Joe Flacco is getting rested for the final week of the season after his team locked up their playoff seed. In preparation for a Super Bowl run.

It's 2024.

I think it is pretty much that. Godgers listened to the non-science that said he’s young and in great shape and therefore shouldn’t be concerned about the virus so he treated it as a non-threat. Kimmel got pretty swept up in the Covid group think of anyone who doesn’t take all the vax should be attacked. In the end 0 out of the top 10k healthiest professional athletes were hurt

Aaron Rodgers 2022 - with healthy Aaron Jones, healthy Christian Watson and top 100 WR Allen Lazard
21.8 points per game, 5.99 NY/A, 5.95 ANY/A 91.1 Rating, 41.3 QBR 26:11 TD:INT

Jordan Love 2023 - without any of that
23 points per game, 6.27 NY/A, 6.45 ANY/A 93.8 Rating, 61.5 QBR 30:11 TD:INT

Green Bay GM for exec of the year. What a huge upgrade for that franchise. Just imagine the numbers Love will put up if they ever give him a Davante Adams level WR. Might be able to win a few Media Awards.

"Better than Rodgers in 2022" isn't really a measurement stick though. That season was the worst by a non-injured MVP in recent memory (or maybe even all time). For comparison, Zach Wilson's QBR was 38.5 in 2022 only 2.8 points below Rodgers.

That said, GB's front office obviously deserves a lot of praise for not only getting rid of Rodgers contract but also receiving significant draft compensation for him. OTOH that same front office gave Rodgers that contract in 2022 resulting in a $40mil dead cap his this season.

Reed and Wicks both seem pretty solid

If Rodgers had that bevy of top 50 pass catchers, it could've been an MVP 3peat

What's impressive to me is how Love has been just as good (if not better) than Rodgers and Favre were in their first years as a starter.

As a fan of a team that's been a revolving door of QBs since Marino retired. I'm definitely jealous of a team that's able to go from one franchise QB to the next without missing a beat.

Depending on what the Vikings and Bears do at QB, the NFCN could be a very competitive division next season.

I'm a Love hater like some people here are with tua. But he is probably also good enough that you just gotta roll with him for a while.

Yes, Aaron jones missed 6 games this year, but RBs are overrated and it isn’t like Dillon is a bum. The young receivers Godgers had last year have an extra year of experience and GB drafted 6 offensive skill position players to help out love including 2 pass catchers in the 2nd rounders and one in the third. They spent more draft equity this year on offensive weapons for love than they did in all the years Godgers was a packer (only slightly exaggerating).

The line on the Bills moved to 2.5 which seems curious because everything I hear is love for Buffalo for 4 straight days and Dolphins decimated with injuries. Any thoughts on why that line moved?

In my yahoo Pickem league it says 52% picked the dolphins. And I was just watching ESPN and 6 out of the 8 "experts" picked the dolphins. Plenty of people are on the dolphins.

OK fine, the science was a bit split during that NFL season, but he decided to listen to those in SCIENCE that applied logic and weren't refusing to answer questions like: As a young person that is extremely healthy what are my risks when I get covid?

The fact that no famous elite athlete was seriously negatively effected by covid and if you expand that to the most healthy top 100,000 athletes in the world we just never hear about any of them getting seriously hurt or killed by covid. I know a lot of governments around the world were begging to find an elite athlete that got hurt by covid, but to my knowledge none popped up. Godgers was absolutely vindicated in his attempt to treat covid like the absolute non-threat that it was to him.

Godgers wasn't alone. There were quite a few like him. Even OBJ was smart enough to know that covid couldn't touch his body and he was nice enough to provide us with one of the best quotes of all time when he said, "I don't think COVID can get to me. I don't think it's going to enter this body. I don't want no parts of it, it don't want no parts of me. It's a mutual respect."

I agree - Aaron Jones is critical for the Packers - he was clearly their best offensive player in 2022. Rodgers was really just a checkdown artist, so it's important to have a guy like Jones.

by bahbahmickey m

They spent more draft equity this year on offensive weapons for love than they did in all the years Godgers was a packer.

That's laughable - any time GB drafted a young stud these last years, Rodgers would just demand that they re-sign Cobb, trade for Jake Kumerow, and maybe bring James Jones out of retirement.

Facts are facts - Green Bay's supporting cast is much, much weaker than in 2022, and Jordan Love is producing a lot more. Now the big question for Love is, is he a playoff choke artist like his predecessor? Jury is still out there.

"Better than Rodgers in 2022" isn't really a measurement stick though. That season was the worst by a non-injured Media Award Winner in recent memory (or maybe even all time). For comparison, Zach Wilson's QBR was 38.5 in 2022 only 2.8 points below Rodgers.

This is a good point and it really goes to show you how valuable Davante Adams was. He was the real Media Award Winner for Green Bay - franchise went absolutely sideways once he left. Jordan Love looks to be righting the ship.

With another couple years on Rodgers, we have to wonder if he's actually a downgrade from Zach Wilson. We know for a fact Rodgers is worse than Love.

A lot of delusional Jets fans seem to think that everything's looking up for next year with Rodgers healthy. I could easily see them regressing further, considering they need to spend this draft mostly fixing the OL, which still may not be enough with a QB that's arguably gonna have zero mobility.

not cool to make fun of the population that resigned to their fate decades ago and was offered a glimmer of hope that was promptly blown out of proportion by the media

the most delusional Jets fan can be described as "cautiously optimistic" by the other teams fans standard

Does it change your physical appearance when you tie yourself into so many knots to explain and excuse the behavior of the morons you idolize. Jesus, it must hurt a lot!

The delusion starts with thinking it's a guarantee that a 40yo just comes back from a torn achilles tendon and performs at an NFL starting QB level. Without Brady, almost everyone would have thought Rodgers was toast after the 2022 season.

If Rodgers passes for more than 3239 yards next season he's #2 all time in career passing yards after turning 40.

I'd offer 1:1 odds for "Rodger's 2024 season is over after the Jets 8th game of the season or earlier" against "Rodgers finishes top 3 in AP MVP voting".

If you as the Jets don't believe that Rodgers can bounce back from that horrible 2022 season and play at least close to his previous level there's absolutely no reason to trade for him. That's not like the Matthew Stafford trade where you spend 2 first rounders to get a QB with a very high floor (and unload another QB contract).

Tying myself up? Sounds fun, but I don't recall talking about that.

The only thing I said was Godgers reacted to the NFL trying to force the players (some of the healthiest people in the world) to take covid insanely serious is the way any logical person should have. Godges has just enough of that "I'm not going to kiss your ring" mentality to stand up to the NFL, CDC, etc. I completely understand why the NFL is scared of a player doing that and why they punished him.

I am interested in betting if we can sub out top 3 in MVP voting to something like QBR and we can wait and see if the jets can get the combo between their o-line + pass catchers to something slightly below league avg or better. I think he gets way too much negative PR for him to win MVP again no matter how he plays.

no active player has ever died from a concussion so it's really dumb that the nfl forces them to wear helmets

fraudgers should be a hero and stand up to this ridiculous tyranny next season

Fraudgers would def earn a ton of street cred if he played next season without wearing a helmet

That's fair, I'd do QBR. Probably should also be worded like "Rodgers starts less than 2 games after week 7" to account for him not playing at all or getting a week 18 start in a meaningless game.

Pretty sure he would have gotten a ton of street cred over the Covid issue had he said "FU Roger not doing that ****!" instead of misleading everyone on purpose by claiming the immunized stuff.
