Rose is a pedophile who spent years betting on baseball and never showed remorse.

I'd let every steroid user in the Hall before Rose.

Whatever your thoughts on Rose being in the HOF, waiting til he’s dead to let him in the HOF is an undeniably chickenshit move by a clown

Tigers are on pace for 106.77 wins.

313!!!!

Some Koufax facts I got out of a video the other night:

Birth name: Sanford Braun (I never knew that)
Played hoops at UC where he was a skywalking slammer jammer apparently
He pitched the last inning for the Brooklyn Dodgers, 9th inning relief in 1956
He pitched the last inning for the L.A. Dodgers in L.A. Coliseum (waiting for Chavez Ravine to open)
Not sure if he pitched the first inning in Chavez (probably Drysdale)
On top of the well-known arthritis in the elbow, he had Raynaud's in a finger of left hand and almost lost the finger
He pitched an immaculate inning in a no-hitter (anybody else ever do that?)
3 total immaculate innings in his career (tied with Scherzer and Sale)
He pitched a perfect game
It looked like he had a bit of an odd arm position in his delivery, maybe contributing to being so unhittable

This is a great interview with Rose that I saw a few years ago and then joined the "let him in" club. It shows a lot of endearing humanity, some great candor and directness, and some great disingenuousness and scum bag stuff. I came away with a very humanized view of him, though a little of it is scummy.

Early on he says he hit .330 in back-to-back years in the minors to earn his way up. Knowing he's a fiend for stats, I looked it up. It was actually .331 and .330. LOL.

His story about how he broke into the big leagues, first Spring Training game against Whitey and The Mick, earning his nickname "Charlie Hustle" ... is terrific (about 10 minutes in). Later he corrects himself, "No, I didn't score 100 runs that year, I scored 101."

Some interesting things from the Phillies if you're a NL fan. Mick Abel called up as Nola is going on the IL. Seems like a one and done, but Painter is getting called up as soon as 3 weeks.

When was the last time someone made a better run on .400 than Judge this year?

The answer is probably Tony Gwynn. Maybe Ichiro.

Iirc Arraez was batting above .400 into August 2 years ago

It's a long season. If you want to add power, then Bonds and Larry Walker are probably up there.

Chipper Jones flirted with .400 for a while there.

He did. Although the last day his average was above .400 was June 23. And after May 9th when he fell below .400, it was only a few more times that he would pop above .400

His last day at .414 or higher (where Judge is sitting on May 17th) was on May 8th.

To me the most forgotten run on .400 was Tony Fernandez, who was hitting .414 as late as June 21st in 1999, and held .400 until June 28, after which he fell off hard and finished at .328

Bonds was iirc 5 hits away from a .400 season the year after 73

Ok 12 hits, but still, there’s your closest

Gwynn was at .394 in 414 ABs and that was in everyone here lifetime.

13 actually.

How dare you

There's a certain team that keeps winning, and if this continues, the haters are going to be so mad

I'm almost certain the actual WS potential teams would love to see the Twins in any playoff series.

Mets Yankees Subway World Series would be EPIC.

I wouldn’t be spending $1,500 on tix to go.

That buys a lot of Chicken and Lamb over rice.

Where do you anticipate to watch a game from for that price?

You know that I'm not talking about them nor would the Twins winning ever really make anyone mad
