My point is if I was spymaster and had pumpkin + server this seems like a solid clue

My best guess here is Washington, yes.
I'm convinced Thanksgiving *excludes* server. You think it clues it. I don't think we can resolve that. I'm apparently outvoted, so roll with it.
Two questions because I'm kind of on the fence here.
* Is there some connection between George Washington and Thanksgiving?
* Are we at all concerned about Washington being one of their last words?
No major George Washington connection I'm aware of.
I see no particular reason, given the word list, to expect Washington is theirs.
So are you both still very strong on Server/Washington with me having to break the tie?
I'm wavering slightly thinking there could be something like latte for server + pumpkin but there's stuff like nut and mint blocking it
But wouldn't Washington + Pumpkin just be apple - 2 or maybe cherry?

after red's turn one, I looked at the list for the first time and saw he had cruise/apple or similar paths to get there in 2 more clues so I knew I had only 2 shots
CPR was the easier one
the other 4 words were basically Adventure Treasure Hunt movies with Aztec/Atlantis and then Smuggler/Tail (there are always bad guys tailing the good guy in National Treasure, Indiana Jones, Goonies, Mummy, etc etc bc the bad guys are dumb and only the good guy can solve the riddles/beat the traps)
Indy not Indiana to avoid Washington and a little tail equity for Indy 500
tablet was a blocker, but nothing I could do about it
Sigh, you should've listened to neil. There are roughly 1 bajilion better clues for pumpkin/server that I'm borderline offended you would think that's the best clue I could come up with for that combo.
Washington/pumpkin was damn near impossible imo. Initial plan was to do Carver, but nut was on the board so I had to scrap it. Well actually, initial plan was to try to clue so I didn't have to connect pumpkin with anything, but obviously that wasn't happening. Thanksgiving was the best I could come up with. I know it wasn't super obvious, but I thought you could reason it out. Oh well, gg.

I've literally never heard of a washington apple, and I know lots of cocktails. Nobody thinks of pumpkin as a fruit, and I see no reason why apple would hit that over server or mint or nut. Thanksgiving is specifically NOT a food, but a traditional American holiday, so it was supposed to keep you away from server. Meanwhile, there are tons of actual foods/drinks I could've used instead. Even just something like dish or dinner would've been better.
Also, if I clue Cruise, there's no way I'd expect you to guess Washington there. You'd guess jet because of Top Gun, and possibly even ahead of missile, so we'd be in even worse shape.
