Ah **** just realised i've forgot to apply for ITIN, too late now so what happens if I cash in a tourny, they just keep the tax until I apply for one?

Think I remember someone saying Horseshoe/Paris doesn't help you with ITINs but other casinos do?

Anyone know? TYIA

The app sign up is pretty cake tbh. Just go to the top right and verify your card. I did like it, especially if you're paying with a card.

Btw, busted monster stack 5 min before dinner break, coldest wave of cards I've ever seen. Aces once, everyone folded even tho they were fighting me for every pot. No kings, queens, jacks, 10s once-lost. 1 set, in first level made no money.

Got to 15bb, dumbass limped button which I knew was trash so I shove q10o from sb, he calls j10s, rivers straight. Frustrating tournament, as I got a horrible table draw after a couple of busts.

Uso or golden nugget tomorrow?

Question, as I've only now played two wsop tournaments.

I was in the 1 seat so I had easy view of everybody's names. I had two guys to my direct left that had over 800k in winnings, and to his left 750k. Is this to be expected on day 1 or is that pretty unlucky? Our table never broke after 9 hours of play when I went broke. Thanks for any that have experience.

In my experience if that’s a buyin less than $2k it’s a bad table draw.

It was the monster. Yea, I was moving along, up to 70k after an hour, then within 2 hours i had 4 guys with 850k, 750k, 70k, 100k in winnings with another old guy with 425k. I felt owned on several hands. Pretty frustrating.

Good news is a buddy chopped the 400$ orleans NL tournament 4 handed last night.

Edit: i learned my lesson, no looking up who anybody is anymore. All it did was overthink things and I've always been good at figuring out what someone is doing at the table within 15 minutes anyway.

That is weird! I wouldn't expect that kind of foolishness in a $1500 event. That could be why many pros max late reg, they're less likely to run into those people. I think you can reg until very late at night, like maybe 9 or 10 pm.

no real pro wants to avoid those people

The object is to accumulate chips so you definitely don’t want to wait for them to be gone

Many late reg for a variety of reasons, but not that

No to Paypal for me. Every couple of weeks I get notice of a scam purchase of bitcoin, that I'm supposed to verify. How did my Paypal username get out there? I've never done a paypal transaction.

How do you know it got out? I routinely get emails about PayPal bitcoin transactions. I instantly know they are fraudulent because I don’t have a PayPal account.

Point is that an email about a PayPal transaction doesn’t mean a PayPal leak.

PSA for those of us that have lost our Diamond status:

Went to check in at Paris this evening and they had added on resort fees of $62.30/night. I brought a printout of the cost of my stay which was booked when I was Diamond, what they were looking for, however, was my old Diamond card from 2024. That card was taken from me and replaced with a Platinum card at Harrah's Pompano last time I played there. It took a while, but, eventually a manager came out and took care of it. If you still have your Diamond card from 2024, definitely bring it! If not, be persistent, the manager can get your Diamond status from the back office, but, the front desk clerk cannot.

What kind of shitshow will the Salute To Warriors be on Sunday do you think? Single day 1, $500 entry, one re-entry, 3-day event. ~4500 entries last year, steady growth Y/Y. I'm arriving Saturday to get verified. Wondering if I should late reg. Any clue when the money bubble bursts? Getting pretty antsy, long drive Saturday...

ETA:
Per Google:

It appears that the Salute to Warriors had more than a 10% drop in entries this year. Similar drop with Colossus. Having those two tournaments with the Pokernews Deepstack near each other in the schedule last year (2024) allowed them to feed off each other. With each of those tournaments isolated from each other this year we see the drop in entries. The Pokernews Deepstack has a better chance of doing well due to the Gladiator, Summer Celebration and Ultra tournaments scheduled near each other.

I don't think it was a great idea to have the Salute on day 2 of the Monster Stack.

A lot of the folks who would've been in the Salute were occupied by that Monster Stack re-start.

Yeah monster had too many bag. They should have had salute start at like 2pm if they wanted to feed into it but thats when the mixed game one starts and they want a 10am start.

Unlike the two previous Sundays that did super well.

600 after the MB increased by a ton because only 5% bag.

Same with the 600 plo/nlh after colossus.

Are there any single table satellites going on?

by caspro911 m

Are there any single table satellites going on

No single table satellites. Only the multi table landmarks

Also warriors was 10 handed which is a much worse experience than 9 handed. Can't remember if that was the case last year. Don't know how much this affects entries immediately, but over time I think it will have a negative effect. People will not leave with positive memories of the experience and are less likely to come back

Apparently the decision to go 10-handed was solely due to the number of monster stack day 2 players being higher than they thought. At least that’s what i heard from a guy who talked to a guy who talked to a floor.

Horseshoe bathroom sinks:

First one - no soap comes out of the dispenser
Second one - no soap comes out of the dispenser
Third one - soap comes out, you wash your hands. As you’re almost done rinsing more soap shoots out

Not sure if it was bad luck or if it’s happening in all events but the dealers we had yesterday were as bad as it gets. Up until dinner break it was one bad dealer after another. We were doing all of the work just about every hand. I’m usually patient but it wore me down. Then we’d end up with too many players trying to count out chips on all ins. It got a lot better when we moved to horseshoe but still has a big pot pushed the wrong way and another that couldn’t get the chip count right in a big all in. Floor had to fix both.

On a positive, the seniors is going to draw around 10k entries. They said yesterday it might hit 11k. I bagged about 70BB. Struggled all day and spun up the last level.

Hey guys - quick question for the experienced, it’s been 3 years since I’ve been at the series.

I’m going to come for a few small events June 28- July 2nd.

I want to play the gladiator June 28, and am arriving pretty late June 27.

I’m fine with late regging a bit on the day as I think it’ll be too late and I’ll be too tired to deal with the registration process after midnight.

Let’s say I arrive at 12 pm wanting to late reg gladiator, can someone walk me through how to best register. From my understanding I need to:

-Go to the in person cashier to verify my identity?
-Link my identity to verify my WSOP+ app so I can start using that for buy ins then.

What can I expect from the late reg process for such a high field tournament?

Long wait times to get verified and then start playing (any range of what I can expect time wise?)

Also how would it work once I’m verified for a 2nd bullet if that’s needed?

Thanks for any help, just trying to prepare and make this as smooth as possible.

I arrived around noon for a WSOP tournament a week ago.
1) Create a ggpass ID and Password in the WSOP app.
2) Enter your info on the app.
3) Enter a method of purchase. I chose credit card (which the 3% fee was still waived as of a week ago).
4) I tried to purchase a ticket (but then it said it has to be verified)
5) Go to the cage in the Horseshoe WSOP Grand Ballroom. At least when I was there, there was literally no line and 3 people that could verify you. I imagine an alternative is in the Paris WSOP poker area.
6) Once you're verified, you can use your "payment" to enter a tournament. Upon entering the tournament, they will either put you on a waitlist or give you a seat immediately.
7) If you're on a waitlist, it goes pretty quick. For the Gladiators, I was #40 and got a seat within 8 minutes.

Once you're verified (and assuming you use Paypal or Credit Card), you can register immediately on the app and don't have to get verified again. If you're paying cash, I imagine you have to go to the cage to do it.

It shouldn't be a surprise that there are bad dealers at the WSOP. For years, players have complained, and it doesn't ever really improve. And probably never will. At this point, I consider it part of the WSOP 'experience'.

On the flip side, though, I played seniors 1B yesterday. 4 different tables, 1 in Paris, 3 in HS, and didn't experience any issues with dealers. A few were actually quite good and clearly professionals from other venues.

Congratulations on making day 2! 70bb is a nice, playable stack. I only bagged ~37bb so have some work to do this morning.

Good Luck!

by VincentVega m

Oh for sure. Don't get me wrong.

I got stuck on a table in the Tuesday freezout the other day that was pretty much all pros. I was wishing I had those donkeys to play with that would commit 200 bb like it was 30.

In my unscientific small-sample-size experience so far the 1k+ mid-week buyins at the WSOP have had significantly tougher fields, which makes sense. They seem to be a lot more pro-heavy midweek while the recreational shot takers tend to come in for the weekend events (would say Friday is effectively the weekend too).

So I'm thinking for the remainder of the series I'm going to focus on side series at other venues midweek, unless there's a small buy-in bracelet event. Then I'll play the WSOP on the weekends when the fields are softest.

Quick report from the WSOP. I spent the last week here, flying home in the morning. Some notes on my experience:
* Verification was a breeze, there was no line in the Horseshoe ballroom. I'm not sure everyone is aware that you can verify at the cage there. The next night my buddy had a short wait to verify in Paris. Just a few minutes, nothing major. This was last Friday night, likely lots of people arriving to play the final flight of the Monster on Saturday.

* The app is fantastic once you get the registration process down. It's a little odd with the whole "buy a ticket" then actually register, then "sit in", but I'd simply advise that if you're certain you'll make it for the start of a tournament, there's no need to wait. If you think you might be a bit late, then just wait to click Sit In until you get there, to ensure your chips aren't put into play. You do need to watch the dealers and make sure they remember to bust people out promptly

* The Monster Stack Day 2 and Salute to Warriors was indeed a **** show. I was assigned a table in Normandy for the Monster restart. Huh??? You mean the cramped room where they do the dailies? Yes, that shitty room. They'd be the first tables to break, but unfortunately I didn't last long enough to get out of there. I was one of the early bust-outs who decided to jump into the Salute. OK, so get the hell out of there, register for Salute, I was told I was 3rd on the waitlist but just 2 seconds later it told me to go to my seat which was in...Provence. You're ****ing kidding me. Back up the escalators into the other room they've crammed too many tables into to play some 10-handed poker.

* The Seniors experience wasn't much better for me. I drew a table in Paris Green. Which is where the cash games are. Nice comfy seat, but I knew I wouldn't be there long, as they'd want to break those tables early to free them up for cash games. Unfortunately when my table broke, I drew another table in Green and was only there about 30 minutes before it broke. I was at my table about 40 minutes before it took broke to make room for the 2:00PM 6-Max start. 4 tables in 4 hours really sucks.

* There was a discussion about the walk between Aria and Horseshoe. I did it twice as I stayed at the shoe and played two events at Aria. From the bottom of the elevators in Horseshoe to the Aria poker room walking at a leisurely pace it took me 21 minutes. It's really not bad at all, despite how hot it was. You're barely outside, most of the walk is through the Bellagio and the passageway to Vdara, then you're outside for the short walk around to the Aria entrance. Super easy.

* I kinda like the Planet Hollywood poker room. Played a little cash there and enjoyed it. I hope they look at doing a tournament series next year, as they have a ton of room up there they could set up tables in. Apparently they used to have a summer series according to a couple people I talked to. Would be great to see it, since it's super convenient to Paris/Horseshoe.

On a personal note, the trip was a total bust for me, as I failed to cash any of the 3 WSOP events I played. I reaffirmed that I love the Monster Stack and really don't like the Seniors. This was my first time playing Salute to Warriors. I'd definitely play it again, it's a great structure, but hopefully I'll play it from the start next time as opposed to starting in level 5, and hopefully 9-handed, and not in Provence or Normandy.

One other note to share from the WSOP, a fun story from the Monster Stack. At my day 2 table, there's an empty seat where the dealer had to take the player's chips out of the bag because they hadn't shown up. It was a super tiny stack, less than 4 big blinds. They were in seat 4, the third hand comes around and they're still not there, so there goes half their stack blinded off. We all assumed they just decided to abandon their stack and play some other tournament and not bother trying to spin it up. Probably lost a big hand and were left with those crumbs late on day 1 and didn't have a chance to get them in or something. Then right as the dealer is pushing the pot to the winner of his dead big blind, this guy comes running into the room totally out of breath, but just in time to be able to play his small blind. I mean he was heaving, telling a story about a nightmare getting parking, and then not realizing where Normandy was and having to sprint to make it, knowing he had precious little opportunity to do anything. He's still huffing and puffing after the dealer verifies him and the next hand is dealt. The action gets around to me in seat 1, I have pocket tens and raise to 6k, and it folds to this fellow, who looks at his cards and promptly plops in his last 4k chips to call. The big blind folds, and the guy turns up aces. We were all just stunned, and had a great laugh about it. Mind you, if he'd had more chips, I probably wouldn't have found it quite so funny, but honestly it was worth losing two two bigs just for the story.

No, there's not much more to it, he did win another all-in and spun up a little stack to keep playing for another couple orbits before busting. But he gave it his all in order to have his shot, and dammit if the universe didn't reward him for it.

Bagged for day 3 of the seniors with about 25 BBs. Had an awful last two levels and dropped down quite a bit. I was between 70-120BB’s most of the day. Met some really good people today and everyone was joking around and having fun. Reminded me of poker during the peak years. Dealers were top notch all day long as well.
