General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.
Just an observation.
you ok with some talking, Dude? You gonna be alright without a fight or explosion for a bit?

Ah that's one they should have left alone
Rewatching Santa Clarita Diet.
Such a great show.
star trek strange new worlds
it's currently in season 2
imo it's clearly the best of the newer star trek shows
chris pike captains the enterprise and young spock, nurse chapel, young uhura, and other good characters
the picard show was clearly written by total hacks, and had none of the star trek feel, despite having data and picard and 7of9 on there. even though i love star trek i quit that show pretty quick.
the one with spock's sister as the lead... i forget the name of it... i loved it at first, but then it got boring. i loved the lead character. she and the show had the star trek feel, star trek message, and that was great. but the show just got boring

if you go to recent pages you'll get a lot of discussion on picard, strange new worlds, and recently enterprise because i recently watched the pilot and had question
general consensus picard s1 is not good but watchable if you're really into trek, s2 is some of the worst tv ever made, but then s3 is worth taking a gander at (but still not good)
strange new worlds has a lot of warts which i write about but people tend to like it
enterprise is the real "nothing to do with trek, not trek at all show" imo

One of my favorite movies of all time. A lot for a tv show to live up to, but I could actually see it happening.
sexy beast was absolutely elite very curious to see what angle they go for with the show.
I loved Sexy Beast. Kingsley was incredible.
I see absolutely no reason for there to be a series about this movie though.

That's the issue. It was basically incredible because of him. The rest of the movie was whatever. Recreating something without THE guy?
Now don't get me wrong, it worked with Batman, Mad Max, and Blade Runner. Never in a million years did I think it would. But 95% of the time, this fails. Let's hope it's the 5%.
there are tons of amazingly talented actors out there who can shine, if given the chance.
i'm not saying shows should be remade constantly lol, but when an actor dazzles us in a role, it's likely there are hundreds of other actors who can also dazzle us in that same role

Kingsley was obv amazing but don't discount the rest of the cast everyone was fantastic Ray Winstone is always awesome.

strang
I thought that dishonor went to Discovery. Or Below Decks, which everyone knows was an animated sitcom set in Trek.
below decks is an animated sitcom, but somehow still really stays true to the spirit of trek
enterprise seasons 1 and 2 are pretty meh. but they got new show runners and writers for seasons 3 and 4, and those seasons were great imo... but it was too late. people already hated enterprise by that time
You guys are combining Lower Decks, the animated Star Trek and Below Deck about the charter boat.
Masters of the Air is solid but I would probably like it no matter what. Those dudes went on a suicide mission every time they went up. Pure luck if you lived or died
Three episodes into Mr. and Mrs. Smith and it is bizarre, but not in a good way. The relationships stuff is quite well-written and the two leads have nice chemistry, but holy crap...the assassin/spy stuff is so, so bad.
First, the missions are ridiculous. This "company" needs to hire two disgraced military/CIA people without personal connections to what...deliver a bomb to a house or bug two phones? Seems like overkill.
spoiler:
Strange show.

i have yet to watch discovery, enterprise was terrible
all caught up on strange new worlds, it's definitely finding its feet with time
the doctor serves more purpose than just t&a, the pilot is no longer just a lesbian haircut but an actual person - albeit one who is still largely window dressing - uhura is no longer featured in super whiny and annoying character arcs
really beginning to enjoy it and i'm all caught up now
i still the show is run by idiots who repeatedly go about things the wrong way
they keep on introducing these game changing technolog
That show looks great!
😀
Those are some aggressive nipples, I'm feeling quite threatened...
