Had it inspected and it only needed an oil change. The interior is surprisingly in great shape, other than the shift knob being worn. Which is expected, you have to shift a lot in this car.

Been working on a bar for the site of some of our medieval headkicking events. Today I got all the trim stained, and there's really no good way to fit trim other than actually fitting it. So I put the whole thing together, added the trim, and then took it all back apart for transport to the site.

I’ve been eyeing off the new ones (called MX5 here). I’m looking at buying a new car this year - I reckon I need one more Dad’s car to get me through the next 5-7 years and then once that’s done I might get one of them. My current and previous cars were both Mazdas and they’re just such well made, hassle free cars to drive

These days a 30 year old Miata that runs goes for at least double that.

I drive a 3rd gen Miata/MX5. You can see it through the windows of my wife's Mini in the pics above. With the power hardtop, it's a great car even in bad weather, and it's a ton of fun. Highly recommended.

7 or so yers ago. It was really small and low to the ground. Dude that had it before her did some mods that neither of us can remember. We have a gamboolin pal who is super duper into cars and finding value in underpriced cars ect. He shopped for a month or so to "find the right one". It was great except the ac sucked which in FL aint cool in the summer.

I yelled Get a muffler at some musclehead 1/4 mile away. Just realized, there is a big car show in Phoenix this week. It brings in lots of droolers to stare at obscure cars.

Actually its a bit more. Names like Toyota and Honda are so well liked that one has to substantially overpay.

The swamp ended up sucking most of the life from the miata. We ended up leaving FL during covid and relocating to UT. Did not plan on it just happened. So it sat for the better part of 2 years. Had a small hole in the soft top and it got quite funky in there. SPC wound up giving it to a local redneck kid who thought the miata was the coolest thing since canned beer
