Really happy for Diesel getting this dealing job. Huge step in the right direction to financial stability and because of that mental stability. As much as we hate on his bad decisions I have to give him props for finally taking a positive action.

I might have to come out for WSOP this year and pepper him with questions on the music being played, or Trooper or 80s Mets trivia.

Though I guess I only play cash and I don't think Orleans lets the temp dealers deal cash.

Agreed. Now lets see if he is able to finish this planned work period for like 4-6 weeks, and actually log the hours like he have been talking about and not coming up with lame excuses/lol rationale to quit.

... If you find that you dont get views, you may have to dumb down your content, which really is too bad.

Do you still play plo? I remember you from way back in the day, last I heard of you I think you were grinding 6 card plo or something. Hope to see a plo vlog from you in the future.

Half surprised the views weren't better this morning but I get it. Just started and 3 vids now. With that said, this video retention for subs is like 80%, but drops severely for non-subs (like 25%). As for PLO, not allowed to touch it anymore. Got married/family now, losing 10k in a single session would get me shredded. Heck even when I lose $1K at 2-5NL for this recording I get shredded. You'd think my wife who has 4+ years of poker at .25/.50c games would know better.

sound issues are gone and sounds great

i think this is a big improvement over the the previous in all facets

love how you don't just talk pure strat but also give the narratives behind it as well - will be subbing

Much love fam. Glad the sound is fixed. Seems like board position is AOKAY. Everything else we'll slowly tweak

Update: I spoiled the first hand by showing Villains hand and wanted to see if click-rate goes up on YT (I dont want to do it this way).

Rice will struggle getting in the hours to make diamond while working full time.

Rice will be able to keep his diamond status.
His diamond plus status and free milk shakes and Gatorade are a gonna.

by DrDownLow

Diesel is a huge disappointment to all us 1/2 nl grinders just trying to avoid working for the man

Trooper is so disappointed in what Rice has become.

by angle_shooter

Some people just enjoy being miserly, regardless of how much they have.

This.
Money won't change Rice one iota.

by Horsey McHorseface

O/U when Diesel gets fired for packing up boxes of food to go from employee dining?

Would not surprise me at all.

by Turdzilla

He hasn't bowed to the Man yet. Let's see how long he lasts.

Keeping the job will be a challenge for Rice.
My money says he won't make the duration.

It's not like we're talking about Pman. Diesel actually grinds poker. If Diesel is talking about wanting to deal as much as possible, he will actually do it.

only until his bosses or coworkers dont treat him like the genius that he is

I have no doubt he will do his best but we've seen enough track history to see he is not capable of holding down a job.

by Koshka

Dealing is a lot more strenuous than just sitting there and folding.
I predict Diesel/Rice won't put in anywhere near the hours he has talked about.

Dealing does get tiring, especially mentally.
I usually play cash after to relax.

Are there any limits on what dealers can vlog about the game?

The players, action, floor decisions, food, idiot moves/comments/dress/smell/sexual preferences?

There is a Las Vegas dealer that split his vlog between talking about things that happen while dealing poker and his garage sale/ebay side hustle.

He would talk about a lot of things, never mentioning names, and keeping it somewhat respectful since he does work for tips. lol

But he would unleash a bit on the real *******s.

Discretion is definitely part of being in the casino business. So identifying anyone in a vlog would definitely be out of line.

He will struggle getting in the hours to make diamond while working full time, particularly with the amount he likes to jump around properties.

That's why I said he would have to play the double TC games, they only require half the hours.

Surely if he is dealing full time he should be able to afford more stable housing and not be so reliant on comps for rooms/food/drinks etc

Huge difference between his housing costs now and paying $1k a month or so. He'll prob be able to afford it, but it would take a big bite out of his dividend fund.

by parisron

He is a temp dealer so no benefits I would think, but most poker dealers get access to free food in the employee dining room for at least 1 meal per shift plus all the fountain drinks, coffee, condiments, etc. they want. I would think The Orleans offers that, but don't know.

I guess we will know when El Diesel talks about the free food he gets with a big grin on his face.

Usually no. It's totally separate departments

Although they sometimes do make blackjack dealers deal poker during WSOP, etc.

Hard to believe they would let a dealer at WSOP film the hands openly

by steve420wa

Free food is one of the most amazing perks. That's the one thing Amazon had going for it, a decent free self serve Indian place.

Well it wasn't technically free, I just never paid. Allegedly. I have zero regrets.

However this could spell doomsday for El D's waistline. I'd speculate +10lbs after first four weeks

Big tech places around Silicon Valley often have free kitchens. SAP would bring in a different gourmet chef every Friday.

Did he say he wouldn't deal cash? The temps certainly do at WSOP. If he deals tournament only, he'd only be able to get 10-11 hours per day.

Diesel should cocktail waitress at my casino for the big bucks. They get 15 an hour plus tips. That would crush his highest year hourly by yuge number. Hell, that beats most jobs.

A friend of mine temp dealt Orleans during 2021 WSOP. I thought he only dealt tournaments. I could be misremembering, though.

Rice really hits the big drum when he is taking a day off his poker crushing "enjoying" San Fran. His only meal through the whole day according to him is a hummus dip+ a huge breadroll.

a little tilting to watch him call that "raw duck" when anyone that has been outside their suburb knows it's not.

for someone like him who grew up in New York was kinda weird him seeing a fire alarm box for the first time.

he definitely doesn't drive NYC streets .

Its also massive lol+ kind of phatetic to see him talk about how "cool" it is to watch them make the food, but of course he lives like a homeless person so he doesent buy anything to actually try the food like most people making a vlog like this would do.

Yeah. Such an action packed day for Rice in SF. He gets through his exciting itinerary of walking and visiting parks/playgrounds/chinatown by around midday so has 7 hours left to kill until it's time to head back to the airport. The highlight for him is seeing some ducks hanging inside a Chinese restaurant.

He gets this monster bread and tub of garlic hummus dip which he puts the remainder of in his pocket to eat at the airport later. I mean of everything he could possibly get to eat that's what he chose. He finds the thing that will make his breath the smelliest for the remainder of his 48 hrs without a room challenge. Imagine being the lucky player stuck next to him at the poker table when he gets back to Vegas and still has 12 hours to kill before his room check-in. Or the lucky person stuck next to him in the exit row on the plane.

An obvious reason would be that the WSOP sells the right to broadcast the tournament to media companies.

Maybe Rice owns ESPN.
