2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!
I
One other note to share from the WSOP, a fun story from the Monster Stack. At my day 2 table, there's an empty seat where the dealer had to take the player's chips out of the bag because they hadn't shown up. It was a super tiny stack, less than 4 big blinds. They were in seat 4, the third hand comes around and they're still not there, so there goes half their stack blinded off
Eh, sounded like he should have figured this all out and got there earlier to me. It brings up the famous Benjamin Franklin quote, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

This could be a really good start of an awesome poker movie. Wakes up late after night of hooker and blow, steals and wrecks the hooker's car on LV Blvd and abandons it, runs to Horseshoe, freeze frame on him running up the escalators after getting told he's in Normandy...wins it all from 2 BB.
Welp, hope all is well for anyone. Was playing cash yesterday and made about 500 playing 2-5 in a couple hours. So I see the 1pm daily was starting in the main paris room. This seemed like a good omen so I bought in on level 2. This is a bad idea as my table was filled with a younger crowd. Anywho...
I had a bad couple of wsop events and basically bubbled a resorts world tournament but this one went a lot better. I easily cashed out of 1307 and ran down to 45 people before we oddly got moved upstairs despite nothing going on in paris at midnight. We get a couple new players at the table which id been at for a couple hours and was basically the table of doom. Lots of big hands, bad beats, good players. This girl sits down with bout 500k at 30-60k and immediately gets it in with QJ and beats AK. Two hands later I open shove sb into bb with j6 and beat his 4s.
Now I got about a million and open shove cutoff two hands later with AQ and to my surprise the girl who just doubled calls off nearly all her 1.1m chips with A10. Great spot to be top 3 in chips with 40 left but alas, she backdoors a flush. Sigh...very close to a nice payday. Obv I want that call, kinda, but id have been happy if she folded as I was playing well and certainly could have laddered at least another grand by just chilling for a couple orbits.
All in all, great trip and the gf has ripped the slots apart this trip. Next year we'll schedule 2 weeks but wish it was this year as I have no job and she has 6 weeks of pto.
Good luck all.
I'm about to head home from my WSOP trip this year. Here are my flip stats for 2025 (NLHE only):
Expected Return: 50%
Actual Return: 39%
Normalised Luck: 35%
Bad Beat: 80%
Sucked Out: 33%
Sample Size: 36
My best year in terms of # of cashes, but worst in terms of $ won since they were nearly all min cashes!
Does paying by credit card have any fee associated with it? Is it counted as a cash advance?

For me the answers were no and no. The WSOP warns of a possible fee for using a credit card, but then tweeted just before the start of the series that there were no fees, and that hasn't changed. The charges were reported as purchases on my Amex statement.

I played one event, played for about 25 hours total. I had one flip which I won. I got it in 8 times which I covered all but the final hand, 5 ahead 3 behind and the best hand won all 8. I had one guy river a 9 to beat me in a hand which is the closest to a bad beat. I never had any hands where I did something like that where I binked a big river card. Been playing over 20 years and I canβt recall a cleaner tournament.
I one outered an old guy on the river when he flatted my AJs 3b on the btn with QQ and then called twice on a J high board. Oops.
I guess I had 4 outs w the 3 aces. Another guy folded a J. My JJJ >QQ
Question for everyone - I'm slow and late in keeping up with the WSOP (I have a good excuse), so I am looking to WSOP.com for results, chip counts, etc. like I have for 20 years. Nothing!! Where are you all finding these things?

PokerNews and/or WSOP+ app. Mostly PokerNews, though.
It sucks they got rid of it on their site.
Staying at the Horseshoe for the first part of my WSOP trip. It's such a shit hole. THe smoke in the lobby is terrible.
The bathroom in my room is needs to be renovated.
One thing that I really like is Dominique Ansel bakery. The items that I have eaten so far have been amazing. It's expensive, but really good.
The my Stack app is no longer being used to update chipstacks on Pokernews, apparently. Any other alternative options? Or directly in the WSOP+ app?

For your own stack, you can update it in the wsop+ app. Sometimes on breaks, dealers eyeball it. Otherwise pokernews chipstacks are either from the app or manually from reporters

Cool, thx, yeah I noticed you could manually do it yourself on the app, which basically made the My Stack application obsolete!

Paris >>> Horseshoe IMO and basically same convenience.
Paris is like $40 a night more.
Quick report from the WSOP. I spent the last week here, flying home in the morning. Some notes on my experience:* Verification was a breeze, there was no line in the Horseshoe ballroom. I'm not sure everyone is aware that you can verify at the cage there. The next night my buddy had a short wait to verify in Paris. Just a few minutes, nothing major. This was last Friday night,
For verification - The cage in the Bally's Ballroom, is it in the main Ballroom or in the smaller Provence and Normandy rooms toward the front of the casino on the 2nd and 3rd floors?
How many people are using the WSOP+ App to make notes on players?
I am trying to make some notes. Not sure if it's useful now, because the odds of me playing with the same players again is very slim. But could be useful down the road. 2 years from now, having some information on people that you have played with before.
I use Blue for Aggro
I use Brown for passive/loose
I use Green for.......

Maybe too late as I've been away for a few days, but it's in the main ballroom at Horseshoe, just to the right as you enter. I'm not sure whether there's a place you can verify in the Normandy/Provence area. Definitely something to keep in mind for next year. Since I was staying in Horseshoe, I found it quicker to go down there after checking into my room, and as I said, no line at all. The one downside is that they have to take your picture through the metal bars, so it looks like you're in jail. Fortunately that pic is only used for the dealer tablets.
Is there any sites offering bets on the final table of the main event now that we know the participants and if so what are the odds?
