Cousins to ATL chatter perculating

I’d give him 40M without blinking.

I think he’ll get more than that though

Cousins’ wife is from Atlanta. I know this because a poker buddy of mine is neighbors with Cousins’ wife’s parents.

It’s just a rollback to them.

It's crazy to me that there's going to be a bidding war to finish somewhere between 9-8 and losing in the first round of the playoffs.

How many years do you have to pay Cousins is what sucks. He is old but he is gonna want some years. Chances are good you will be paying for nothing after a year or two. Don't think any team should mind paying him 1 or 2, but what does that guy demand?

Even Rodgers only asked for two, he understands, and got money. Cousins is being over the top.

The bidding war is for the coach and GM to keep their jobs

My guess 2/95 full guaranteed

ru$tle still would be a good fit on a team that has a decent defense and running game. He can still throw bombs very well & can execute a screen game. Perfect for play action. He just isn't, and has never been, a good pocket passer. Which is what the lolborncos tried to make him.

also again lolborncos. what a dumpster fire that organization is now. who are they going to replace ru$tle with that is actually decent? jared stidham? lol

They might be the best 4-13 team in 2024

by tarheels2222 k

Pittsburgh could be interesting too, but that division is rough.

The division is rough, Tomlin is washed, and they have no real weapons.

If Russ, Kirk, or Fields ends up in Pittsburgh, they might as well retire.

6yr deal for the coach, wasn’t it? So he’ll be aiming yr 3 playoffs, yr 4 contend

Edit: 5yr. Same same with him though. His pov will be that they can’t win with Russ so will take huge pain this year and then move forward

they have no real weapons.

I guess I’m more bullish on their skill group.

Because anyone better usually doesn't make it to free agency

yeah, noted vikes fan big daddy drew (who really doesn't want kirk back) had the same to say:

Why would the Falcons want Cousins when they could draft a new guy instead?

Because, as nearly every report about this has indicated, Falcons owner Arthur Blank is 81 years old. That means that he is going to die soon. He doesn’t want to die going 7-10. He clearly wants to die going 9-8. And who's the best man for that job? I’ll tell you who: Kirk Daniel Cousins.

think i'd rather gamble on fields. sure it probably won't work, but i bet it'll be more fun. like does anyone actually think that has any championship equity? unless maybe he got airdropped on to a stacked team like the 29ers

Steelers have at least league average pass catchers

Freiermuth is a good, solid TE and then Pickens and Diontae were top 30 in dropped pass % despite both having very high ADT

Warren is also a decent pass catching back.

IMO their problems have been a bad O line, play called and QB

post NFL combine, here are my thoughts (in order) of who i hope is available at #18 for CIN to draft

JC Latham
Troy Fautanu
Byron Murphy II
Quinyon Mitchell

there's a chance none of these guys are available when pick #18 comes around. that said, i'm hoping at least one is bc i think the FO would choose that player (or one of the players if more than one of these playes are still on the board)

With the number of players who are almost guaranteed to come off the board before #18 unless they get injured or in trouble, it would almost need a perfect storm for all of them to be gone by then.

A lot might also depend on where WR #4 goes. I've seen mocks as early as #13 (LV) and as late as #28. Last year the first WR went #20 followed by the other 3 projected first rounders #21-23.

bills cutting multiple all-pros to reduce that cap number

Dom approved?

not sure, but some team will be happy to get Poyer
they also restructured Von to a low base+larger signing bonus+incentives deal

none of it will matter in the end
won't have a better chance than the past couple of years

Poyer was a UFA last year and ended up resigning here because the offers weren't out there.

Hyde is probably gone too.

Feel bad for Tre White. Awful injuries and he's only 29.

Mitch Morse is solid. He'll find a landing spot.

yep, and now he was cut. he still has a bit of tread left on the tire and if he want's to play it will likely be at a discounted price.

Apparently not worth $8.5mil for next season though? Wasn't he integral in the designed run plays for Josh Allen?

IIRC, when Morse signed with Buffalo after 4 years in KC they made him the highest paid center in the league at that time.

bills trade up first round to get jackson powers-johnson out of oregon if the eagles don't beat 'em to it

Morse turns 32 next month

Poyer turns 33 next month

NFL players' abilities begin to decline quite rapidly as the number next to the 3 increases. nothing wrong w wanting to get younger. it's one of the things i love about CIN's FO approach / philosophy

yep, everything has to rotate at one time or another
