Things that shouldn't piss you off, but do.

Things that shouldn't piss you off, but do.

Feel free to add your own. I'll give two really quick.

1. This girl I'm friends with on facebook makes a post about how she is now pregnant. (She's 19 btw) obviously every random girl she is friends with on facebook felt the need to congratulate her on such an amazing accompolishment. That was midly annoying to sift through, but I understand it's a big deal and all...I just have a cold heart as of late lol.

Anyways about 2hrs later she makes a new post about being pregnant because the first wasn't enough. Awesome. Like 15 mins ago she makes ANOTHER post about it saying "Can't sleep, tummy hurts, hello prego life 😀😀"

It took every ounce of my energy not to type something extremely rude like, "we ****ing get it, your pregnant."

2. Me and my friend drive 30 mins to play beerpong with these chics we met randomly one night. 2 are definitely good looking....ones a chubbba wubba though. Ok lookin face but yeah....Anyways were all playing BP along with 2 other dudes that we didnt know would be there..( I guess I understand them wanting to have 2 of their guy friends there since we've never formally hungout, but whatever...) my friend randomly makes comments the whole time whenever the chubba wubba talks to me such as "that's all you" or "wheres your girl at" when she leaves the room.

Any clue why he feels the need to say things like that? He's always been considering kind of the **** blocking type amongst our ground of friends even if it's never negatively effected me. J/W if someone can get all psychological on me and tell me why he always does that.

Until recently I didn't even know that the "ton" in truck payload capacity was actually 2000lb and not 1000kg.

that there is also a "long ton" which is 1016.047 kg

That's almost as stupid as the "metric mile" which is sometimes used to describe a 1500m race (the standard mid distance in international track & field) while US high schools use the term to describe a 1600m race because almost every track built since the 70s actually uses 400m instead of a quarter mile for a lap in the inner lane.

To make it even more ridiculous, the track where we previously did our speed work at has another thin line marker 9.34m past the start/finish line so you can complete a statute mile by doing four laps plus that bit.

Equally stupid in swimming. 1500m which is a popular long pool swim distance and the standard "Olympic" distance in triathlon is called a swimmer's mile. When I got asked for the first time about my mile time I was totally confused because how the F do you know your 1609m time in the pool? Then I figured they're talking about 1600m so I just added 100m to my 1500m time.

Adding on to this - the European way of doing dates. My wife works for an international organization. She uses the European way most of the time. But only most of the time. So if she writes 5/8/24 I have no idea if she means next month or next summer. Why can't everyone just be like USA#1?

The different formats do seem to make sense given American vs Euro ways of saying the date out loud (like "April 12th" vs "12th of April"), but then it raises the chicken-and-egg question of whether the written format came as a result of the way it's said, or vice versa.

I won't say I don't like Tom Sawyer but I am sick of hearing it and it isn't close to their best song. Does that count?

It's literally the only Rush song I'll change the station for or skip over in a random playlist, but I did like the song up until I heard it for the 10000th time, so if it's similar for you, yeah probably doesn't count.

A better example might be a band with one (or very few) mainstream hits. Like I would assume a ton of hardcore Dead fans don't particularly like "Touch of Grey", maybe?

Speaking as a 'soft-core' Dead fan, Truckin'. That's the one I'll skip.

(~60 shows thru 1995, plus a handful of the more recent iterations)

that's because touch of grey is a huge departure for them from their typical music, the kind of people who love the dead wouldn't be deeply into a more generic pop song like that

tom sawyer is just as weird as all the other rush stuff

Pretty much my point. So I guess basically Bank is posting correctly, because that shouldn't piss him off lol.

Saw an SUV with a 13.1 sticker and a 26.2 sticker. Once you do a marathon you should be required to remove the 13.1.

I know when I bowl my first 300 game, the 150 sticker comes off 😀

Ooh, that's a good addition to the thread even though you weren't making it an addition.

I did laugh the first time I saw a 0.0 sticker though.

Can you keep the 26.2 after doing a 50k?

What about 26.2 and 70.3 at the same time or 140.6?

With apologies to the sedentary itt, there shouldn’t be a 13.1 sticker in the first place

People who don't work remote.

I’d love to work remote, but it’s simply not possible with my job. And if I don’t do my job, you don’t get to watch TV.
