to put a bow on things, Sando's thoughts on Spitgate (before the lenient announcement today by the Shield)

we as an audience can only hope Herbie is unleashed this season
if anything it will answer all the what if questions

to put a bow on things, Sando's thoughts on Spitgate (before the lenient announcement today by the Shield)

the last line is why I think it's so bad. it's dirty, cowardly and disgusting IMO.

In my playing career (rugby), I received and gave punches at least a dozen times, plus more than a few kicks and had my nuts grabbed and squeezed and I'm pretty much 'meh, just part of the game' and I'd do it back and not feel bad about it at all and would very happily talk/drink/be collegiate with the opposition player involved after the game. (only really off limits thing was eye gouging or deliberate injuring)

But I can honestly say that if I'd been spat on, I'd have looked to fight the guy afterwards/would never have respected him and would have held a grudge pretty much forever

- seven of Fraudgers' eight big throws were the result of a coverage bust (whether it be a miscommunication or a DB falling down) or a missed tackle

- the Jets called a run on 58.1% of their plays, producing a run rate 21.3% over expectation given the downs and distances they faced, per NFL Next Gen Stats. That would have been the ninth-heaviest game for designed runs in the NFL last season.

- (lol Jerruh) 2.8 seconds: According to NFL Next Gen Stats, that was Lions quarterback Jared Goff's time to throw when Micah Parsons was on the field for the Packers on Sunday. When he was off the field? 3.36 seconds. A half-second difference on the time-to-throw scale is substantial.

This is a sport where they squeeze people junk and put fingers in places at the bottom of the pile. Spitting is really the most disrespectful thing that is happening on a football field?

Also, Dak didn't seem to mind. Maybe that's his thing.

you're just being a "fan"atic with your dark green blinders on

if a CIN player did this, i'd be saying he deserved to def miss Week 2 and i'd be fine if they tacked on Week 3 as well

don't know you from Adam, but not a good look Randall

imho

.

in my opinion, yes. and I would think that would be a widely held belief among people who play contact sports and it certainly would have been amongst my peers, teammates.

spitting an absolute 'no no'. the rest are a part of the dark arts.

Had a rare few minutes and decided to watch Bryce Young a little closer. I had already felt confident on my read on Trevor from the game and how the OL played and was hearing a lot of hate for Bryce the past few days.

I personally know this is absolutely crazy to say but I wouldn't say his entire game was bad. Warren Sharp's stuff has a lot of credibility but he also isn't in the know of each and every playcall. Tue pass catchers were a huge net negative for Bryce. It's a one game sample and I can't speak to last season or this preseason.

What I saw was a whole lot of choice routes. Canales is in his third year of playcalling at a level above high school. He has had a ton of NFL playbook experience though. And his concepts are very high level. They have a lot of the "faux" West coast that the NFL loves now and gives WRs a ton of options. Problems I saw really were WRs were not giving effort in the run game, which led to Jaguars DBs locking in on Run/Pass very early. Without a lot of "natural" RPO the defense got a huge schematic advantage. Jaguars were able hide a ton of coverage pre snap because the needed adjustments that the NFL requires just wasn't shaping the way Canales drew up.

Elite QBs can anticipate what a defense wants to do vs certain formations, motions, down and distance, depths, cadence, ect. Panthers could not get settled with their offense and it began to put Bryce in some very precarious spots.

That's a whole lot of nonsense to say that the performance I saw out of Bryce was to be expected with what he had to work with. I hope they allow for more RPO. Move the pocket SOME(don't go overboard). Force those defenses to have to adjust to you rather than the opposite. I imagine not having a vet receiver that is just as good at reading a defense as a QB is a major hindrance.

Though, he could just be Josh Rosen as well.

Thanks for the insight. I think he had some really poor moments, particularly the turnovers and throw away out of bounds of the end zone on 4th down. He also struggled in some short down and distance spots.

But overall, I didn’t think he looked terrible terrible. Like you said, the WRs mostly did execute well and the play calling can improve. Though, I’m very excited about Tet’s future and thought he looked pretty damn good.

This is the play right before the 4th down decision in the Ravens/Bills game. The third down completion to hopkins:

Lamar wasn't "cramping." He was hurt. I wonder why Harbaugh didn't call TO to 1) give Lamar time to recover a little, and 2) think about the decision.

Jets cutting punt returner for making a big mistake. New boss, new rules. I like it.

Week 7 there will be no more Jets players
