apd - while it's possible he was clicking buttons, you can see how he structured it that those 4 wagers are all derivatives of each other - was probably done to get around limits/avoid attention from a trader

bws - yes it was titty time last night

gman - i don't think you'd do it, but i'd love for you to hop on over to the fringe conspiracy thread and give your input on all the military uniform stuff (there's a lot)

Good luck Dave-O, seems like a wise move if poker is interfering with your life too much.

i'll miss the fanny pack pics but not the strat thread trolling

If I ever reach 20 winning sessions in a row, everyone is wearing Dave-O's fanny pack pic as their avatar for a month.

Hmmmmm…… I think it was closer to clicking buttons rather than getting around/avoiding anything. That said it wasn’t rando degen button clicking. He put time into his betting methods. I wish he was here so that I could ask… amongst other things.

i can't get down enough to even bother with kelly, even for march madness, the betmgm brick and mortar sportsbook wouldn't allow me to wager more than 1500 on anything, which was super annoying because they put out some very silly lines like Uconn outlasting Purdue -130 - was prepared to put 10k on that

this "big position" tonight is like -7k pain vs +4k joy

i usually can't get down more than $500 on any positions so typically just jam that max bet on everything

these are all "max wagers" which is

Where is this, if you don’t mind me asking?

It's crazy that mgm would limit you that hard at the counter.

You are correct. I have a grand total of zero posts ever in the politics forum, and I'm definitely not starting out in the tinfoil hat thread. You are welcome to quote me if you wish, but here's my prediction of how the poster will respond.

60% No response at all and just moves on to the next ridic attempt to "prove" something stupid.
35% Moves goalposts
5% Actually admits error and withdraws theory. (I may have this one too high.)

1) Didace is correct. Hats are not worn indoors unless under arms.
2) Except in a few very rare circumstances, salutes (or, "solutes," apparently) are not exchanged indoors/uncovered.
3) There is no one "military regulation" on uniform set-up, each service has their own. So the putative regulation callout is ridic. I can't tell from that fuzzy pic what service the individual is in, or even if they are U.S. or not.
4) Even if he is a U.S. service member, the wear of certain foreign awards that come with aiguillettes is authorized. For example, the German Shutzenschnur, which also has a badge on top in that spot the poster said badges can't go. Though I don't think it's a Schutzenschnur rope, unless there is also another (e.g. Presidential Aide) aiguillette also being worn. That's just an example.

The whole thing reminds me of the claim that a White House pic was fake because there were leaves on the trees when there shouldn't be. The trees were magnolias. Which are evergreens. Never saw anyone tweet out "oops, sorry, turns out I was wrong" when that was pointed out to them, and I don't expect it this time.

Did you just, “but how much did you lose,” me?

This wasn’t my bet(s). It was a friend’s from a few years back right before he passed away. My guy was going hard in the paint on DK. All Phil Ivey like, “I just want to feel that pain where it’s hard to breathe.” I think the biggest bet I saw him make was $7,500. Unsure if he ever did 5 figures in one bet. I couldn’t handle those swings. Puke.

I sure tried and certainly didn’t see that coming. Sorry about your buddy.

Non-zero percent chance he had that figured out. He was a very bright dude.

Where is this, if you don’t mind me asking?

it's a pph, dealing with a local bookie - that's all online

where i am the only legal i know of that opened up is dk (maine not big enough a market for them to rush in and then bother with all the local regulations is the assumption) and i'm super careful about how i go about using that (only started like 2-3 months ago)

It's crazy that mgm would limit you that hard at the counter.

yeah i was really surprised they wouldn't take more than that, they even warned me that if they caught me making that wager at kiosks anonymously they'd ban me - genuinely thought of calling my cousins who live nearby and asking them to make the wager but i think that'd make them feel uncomfortable like they were part of mob activity

even more surprising because mgm let me bet like 4k on the slam dunk contest which is nowhere near as efficient a market as march madness

now... i'm sure if it were nfl or nba they'd take at least 10-20k before they start pausing

aweseome, will post in the thread and we'll see how accurate your betting lines above are

Non-zero percent chance he had that figured out. He was a very bright dude.

I talked it over with my other friend and he jogged my memory on what his betting philosophy was:

“ (he) wanted to structure a level of Yahtzee’s that could win independent of each other but had a way to Yahtzee all…. To structure it so you can bink parts for a break even or slight win.”

He also agreed with me that he wasn’t trying to avoid anything/anyone. He would have 100% talked to us about that.

So I'm still following the bike race, even after SPC's finish, and something weird just happened. There was a guy who had switched to sport mode who was like 300 miles from the end, or something, and when I hit "refresh rider locations" he just completely went away. He's not marked scratch, he's not on the tracker anymore at all. As in they are now listing that there were 19 entries instead of 20.

I can't imagine anyone quitting that close to the end, unless something drastic happened. Squid or SPC any insight? I can't recall his name, but he was a bit ahead of EF.

@G - its rider DM. Earlier he got a ride from montana or wyoming to omaha. He lives in virginia and decided he was pooped so he biked home and elected not to finish. He may or may not ride the final portion in the fall.

SPC got home yesterday. She looks and feels great and has signed up for https://www.bigskyspectaculaire.com/ in august.

Rickroll...u in!?

OK, that's hilarious. I guess they'll add him as a scratch later?

various relatives all coming up to maine this month - a few i haven't seen in a while, including a newborn niese

so i can't leave until beginning of aug so that'll give me about a 1.5 weeks to get out to montana

my heart says -500 odds of making it, but if i hired someone to set the line he'd probably set it at -200

fwiw when people ask me what my plans are i tell them driving out west to cash my superbowl tickets and then ride around montana

caught this guy this morning, he had a tag on him from jersey

Honestly, its hard to guess what they will do with that information. Seems to me that it would have been pretty ez just to scratch him when he went home instead of erasing him entirely which it seems like that is what they did.

Currently at the emergency vet with Donatello. He is not doing well. Can I please, please get a one time?

Good luck, both of you. Toughest thing ever.

sorry to hear that, hope it works out

You got my one time. Prayers for both of you.
