Right now, I would think the betting money is on DNegs finishing up for the total WSOP. Remember he's was down what $920k yesterday before banking the $1.178 million win ($1.178-$920 = +$258k). But of that $920k, $500k came from the 2 bullets at the $250k event. Take out that huge event and DNegs would be up +$700k. The sum total of the rest of the events is less than one buy-in for the $250k. AND you know winning a bracelet is certainly an indication that he's playing and running good so that would be a good sign for the rest of the Series.
this was a mixed game tournament mostly..if anything him avoiding NLHE super high rollers is probably going to be +EV
I explained that he has 2 cashes of $3M+ in the last 4 years for 1st places in $300K entry fee tournaments. He came close to cashing in the $250K NLHE this year. He doesn't have the edge in those that he has in the PPC. However, people say he plays defensively because he doesn't know GTO. His whole style has always been to play defensively, as he played here.
There is a 50k NLH too with 1x rebuy.

The guy has gotten ridiculed for years... But of course he brought it all on himself by vlogging everything.
He was down almost a million before the PPC, he was down over a million last year.
I cant even imagine how much relief is off his shoulders. All of his past failures were on full display for all to see and he's now made a complete 180 , winning one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and even vaulting himself into the POY race. I bet he comes out super focused for the remaining series and I wouldn't be surprised if he won another bracelet.

i got to thinking, we always hear about this player being the best at this or that. like, ivey is the best all around player. maybe helmuth is the best all around tournament player. maybe daniel is to poker what floyd mayweather was to boxing, the best defensive player of all time. surely he has some of the greatest folds in poker history. and he showed it in this tournament, also.

People are really jealous, posting all sorts of crap about him. He has that endorsement contract and is a vlog star because he made all those boom final table and his personality. He isn't quiet and poker faced like most players. He is a really good players, but he isn't some GOAT. The big money, aside from endorsements, is in beating high stakes cash games. There are a lot of players just as good, who aren't big stars, hence the resentment. Winning the PPC is a quite an accomplishment, as are his results in some NLHE super high rollers.
