Who would you like to see in HCL Million Dollar Cash Game

Who would you like to see in HCL Million Dollar Cash Game

Some time ago HCL announced that they will be streaming a cash game with minium buy-in of million dollars.

Who would you like to see playing in it?

My list:

1. Rick Salomon

Absolutely fearless, plays fast and loose and puts people in tough spots all the time. Has good feel for the live game.

2. Andrew Robl

Nice to have some super pro also in the mix. Robl is entertaining and fearless.

3. Alan Keating

Well, Keating is Keating. Guaranteed action.

4. Hanz

That huge bluff against Keating earned Hanz a spot in my line up.

5. Eric Persson

I don’t like his antics that much but Eric creates a very unpredictable dynamic to the table. He can throw players off their game or just punt his stack in one hand.

6. Nik Airball

It’s good to have few villains in the table also. Loose and aggressive, can win or lose big. I don’t know how much he would play his villain image in this group though.

7. Tony G drunk

I just remember one Triton cash game from Montenegro when Tony G was hammered and he was just super funny and loosy goosy. If he is sober, he just is fasting and nitting it up drinking his bone broth.

8. Rui Cao

Action, action, action. Funny guy and brings good energy to the game.

9. JRB drunk

JRB is not a good player and his poker is not that interesting but he is funny and can keep the atmosphere in the table. Player like this is also needed.

(10.) Garret Addelstein

I have mixed feelings about Garret. He is a legend but I feel too much focus would go on the Robbi drama so I would leave him out from this one.

Why do they pretend like there isn't infinite players who would willingly fill up that table instantly lol. Just say it'd break the game if they let people sit because it'd be full of dry super pros. But noo instead it's "there aren't people willing to put up a million just like that" YES THERE IS LOL

Day 2 should break now and give crew the rest before rest of the days instead.

Sure part of it is that people willing to play in the game are "dry" pros, but a bigger problem is that they are very good pros, so the more mediocre players arent willing to play them. The combination of "willing to put up 1m" and "not so good that the other players feel intimidated" is extremely slim.

No one who has seen Action Dan play is surprised at all that he lost and that when he does lose, his play seems tilted and bad. The dude has been sunrunning on a Rampage level lately and his play is suicidal. 5betting garbage is par for the course, and he seems unable to fold rivers.

i'm multi-tabling HU PLO at the same time as taking screen shots and cropping them in MS Paint. i did not have time to take a screenshot of all of the stats. are you always this much of an *******? wtf.

and you're welcome, once again.

Why bother if you can't do it right or spare 5 seconds to click rewind and pause?

Yesterday recap

Game played 6 handed after Texas Mike was unable to play again due to health condition. Brandon Steven wasn't in the lineup after he was originally scheduled.

Peter god moded and won $1,000,000 before randomly leaving a few hours into the game. Action Dan was getting crushed up until that point and looked ready to die as he saw Peter start to rack up the chips. Action Dan eventually busted vs Steve quads and was out of there before the game broke shortly after.

Doug wore a t-shirt to announce the expansion of The Lodge - buying Rounders Club in San Antonio. Didn't get to see much action between Dwan and Polk as Doug was attempting to get revenge after last years game.

30,000 people in the chat were going absolutely nuts when Peter racked up demanding he be banned from the show for the savage hit and run while killing the game.

Show ended with 27,000 people still in the chat as they called the game early 4 handed.

For today

Alan Keating and Santhosh set to make their debut in tonight's show while Texas Mike also returns....

What does this even mean? I did nothing wrong; I just didn't have time to post all statistics. I won't be apologizing for not doing enough, when I've been the only one posting updates.

I was going to provide updates during my grind tonight and tomorrow night as well, but I'll save myself the time and refrain from doing so since it's obvious it's not the least but appreciated. Luckily kerr's time is not precious, as so I'm certain he'll be providing updates instead!

Unreal.

Anything shown is a bonus .. thanks for the effort. It's not like we're getting paid here.

After Doug really didn't want to play 4-handed he did make a comeback against Durr in one of the last couple hands. After losing with QQ and at least one other bad River he was down almost 300k before catching up in the last orbit or so. Still booked a loss, but it was much smaller than it could've been at Durr's expense.

Peter is getting paid off as they just can't believe that he 'has it' every time .. has he even been caught making a move? And from what I've seen he really hasn't made bad calls, it's just that he was unknowingly behind and caught up or was in a Cooler spot that went his way.

These guys are super deep .. they're not just going to pile in trips or over-pairs like a lot of Players would do in their normal game. Deep stacked Poker is different, more like tournament play in a lot of aspects.

They didn't give a lot of detail about Peter, but Steve was talking about "the only way Peter can hold onto chips is by racking up or leaving the table" so there may have been a little bit of history or at least reputation that the other Players knew about .. which may have affected their play against him.

I do believe that commentators (Slick Rick especially) on a lot of streams know how the hand is going to end up .. or at least get the heads up from someone to pay attention. They are on a delay .. and I don't really want to go down the rabbit hole of who has access to hole cards and such .. did I say they are on a delay? Some streams go out of their way to point out that the commentators "are seeing this for the fist time" but even then there's some doubt at times. GL

lol at the keyboard warriors saying Peter should be banned for racking up and leaving after winning another million dollars..

I don't think we're going out on a limb to suggest that Peter doesn't 'need' HCL to provide a poker game to him. You could hear the Players (hopefully) joking about calling the next game on the list and then quickly back-tracking a bit as to not throw shade at Ryan.

HCL has run into this before with Andy getting upset about a spot where either the game broke early or a specific Player booked a win and he didn't have a chance at making a comeback. GL

Good on Peter for taking the bumhunters' money and leaving. Hes probably the only reason a few of them are even in the game.

Most commentators are on a delay and are in communication with production so they are aware when a big hand is going to go down

We commentate most of the time on a 30-60 min delay depending on the arena. You will sometimes have a spreadsheet for which hand happens when so if you wanted to create narratives around that in your commentary you could do that - similar to how they would do it for completely produced content after the fact depending on what took place inside the action.

Texas Mike + Santosh + Keating is maybe too much gamble, should be a ridiculous show

What did you guys think of yesterdaysÂ’ pregame show? I loved the banter between Doug and Hook and this sort of thing could have alot of potential if you just cut out unnecessary components (Tuch, Veronica, Nick). I think Mariano could even host it as he has understanding of different spots snd likes the social exposure.

But you definitely need the players who are playing to be part of the pre game. I think Nivk does ok job as a host but he would need someone as co host with more poker knowledge.

Tuchmans comments about Veronica in pre game show and during the stream were really akward ”do something useful and get us a coffee” almost like he is ridibg on the wave knowing that most of the audience wouldn’t want Veronica there and kind of bullying her. This was spineless from Tuch, I thought he is stand up guy but seems to be quite weak man.

Regarding the play yesterday, Action Dan was clearly not 100%, I think he has sone flu or something and the game is too big for him. Shyed away from multiple bluff spots and spewed in other ones. He is young guy so this will be valuable lesson for him.

There was weird dynamic between Dwan and Polk where they seemed to all the time needle each other in not so jokingly but at the same time you could see they both have respect for esch others game. Funniest momrnt was when Doug revealed t-shirt promoting his new casino, Dwan started to immideately attach his own sponsor stickers to his t shirt.

If todayÂ’s line up has Texas Mike, Santosh, Kesting, Peter, it doesnt really even matter who the other players are. I think they will break the biggest pot record tonight.

Does anyone know what happened to HCL high rollers Krish and Reza?

Confirmed Busto?

The only ailment Action Dan was suffering from last night was Funzalow..

Day 2 was ok I guess. Peter was ridiculous, absolute god mode then pulled a massive hit n run. Well, it looked very much like a hit and run but cant ever know the reality. It did add to the lols though.

Handz played well I thought. Nice calls with the A highs (AQ v Doug and AT v Dan). Absolutely brutal session for Dan, fingers crossed it turns around for him.

Really good line up tonight, hope it runs for longer than last night.

Hated it myself and Brill more or less forcing Tom to do an interview in the middle of the game was kinda shitty

Nick, Ryan, and Veronica all seem like people I would have zero interest in being around.

Steve has certainly played a lot of poker by the style of his play and donk betting trying to induce. However, most players know not to talk about the hand while it is multi-way. Saying that I have an 8 when it's 4 handed is clearly out of bounds even in most home games. He's done this multiple times and none of the other players are even telling him to keep quiet.

He just loves to talk while he's in the hand regardless if it's head up or not. Any decent poker stream would have told him to s

It's just using your judgement. Sure, what Steve says about hands while they are being played would technically be crossing the line. That's his thing though, constantly blabbing about the hand, sometimes true , sometimes not true. But it's generally fun and good natured. That is why the other players aren't complaining. They are just using their judgment as humans. Now if those same words were suddenly spoken during a hand by a different player not known to talk like that, trying to angle another player people would have a problem with it.

I might be having a tough time trying to convey what I mean. Let me try an analogy I think is similar.:

Two identical looking males trying to compliment a woman on her looks can speak the same exact words. Depending on the tone and presentation of those words the woman can be either , flattered and appreciate the compliment, or she can be creeped out and worried for her safety.

Personally I'd have no problem with what Steve does playing in my games. Doubt others would either when playing.

Think people are a little to fast to want to **** on HCL. Lets just wait and see how things look after the whole week. People are a little quick on the trigger to call the million dollar game a failure.

Day 1 .....lineup looked pretty meh at first site, but it turned out to be great.

Day 2 ..... after day 1 , expectations were higher and it turned out to be a bit of a flop, with a couple players dropping out, game ending early , etc

Lets just see what happens the rest of the week.

If I remember correctly, last year was a roller coaster. Day 1 disappointed. Then day 2 was great out of no where. Then I think they had to totally cancel a day, as bad as it gets. Then the last day was great! Might not be 100% accurate but my point is it can be hard to predict.

So today is
Dwan
Steve
Brandon Stevens
Keating
And Texas Mike

No longer says Peter or Santosh… One guy busts or isn’t feeling it, and game teeters on existing.
I guess Texas Mike has heart issues and said he’s in today but if he feels bad he’s out

You need more players…

Hmm thought Santosh was supposed to be playing tonight (as well as tomorrow)? Also no Peter lmao, after many guarantees were given when he was leaving last night he would play tonight haha. Still, Keating is an amazing addition, Texas Mike is back plus a mystery special guest.....
