2025 MLB Season Thread
The Tokyo series is March 18-19th, will air on FOX, and is between The Cubs and The Dodgers.

New Divisional Power Rankings
The best rated to the three mehs
NL West- Two elite teams, then Giants as best away team in the game, then Dbacks who can always put up runs or a decent pitching performance.
NL East- Barves at the bottom of the division is crazy and shows how good it is and will be. Nats have some great trade options(Gore, hitters), Phils and Mets will battle. Marlins always have some good young talent and will trade off Alcantara and others, but still have speed and good young guys.
AL East- Lots of runs shitty pitching all around since Rays have to play outdoors now.
The bottom three divisions- Cubs may be the only team to have a chance to make the CS only to lose to the NL West, their pitching is not there if they add Mackenzie or Alcantara it would mean something. Detroit, Ranger, Guardians, Brew and the rest don't have anything more in them than just making the playoffs.
ALCS- Bosox-Bjays
Nlcs- Doyer-Pads
WS-Pads
Trying to blast bombs every at-bat doesn't hold up in the freezing temps of the night game WS dates in the Northeast or San Diego. Tell ya mothas I'm sorry for her.
Oh yeah Padres are 22-1 to win
WS on MGM behind. lol I'll hedge if needed. but easy bet. I don't know how the market works, but Yanks/#mycubbies/Doyers/Botards are betting on their stupid teams like crazy.
wrong pic
I didn’t watch the Braves/DBacks game, but wow what a performance.
4 HR games are something truly special.
…Glad the Braves still won it, though!
I would have enjoyed watching the TIGAZZZ sweep a doubleheader from the lolrioles yesterday, but since that would have required the purchase of an unwanted subscription to another streaming service, I didn't.
Instead I found that ESPN2 was broadcasting the Savannah Bananas. The worldwide leader in "sports", indeed. TBH it was entertaining - and it was pretty cool to see the crowd, they drew 81,000 to Clemson's football stadium. But the quality of play was somewhere between beer league and A ball.
I know they need to make their money, but man MLB just wants to gatekeep itself right out of existence. Glad that I got to see a reasonable number of Tigers games over the air (and listen to Ernie Harwell on the radio) as a kid growing up, otherwise I dunno if I'd even care at all about the game.
Now get off my damned lawn, it's Skubal Sunday.
Giants walk it off on a 4 base infield single
You love to see it
I didn't know it was possible to be as bad as the Rockies are this season.
they may have to start paying fans to attend games.
Went to another Mets game tonight.
Another Mets win.
Seems like I’m their good luck charm.
***Javier Baez Grand Slam Alert***
Does Ohtani have an RBI this year on a non-homer? Just looked at his game logs ... looks like one total just the other night.
Anyway, you can tell from the box scores the guy is a legit extra base hit threat.
Aaron Judge hitting a cool .427/.521/.761 through April.
Leads the MLB with 50 hits.
Dude has turned into Rogers Hornsby and Ted Williams combined.
We may not see a hitter as good as him in the next 50 years.

Wait. You think Ohtani is a legit extra base hit threat? Are you sure about that? I don't think we can rule out the possibility that he actually is just a terrible hitter on a 3000 AB heater.

Any version of Aaron Judge that is striking out less than 25% of the time (which is what he is doing this year) is an unstoppably bad man. He obviously won't run this sort of hit % all year, but he is very live to win a Triple Crown. It's astonishing to me that he has walked only 21 times this year.
The big difference between Judge and other huge guys is that Judge is actually an elite athlete. He probably could have focused on baseball, football, or basketball at a young age and ended up playing professionally. Not many people fall into that category.
He reminds me of Dave Winfield with the bat. Like he's swinging a toothpick
All Rise.

Seems a little premature for that. Seems to resemble Ruth or Bonds more. Unless that average stays within 50 points or so of where it is now, which is a long, long, long shot.
Season is still way too long.
Even with the addition of Soto its hard to truly care about the status of the Mets day in / day out while we’re in the beginning of May.
