2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
Yikes on both really, there was a J and an A on the 88 v TT hand, so both cases you have the 4th nuts, though there are obv more KQ combos, though possibly only exactly KQdd continues against the reported bet sizing.
Both jammed their hand also, so not even like you have added equity from opponent bluffing or being a complete fool and betting something stupid.

Not the 4th nuts

My understanding was that the money went all-in on a flop of T88? If so, that's just a giant cooler.
The 66 hand doesn't seem awful if the report is accurate. ~45k in the pot and only 37k behind on the river. Jamming doesn't seem like the best move but there's not a way to avoid losing a massive chunk of your stack. Bet/fold probably best?
Bottom set is definitely not strong in PLO. HU is different of course but in a normal ring game bottom set is about the same as bottom pair in NLHE. You are almost never making money with a full house when you hold bottom set.
Lol no.
It's overvalued a lot of the time but it's hard from bottom pair in NL.
I just deleted some posts regarding what players have written on their hats. This is surely not a big deal, but let's bend over backwards to keep politics out of this thread.
Thank you.
Part of the fallout from the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 was that it became unacceptable to discuss deeply divisive subjects like religion and politics in polite society. Does the mass death of the Thirty Years War mean nothing to you?

Understand that JJ and AA are unlikely, but not impossible. Also, have to think about what your opponent is stacking off with here when you jam, not just "am I winning?"
That said, my current last hand played in the main was jamming 54 on river on 554J3, so maybe I didn't follow my own advice ha.
People here acting like WSOP Main day 1 is like playing a satellite bubble LOL
You nits might mincash but never winning

I play PLO more than any other game by far.
Let's just agree to disagree here.
I’ve never played the main but as long as I last longer then the time I spent in line and all that… I think I could live with it lol
So wait. No $50k PLO coverage with huge names that people who are willing to pay to watch want to see? Instead we get Joe schmoe on day 1a of the main event… can the insanity stop?
God forbid we get to see people play with more than 20BB
There was reporting on the 25K PLO that Rast was well ahead until he ran into a big cooler from Eldridge. That appears to be a flopped set of jacks for Eldridge over a flopped set of 3's for Rast. Is that really considered a 'big cooler' in PLO? I know it was HU, but set over set is quite common in PLO and being able to get away from bottom and even middle sets in PLO is key to a winning strat. Not saying he can get away from it HU but does anyone know the exact flop? J 7 3 rainbow type of flop
It was actually J103 with a flush draw. Totally standard to get it in there with all the possible draws present
Main Event coverage starting now. They started it with the old school music and I appreciate that they did. I don’t think they did that with the other tournaments.
Am i the only one who mutes it for these two announcers? Donnie and Remko are so hard to listen to.
Lol donkaments
Utg open AKo
Utg+1 3bet AKo (Galfond)
CO cold call QQ
BU cold call 55
Utg 4bet big
Everyone folds xD
So much money in there, perfect spot for Galfond to just powerjam AKo with good fold equity also. UTG could easily have 4bet folds when 2 ppl cold calls the 3bet.
