Winter LC Thread: Get More HOT Chicks
Maybe warm chicks will suffice, even lukewarm. Hell, even those with a slight chill.

Since onside kicks suck and hardly ever work, had this idea. Needs polish, but something like this.
Kicking team announces they want to try. Must be behind, maybe also in the last 5 minutes or so.
They get a free kick from their own 40 (or so), off the tee. If the kicker knocks it through the uprights, their offense takes over at that spot. If not, the other team's offense takes over at that spot.
So a pretty big cost for missing, keeps it in desperation mode. Needs to be far back enough it con

I liked the UFL option:
The United Football League (UFL) has an alternative to the onside kick called "make it and take it". This rule allows teams to retain possession in the fourth quarter by converting a 4th-and-12 from their own 28-yard line.

The only guy who got a unanimous vote was Mariano Rivera. It's kind of stupid that the actual greatest players who ever played didn't get 100% votes. Its weird since relief pitchers don't get in the hall all that much. Rivera was great for sure but if I was starting a mythical team of guys at their peak Rivera would be well down that list.
That said Ichiro may be the greatest all around player ever.

Mike Trout should be voted in unanimously right now - for having to play for the Angels his whole career.
Pedro Martinez should have been unanimous. Just look at his stats, and he pitched in Fenway in the steroid era.
He also came in second in MVP voting in 1999 because one voter left him off the ballot completely.

Tonight is widow and widowers night. When I pet sit, I go for dinner with the wives of two of my best friends who have died in the past six years. The wives are also long time friends. We don't talk about our losses. Instead, we talk about children and grandchildren.
It helps, as Wordsworth says, to find strength in what remains.
Hated to see the Giants give up Saquon, but it's nice seeing him playing on a good team.
