Planning to take off a week from Sunday. But, you never know. Being retired, it's nice to have a flexible schedule. If I don't feel like going that morning, go the next day or whatever.
No real route, just generally thinking about heading north through Black Hills, maybe into the prairie provinces, which I've never visited, then loop around through my hometown in N WI. Generally wander the upper midwest.

I have figured out that there is no point in trying to have any kind of discussion or argument with magatards, simply because they cannot see. So I hope those of you who can see, will follow my lead and just start ignoring everyone on this site, and elsewhere, that cannot see. We need to start shunning them so that maybe they will finally, one day, see that their beliefs need further reflection.

Dom you’re prob my favorite poster but widening the divide in the country by making enemies out of people who simply choose to believe differently than you is NOT the answer. It widens the divide. That is the type of thing that MAGA supporters do, and that is what Trump wants.
The Democratic Party did a shitty enough job so that many people wanted something else. Yes, Trump is way worse than any alternative. But him going on to ruin things is the thing that will fastest swing the pendulum back in the other direction.
Trump supporters are usually just not smart enough to understand the wide-reaching dynamics that will result from voting for him. Or they are racist or misogynistic. Either way you have to lead by example by showing them a better way, not pretending they don’t exist.
If you want to live in a democracy, then you have to be ok with people believing differently than you. Trump and conservative Christians look to divide the country out of desperation as society progresses towards equality. Rise above it!

If you think this country is still a democracy, I think that's cute. I have it at about even money that the midterms in 2026 will actually be free and fair elections.

The only group that Trump wins more than 50% in is men who didn’t go to college. By being an educated man in your community you have the opportunity to educate people in a way that doesn’t divide. People are more reasonable in real life than on the internet but it’s still an opportunity to make points with respect rather than add to the vitriol. We have a great opportunity to be part of the solution.
This is not a difference in policy. This is not a difference of opinion. What the right is doing now is an attack on this country. They are trying to destroy the United States. And I will not try to convince them otherwise. I will ignore them and I will fight in any way that I can.
But what I will not do is entertain them in a civil discussion. Because that's what they want. The idea that all of this is simply a difference of opinion in that we're all just golly gee will occurs red white and blue Americans. They aren't.
