Isn't a 300k downswing pretty small compared to the high stakes that you are currently playing?
No, at some point you just have to stop-loss and move way down and rebuild, and wait for the next opportunity.

I currently play 1/10 as high as I used to.
It's still easy money, but it sucks having to climb out of such a big hole and knowing that it takes multiple years to do it.

I have buddies who are very good players who never play higher than 5/10/20 (3000) for exactly this reason despite there being some far bigger and far softer private games around.
Too big a chance for a few bad sessions to totally **** their year

That and it's too likely that you'll get cheated at some point (or robbed, or not paid, etc...).
I've had my share of big wins and $100K months in the past (I've had like 3 of those and many more $50K months), and I wish I got out at my peak, but no one ever quits at their peak.
I was living life on easy mode and blew a lot of money drinking, partying, and dating hot girls.
I'm a lot more well-adjusted now and focused. At one point I truly considered killing myself but I'm past that stage now and on a slow road to recovery.
That and it's too likely that you'll get cheated at some point (or robbed, or not paid, etc...).

Yes, it's crazy. I don't know what I would do in his situation. My ego makes me think that I would have thrown my life away killing that dude if that ever happened to me but I don't know. $700K is a lot of money.
At one point people owed me about $75K (in non-payment from multiple games). Some of those people eventually paid me, but there's still roughly $30K that I'll likely never see.

They used to have a badge for a triple check raise and i was desperate to get it. I finally pulled it off on a very similar board and situation to your hand except of course positions were different
The only problem is that I had middle set and he had top set and so I lost the hand and didn’t get the badge
