More people may take more time using their allowed shot clot time than they normally would.

WSOP does a $600 with 40/60. One of the best events on the schedule every year.

Have to look closely because some of their $600s are 30 min levels aka glorified one day tournaments.

Played the $600 deep stack last year and enjoyed the 40/60.. might have to do with the fact that I finished 10th.

Ya sounds weird but I’m for anything that prevents excessive tanking and seems like the bubble would move a good bit faster at 25% pay than 10-15.

Round for round instead of hand for hand might work better. With say 4 from bubble you deal 9 more hands at all tables. When complete if 6 bust out then those 6 will split payouts for 2 people. This way there is no need to stall as all tables have to play 9 hands.

How do you all feel about the skill level in a $1,500? I've heard your table draw in wsop events can be key but I'm a winning 2-5nl player and feel more confident with deeper stacks so thought that might be my best event for the lower buy in?

Last time I was in town for the WSOP I played a mix of deepstacks, STTs, and smaller events at other casinos, along with a $1500. The $1500 was by far my softest starting table all week. It's very much luck of the draw especially in the bigger fields, but as others have said, it's likely to get progressively tougher the further you go. By comparison the table I was moved to in the last part of the evening was probably the toughest I played on all week, with three big-stacked euros to my left, including eventual winner Barney Boatman.

the difference between tables in sub 3k/above 3k at the wsop is like another world. you'll prob be the best player at most tables in a 1.5k

I'm so gutted that I wont make it out this year. Its hurts man, it hurts.

Bc shot clocks are still way too long but a step in the right direction.

I don't know what they do lately at WSOP but playing cash at Venetian and I heard them make the Tournament announcement on shot clock, for day 2 only not day 1, and its 20 seconds pre flop and 30 seconds post flop and I think you get like 5 or 6 extension chips.

I’m not sure if 3k is the right threshold here. I played the 2.5k Omaha 8/Stud 8 event a few times, and always thought my starting tables at that event were orders or magnitude tougher than anything I ever saw in the 1.5k Omaha 8 events.

(I vividly recall sitting with a Main Event runner-up to my immediate left in the 2.5k OE, and when he busted he was immediately replaced by -another- Main Event runner-up!)

The 2.5k OE is my fav. WSOP event.

The 2.5k OE is my fav. WSOP event.

Oh I love the structure of the event and wish there were more events like this. Maybe I just got unlucky draws, but it’s also the only WSOP event where I immediately felt outclassed both times I played it. (I’ve never played a 5k or higher FWIW.)

I actually really like this idea

Round for round sounds nice in theory but *******s would still stall so that they could try to get info from other tables

Unofficial final table?

yup.. and I completely punted.

had chips (quantity) the whole day 3.. at FT had chips but they were all big denomination(quality not quantity), so I think mentally I didn't realize that I had 20ish bbs.. shoved when I didn't need to.

open 77 from UTG, cutoff raised, I jammed, he called with JJ

funny thing is that I played it so bad, that JJ probably should have thought longer than 2 secs before calling.. UTG open then 4b jam.. I'm not loving it if I'm sitting with JJ in that spot.

Don't see much universe where 3b/fold JJ for 20bb eff is a thing.

by TheFly k

Maybe when only 10% of field got paid.

Exactly right.

Main Event min cash has been $15k since 2015.

From 2007 to 2014 it ranged from $18,406 to $21,365.

Before then it was pretty random, with a low of $7,070 in 1992 and a high of $25,000 in 1998.

They used to have payouts lower than the entry fee? Hahahaha that's hilarious.

Flatter payout structure is better for volatility, right? So if they're keeping the same 15% field payout but paying more to the lower end, then that's a good thing all else equal.

With no shotclock, stalling will be insane.

I think they should just try to figure out ways around this as in 2024 the stalling is going to be so severe. For example you can just say we set aside 15% of the prizepool for mincash, everyone alive after level 17 gets a mincash splitting that prizepool. The last level you play a set number of hands. No reason to stall anymore, no advantages for getting out of your seat, and so on.

Once the bubble bursts, just charge a dollar for every second over a 30 second allocation. That money is deducted from however much you would have cashed and partially redeposited into the prize pool and partially distributed to the dealers as a forced tip.

WSOP Online schedule out when?

Supposed to be some kind of announcement about something tomorrow according to Kevmath. Hopefully, it’s about the online series and much more.

Is there a definitive answer to how many bullets can be fired into the monster or milly?

3 starting flights.

Many believe 1 reentry per flight: 6 buys
Many believe can re enter next day: 3 buy
Others say can reenter flight B OR flight C, not both: 2 buys

by DogFace k

The Monster Stack and Milly Maker are great options. I've played the Monster twice. Table draw is random and you can get unlucky, but a rough guess would be 1-2 random pro types and then mostly tourists and rec players. I don't think it's anything to be scared of if you're beating 2/5.

As with all tournaments, the sledding will get tougher as you get deeper. Day two starting table is likely to have at least a couple tough players.

Yea. I'm glad to hear that. I'd assume I shouldn't have to get in there and gamble too much as someone is likely to give me their chips over the course of 10 hours of play. I'm really pumped man. No expectations, so coming in loose I think I'll play way better.

I reached out to the PayFiniti team to get more information on their new service and how the crypto currency options are going to work. Seems like a potential game changer for all poker events if you are able to "officially" deposit and withdraw to crypto.

1) Which cryptos will be able to be connected?

PayFiniti is proud to work with a partner that owns and operates their own exchange platform -- making it easy to add additional cryptocurrencies to meet customer demand. Currently, our exchange partner supports the most active cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ether, DASH, XRP, USDC on Ethereum and Polygon blockchains, USDT on Ethereum, Tron, and Polygon blockchains, MATIC, and TRX. This robust selection allows PayFiniti users to fund their accounts with some of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the market.

2) What are the fees when depositing, withdrawing and spending in general?

The fee for loading or withdrawing funds will vary depending on the program platform, operator, and the user’s connected financial institution.

There are currently three options for loading the PayFiniti mobile cashless wallet – ACH (only in the US), Cryptocurrency, or Wire Transfers. The fees are as follows: 2.5% for ACH, which is less than the 2.75% fee charged last year at the WSOP, Crypto transfers have a 3% fee, and wire transfers for a flat fee of $25. Therefore, the larger the load transfer amount, the more attractive and cost-effective the flat fee of a wire transfer becomes. Additional options such as credit/debit cards are currently in development.

There are no fees for users to move or transfer funds from the PayFiniti mobile cashless wallet to any linked wallet within the PayFiniti app. There are two options for withdrawals – ACH (only in the US) for a flat fee of $2 and Crypto for a fee of 4%. We are in the process of developing a wire transfer option.

PayFiniti’s fee structure is implicit in our value proposition, which provides flexibility of use, rapid completion of the transaction, regulatory compliance and verification tests, and the security provided by FDIC protection.

3) How safe/secure is the money in this wallet and what makes it that way?

PayFiniti follows, adheres to, and complies with the latest digital and electronic banking security standards. All client/user funds are held securely by our U.S. banking partner and are FDIC insured.

4) Can you connect wallets like Paypal, venmo, cashapp?

We don't have direct connections with platforms such as PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App at this time. However, we are constantly evaluating opportunities to enhance our services and broaden our reach, and integrating with these platforms could be a consideration for our future roadmap.

5) What is your plan to bring this around the poker world so everyone can have access to it if they are doing their events?

PayFiniti serves as a universal mobile cashless wallet utilized by players domestically and internationally, offering a seamless and secure payment solution for various transactions. As we look towards expanding our presence, domestically as well as globally, we are actively pursuing partnerships with gaming operators that leverage Bravo TBIC for entries and registrations. This strategic collaboration extends to sportsbooks and other third-party entities within the gaming industry, which would facilitate the transfer of funds from the PayFiniti app to external wallets or other integrated platforms.

6) Rules around transferring money as the payment processor.

Payfiniti is not a payment processor but rather a universal mobile cashless e-wallet -- adhering to and complying with strict regulations and guidelines governing money transfers. Our operations align with anti-money laundering (AML) laws, know your customer (KYC) requirements, and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations to ensure the integrity and security of financial transactions. Additionally, we enforce rules on transaction amounts to prevent fraud and money laundering, and we monitor transactions for suspicious activity, reporting any concerns to the relevant authorities. For both domestic and international customers, we verify identities by collecting personal information and documentation, running OFAC, CIP, and passport verification checks, while also ensuring compliance with data protection regulations to safeguard customer privacy and security.
