they were. Handed the win on a platter and, judging by the highlights, they generated almost no chances from open play while up a man over half the match.
montreal losing 5-0 at home to dc united was not something I had ever envisioned
revs*
which seems way worse, mostly because they don't have goateke
ah, s**t, New England yes my bad!
Still two sh**ty teams that I would have never expected to win 5-0 at montreal.
where you at fossilkid? u have some 'plaining to do with this and the Florida St. result!
