Why Dnegs keeps using those shitty open tax small size 3bets? He has looked at a solver and could get coaching from top regs?

75bb eff.
LJ opens 7k (2.3bb)
CO flats 7k (2.3bb)
SB 3bets 21k (7bb)

In theory he should be going for around 11bb here. That is just WAY off, too much.

Hes playing OOP with deep stacks and has ZERO fold equity there. If you put that sht into a solver LJ has folds because player is behind and might have some back raises in theory? But after LJ folds solver would probably call range after flatting against that sizing when there is so much money in the pot and you get to play deep in position.

That just can not be good even tho hes thinking he is making some deviation to exploit his opps but no way that line has more EV even if you would nodelock basic fish tendencies in there.

I understand that the deepstacked open tax min 3bet exploit MIGHT be okay'ish in a setup like MP fish opens and you are in CO with marginal hand with good players in BU and BB. In spot like this you could open tax to get into headsup with fish and it makes some sense at least. But those shtty no FE 3bets from blinds he just cant get over, feels like he just wants to do things different from the GTO just for the sake it even tho his lines suck.

He probably doesn't know anything about the game. Isn't he still under $54m lifetime earnings? Makes sense with plays like this. If he looked at a solver once in a while maybe he could break the top 5 all time money list. What a fish.

That had to be a misclick.

Yeah good point he has binked few live tournaments. There is multiple 8figure Hendon Mob business men who play like donks.

Definitely the same thing. You make very good points, keep up the valuable contributions.

nobody disagrees with his historic results

but surely you must know that he's lifetime down several million online and is down this decade if you look at all his play

one of the most admirable things about him is he doesn't hide losses, you can see his annual "i cashed for 2.4 million but actually lost 1.7 million this year" annual recaps

so it's not at all controversial to point to the fact that he's net down last decade or so because he's very transparent and owns those losses

the game has passed him by and he's no longer a winning player

Buddy has made tens of millions in sponsorships by playing and acting a certain way. Part of the game imo. You can be Lena900 and stay under the radar and make money from the game, or you can be Negreanu and play a loud, sometimes suboptimal style and profit off of marketing ventures. Him and Hellmuth have this game figured out.

sure, but this wasn't what you were previously arguing

I agree with the small sizing being a mistake in this meta, I never said it wasn't. My argument is/was that asking if he "is getting coaching from top regs" is such a ridiculous point to make given how much he has profited in poker ventures.

If I was Shroud streaming to 40k viewers every stream and making millions/month, why would I find a top CS pro making $200k/year to train me? Who cares at that point?

by DC11GTR k

Ran out to grab some food. Is this sarcastic? Did I miss something good?

A funny exchange with the chinese guy at the table, Mr Lu, where Daniel asked if he knew a different Chinese person (he didnt) then made fun of a third Chinese person’s name

Negreanu doing his best to min cash the Main Event.

Lol what? He clearly wants to win bracelets and tournaments, why would he not want to play well? He is not streaming some pointless online MTTs. If he wants to do well in tournaments his best chance of winning them would be to learn modern theory and meta, and he could afford top level coaching to get better. Instead he is just trying to figure the game in his own head like hes stuck in 2005. At least he is smart enough to not play the Triton Series, but with little bit of reinventing his game and getting coached he could play them as a small loser with sponsorship money and achieve the top spots in live cashes.

I mean you're quoting Hendon mob and his gross cashes which is pretty hilarious.

Yeah. He seems to really be nursing the short stack for hours. Why? Obviously the money doesn't mean much. Is he really that desperate to be able to say he cashed the main?

Attempt at POY. Min cash would mean 88 points which would increase his score by 37. I know it's not much but I would bet my house he is interested in being in the top 10.

Every day is starting really great for Daniel and he ends up significantly below average. I wonder if it'll continue like that.

He just busted with a min-cash. I have to imagine he’s pin his POY hopes on the $10K 8-Game starting today.

Funny how worried he was that someone would think he was making an ICM fold. Dude it’s ok, 15k is still money even if you’re rich.

the $10K 8-Game starting today.

And .... he's out.
Event #92: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em is starting tomorrow (Friday),
this will go a long way to determining if Daniel finishes down (-$) for this year's series.

There was a funny exchange on PokerRoad Radio when either Bart or Ali (can't remember which) asked Gavin Smith what might make him fold kings pre. Gavin replied with something like, "Dewey Tomko raises under the gun. Then Allen Kessler three-bets. Then Tony Cousineau cold four-bets..."

Obviously, that's a comically extreme situation, but holding AJ in the BB facing a couple of raises on the ME bubble isn't all that far from it. He even explained his fold in two words: "range assessment." Given the circumstances, I'm surprised he took so long to fold. But he was so card-dead leading up to it that such a hand must look very pretty to see.

Exactly. Also, being able to say you cashed the main is pretty sick. Idk why he was making a big deal about it. I'd honestly expect him to fold everything but aces on the bubble.

Maybe. But you know a guy on the short stack raising early especially has an absolute monster.

My only issue with Daniel's bubble play was the K9 if he's going to use range assessment he's ahead of 90 percent of the guy on his right's holdings because that guy is raising near 100 percent of his holdings

I can go either way on Negreanu but I thought he was exceptionally annoying around the bubble in yesterday's episode. Just constant "Look at me! Look at me" antics.

The worst was him screaming out that he had folded AJ right when some guy's world was getting destroyed by running KK into AA on the bubble of the Main Event.
