Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.

I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.

Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.

Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

No personal family information or situations allowed in the thread.

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

I assume you are referring to the summer/WSOP time. in my own (limited) experience, I have like 5 straight winning winter trips and 4 straight losing summer trips. so I don't prescribe to the "WSOP time is the easiest Vegas games" idea.

yea this was discussed during wsop and I actually agreed with him. Granted I'm playing 5/5-10/25 plo not 1/2 nl. I think the games are worse than other times of year, the lines are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy worse, the weather is usually trash. I can skip the line at WSOP with caesars diamond but within an hour or two I'm ready to explode with how bad the dealers are.

Overall I've had way worse results during wsop than any other time in Vegas. I'm sure some of it is just variance, some of it is bc the games are legitimately worse especially in the last few years and a lot of it is just mental. By the time I actually get in a game I'm just in a shitty mood and pissed off I can't be playing as well as when I'm just enjoying myself In vegas and call up to get on a list, stroll in around an hour later and get seated pretty quickly.

Since covid I did 4-5 vegas trip each year. Mostly for around 2 weeks each.My least enjoyable 3 trips by far are the 3 WSOP trips. Unless I take up tournaments or start playing crazy big I think I'm done with wsop for the most part.

Now why Diesel plays in what he says are the hardest games around basically all year besides wsop is really silly. The hotels/air bnb thing I get. That **** can add up quickly and even if you're good at 1/2 nl expenses in many places eat up way too much of your win rate.

But part of why he plays there is he just likes Vegas. Which is fine and dandy if he was actually a good player winning a lot of money. Life is short and you don't need to try and eek out every extra dollar at the expense of your happiness. But he's making sub minimum wage and doesn't have that luxury. Nor does he have the luxury of taking 2 months off every Jan and Feb. His entitlement while being on the verge of homelessness is astounding.

Being so risk adverse to WSOP that you'd drive 25+ hours for lodging, that's half the price, a couple hundred dollars in fuel cost, and weaker players all while putting more mileage on your aging beater seems counter-intuitive to me. It's not like Rice plays any different anywhere else he goes.

But what do I know? Maybe I'm a miserable normie who's not intelligent enough to understand why a +$125 day in council bluffs is better than a +$125 day in a wsop 1/2 game for someone who admittedly is in the top 1% of low stakes players.

I figured out long ago that when Diesel leaves Vegas it always has more to do with room rates than it does with the quality of poker games. Rice's number 1 priority is keeping his expenses down.

The only other reason why he chooses to stay in Vegas most of the year is it makes him feel better about his life. It's cooler to say you are professional poker player in Vegas rather than bumf#ck Iowa, Oklahoma or Nebraska.

It's not like him or Trooper ever took advantage of anything that Vegas has to offer. When Rice takes a week off he literally locks himself in his room cooking sausage jambalaya in his rice cooker and watching TV reruns and old Trooper vlogs.

Once again, the comments section reveals more about Diesel as a person than any vlog could ever reveal.

It's one thing to mispronounce a word unknowingly. It's another to knowingly do it.

It goes with continuing to call a casino Bally's when it's now called Horseshoe.

I can't imagine why employers wouldn't want to hire someone like Diesel after the interview process.

"I know the right way but I don't like how it sounds." - Diesel when responding to someone pointing out he's pronouncing Nevada incorrectly. He's so detail oriented.

I will agree with this.
Diesel is obsessed with the cost of his 'housing'.

Rice is one buy-in from a 5150 hold.

He would have more credibility if he were flat-earther.

No, housing is free when your mommy buys you a car.

His cars value is roughly 1k i imagine, new maybe was 20k if he got it new in 2005

Probably a few thousand unless it has some kind of damage.
Nobody is selling cars that cheap these days unless they're really crap.

Don’t forget the value of the gas and wiper fluid he owns that is inside the car.

Too bad wiper fluid isn't a drink at Caesars.

post combo of the year 😀

What if he got blue Gatorade from Caesar's and put that in his car?

I bought a new car in 2017 and last year I checked the trade in value, and it was worth more than I paid. lol

It was because of shortage of chips needed to make new cars. I haven't checked recently, so don't know if it's still high prices, but probably is.

for sure cash games are worse during WSOP and the dealers are all over the place

I remember after one particularly brutal lineup we somehow got a really good dealer and begged the floor to let us pay double time to keep him at our table but no dice

I mostly go nowadays to hang out with buddies some of whom I rarely see outside WSOP and two weeks solo in Vegas is a much easier sell to wife than two weeks in Phuket

It doesn’t matter where Diesel plays at this point, WSOP, California, Shreveport (because TBC plays there). Diesel’s hourly at Council Bluffs last year was about the same as Vegas. Think about that, zero regs and tons of fish walking around with cash from their well-paying blue collar jobs at a meat packing plant or wherever else. He is calling off two pair on broadway flops, he is playing losing poker and needs to change things up.

Diesel needs to get his redline way up, right now he has an impotent redline. He doesn’t need a redline that would make a grinders dik hard but something other than straight down as he weeps about standard hands.

Council Bluffs sounds like a good time

Have you ever had the well scotch there?

About ten years ago at the Rio we had the best dealer I've ever seen. It was incredible the amount of hands we were getting especially since the action was really good. We gave the floor guy 100 bucks and she stayed at our table for about 4 hours. She got tipped extremely well the entire time and was in no rush to leave plus she said dealing NL was boring anyway.

In today’s video, Diesel asserts he wouldn’t see his friends in other cities if he wasn’t a traveling poker player. Someone should blow his mind with the idea of air travel.

Diesel should go on the next season of love on the spectrum

Diesel should go on the next season of love on the spectrum

Lol. Is that a real show?

Yep, seems to be popular, I see people talking about it on X and 8.6 on IMDB.

As We See It on Prime a few years ago was good, kind of the same thing.

anyone notice BluffaloSam pictured in the Ballys Commerce hype video by Wayne Chiang?

he's obviously the only vlogger at this point that actually is a real poker player and not some grifter wannabe content creator like 99% of the post covid vloggers. Glad to see him getting some cred and recognition in the poker community as a "rising star" which he is and not putting a misreg bum like Frankie, Brantzen, or Wolfgang even though they have more subscribers.

I've seen that show and its really good. And it's amazing that close to everyone on that show is more self-aware and reasonable than Rice. He would be way better off living with family and playing much better east coast poker at his leisure. But he loves to drive and travel and likes the freedom so I get it.
