ZOLTAN!

We’ve never met Davo but I feel fairly certain I’d find an opportunity to slow roll you if we played

It is so clearly +EV against me specifically (puts me on instant monkey tilt, blind 40x raises and such), I’m surprised more of the regulars haven’t started doing it.

Also, former chat threader Chris Brewer 2/3 on FT of $50k PPC and the best places to keep DNegs from winning another bracelet

Go OregonDuckTrackStar, or whatever your SN was.

OK, WTF is up with the region SPC is coming up on? Big Creek Pounding Area?

for you both

In today's edition of, poker will always be good:

I overlimped KK UTG+1, MP opens, gets a train of callers, and I re-raise. One of the callers decided he had enough of the "nit playing 1 hand an hour" and 4 bet me to 60 big blinds. We were about 160 big blinds effective so I fist-pump jammed. Dude had 76 suited. LOL.

After the hand, which I won, the fish starts talking **** about me to his friend in Chinese, not realizing that I understand every word. "He's the tightest player in the world, he plays 1 hand an hour." OK first of all, I'm nowhere close to a nit (though I understand why someone who limp-calls garbage would consider me to be one), and even if I were a nit, what does it say about your game if you keep paying off someone that you deem to be a nit?

He kept going, "you just gotta keep pushing him until you get him." You mean you gotta keep jamming the worst hand against me until you suck out? Solid strategy, buddy.

I get a sadistic sense of satisfaction from hearing bad regs tilt and complain about how bad the game is, when they aren't self aware enough to know why they are awful.

There is a pro I’ve been playing with for maybe 4 years give or take. He has owned my soul for the last 3.5. It feels like literally every decision I make against him is the wrong one.

I finally got him in a few pots last night, none of which were coolers. It felt really good to get the monkey off my back.

He is still way better than I am, so there is no delusion here, but god damn I needed that.

Garage sale weekend in the neighborhood. A couple early people took away some clutter. Enough to pay for beer tonight. Win and win.

A little surprised that many of the people don't even get out of the car. Not as if I have any treasures, but still. Maybe they're looking for something specific and can see that I don't have one.

Also, Garick: not to worry, getting old gets worse, faster, as you get older.

In more important news, SPC in Marshalltown. IIRC, it's quite level until close to the Mississippi, hopefully it's good riding.

Back in second place after a massive 184.76 mile ride yesterday-this morning. I can't even.

Consecutive 22 hour efforts.

SPC has been doing her best to outrun this storm. She managed to skirt it most of the day but the final push was very wet. The trails are now really muddy and sloppy with the storm sitting over the guys right behind her who have been holed up for close to 4 hrs waiting it out. There may be a window this afternoon but SPC is concerned about trail conditions and flooding. She has had to turn back and find new paths around flood waters and large downed treet several times which is time consuming and frustrating.

here's a trail she was on last night

"trail"

big problem is many times the surfaces are not known or mislabeled. Last night for the final push she thought it was going to be paved/gravel the entire way. This is neither paved nor gravel. I cant imagine coming up on this completely wiped out after a massive effort

I overlimped KK UTG+1

You don't hang out in LLSNL threads anymore, but every time I suggest I would openlimp/overlimp a big hand the general consensus is that it's real bad, m'kay?

Am I the only one who initially quickly read this as Marshmallowtown?

My last losing month at my lol rec 1/3 NL pokring was June 2023.

I'll be putting in my last pokr session for this June 2024 tomorrow. Currently stuck $201 on the month.

A gravel creekbed still counts as gravel, right?

I mean it's bad in theory but situationally good.

"Situationally" meaning pretty much every LLSNL table ever, amirite?

I did another random one off count of tracking raised versus limped pots over an hour at my 1/3 NL table the other day. I was like the second youngest of the 9 (lol) at a very tame table, so I didn't expect much, but I was still curious. 20 of the 32 hands were raised, so about 2/3rds (which past tracking projects have shown is about average at run-of-the-mill tables).

GhighfiveG

You literally just said why it's not good.

1/3 of the time you're playing a limped pot. You don't want limped pots.

I won’t speak theory but limping and over limping is a lot more in vogue these days.

I saw an absolutely bananas hand last night.

6 handed the two players were around 700bb deep playing 50/100 with 100 ante

Folds around to Sb who makes it 300
bb 3b 1k
Sb 4b 3.3k
Bb 5b 7.7k
Sb 6b jams
Bb folds

I’ll buy a beer if we ever meet in person if you guess both hands.

Was the seven-deuce game on?

Kinda crazy that I used to play those stakes but now I'm happy to play $5/5 and print $75 an hour with no stress because people are awful.

by SABR42 k

... because people are awful.

Both generally and situationally true.

No props or anything special were on ie 72, stand up, straddles, etc

I definitely respect that. In my room, 5/10 and 10/25 are way tougher than the games I play in. Those mid stakes games are just wizards trading nominal bb’s.

If I was playing for a living, I’m not sure I want to deal with the stress of playing the games I’m in even if they are softer.

I generally play because it’s fun, it’s a good group that has been playing together for well over a decade. I obviously want to win but if it’s not fun, I don’t want to be there.
