i'd imagine so. Programing a solver means you have to like poker. And a business can be made for that especially in NLHE/PLO however with omaha hi/lo the programmer would have to be a hi/lo enthusiast, but if he's already an enthusiast he'll probably not want to release that program out into the wild.

Which is good for us mixed game players 😃

Santosh is a "pro crusher" now?

Santosh is a "pro crusher" now?

For who he is, he’s a solid player. He does better than a lot of the VIPs in the lineups he plays in. Obviously there’s variance but he has a few super high roller titles (I think, I qualify $100k and up as SHR) and you can’t be clueless and pull that off. Not to mention it’s kind of funny that Ike has like 48 Triton cashes with no title and Santosh had one or two. I think he won one the first stop he ever played

Assuming you’re referring to my post, that string of responses is about Tollerene’s J9 v Mateos’ QT on T8x7T

Looks like Hellmuth is going to max late reg due to being up until 5:30am

7pm PST stream tonight. lol

The main room was packed today with every table going, 10 handed from what I saw.

I got my Colossus ticket.

Ridiculously late PokerGO start, imo.

I was playing with the player of the year numbers on the wsop poy page and I feel like too much emphasis is placed on buy in amount and not enough of field size.

What about number of days or levels played x time of level?

Are we rewarding skill, or overall performance?

You could argue that the $50k would be harder to win than a $1k event

you would think but I was watching that famous poker documentary, Nosebleed today just cuz it happened to appear in my YT feed and Alex Luneau (Biatchpeople/Alexonmoon) said the 50k PPC is a lot softer than the nosebleed games he played around 2015 ($1k/$2k & $4k/$8k stakes)

Judging by some of the hands I've see on PokerNews I can see that being the case lol

For ex:

2-7 TD

Maksim Pisarenko raised and Johannes Becker called. Naoya Kihara re-raised and both opponents called.

Becker drew three, Kihara drew one and Becker two. Becker checked, Kihara bet and got two calls.

Becker drew two, Kihara one and Becker two. Becker checked, Kihara bet and got two calls.

Becker stood pat, drawing a puzzled look from Kihara, before he and Becker drew one. All three players checked.

Becker tabled JT732 and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Even this hand is pretty sub-optimal:

Razz

Jared Bleznick: XXX-9-3-4-9-X

Mike Lang: XXX-4-2-10-4-X

Mike Lang bet on fourth street, Jared Bleznick raised, and Lang called.

Bleznick bet on fifth and Lang called. Bleznick fired out another bet on sixth and Lang stuck around to see seventh.

Both players checked down seventh and Bleznick showed Ax5x4x for 9-5-4-3-A to win the pot.

EDIT:

Woops i read this wrong...

I'll leave this post though cuz it still conveys what I was thinking that overall the 50k might not be as tough as one would think (for someone that plays a lot of mixed games that is. If you do not play a lot of mixed games then yah it'll be tough obviously lol)

Yeah my mistake. Was referring to the $50k NLHE. Probably applies to both, though.

That documentary was good. I still think about how it would go with a mix of the legendary online and live mixed game players in a long running big game like what Bobby’s Room used to be.

Agree, although for me, I had to raise my eyebrow at the sight of Gus Hansen's name. Has he been around the WSOP as of late? I see his last cash was years ago, but then he was never one to put in a lot of volume at the Series.

I've heard there are some very big mixed cash games going on behind the scenes in Vegas right now. He will be there for that.

I had an argument with a friend recently over whether or not Santhosh is an absolute fish or not. My take was he's not great but a lot better than you might give him credit for with his demeanor and everything. I feel vindicated in that now, someone who is not great but very underestimated can be just as dangerous as someone who is great and you know it IMO.

He's also been putting in a lot of hours at the cash game tables, especially the ones that are streamed on HCL.

Santhosh, like anyone, is obviously gonna be an underdog to all the gto math solver based basement dwelling hand history sharing nerds but he can clearly play. You don't get this many victories in such tough tournaments without having some top level game. I particulary enjoyed his overbet jam with the nuts on the river last night after checking back the flop and raising turn.

Blom must've won a decent sized pot because Pokernews chip counts show him rising from 43rd (last place) to 29th place. Showing +180k in chips. I was expecting an update to show a Blom elimination. Glad that's not the case just yet.

Anyone know what happened with that?

Ivey, Grinder, Lindgren and some others on the Twitch stream!!

Now 21st with 670K, 300K starting stack. Just scooped versus Mercier with a low straight in stud 8. Don't know what happened before.

Jared Bleznick: "It's going to change right now"

Bleznick is absolutely hilarious

Anyone know how the Landon Tice/Jeremy Becker crossbook is shaping up?

ETA: Tice was in the line ahead of me at the payout window late this evening, but I didn't think it wise to ask him.

Bad for Tice, he's down a decent amount for the summer, at least in live play. Biggest cash between them is Becker for about 20k getting 4th in a Wynn turbo daily.
