she was barely introduced to poker a year ago.

Must be nice. Poker is so unfair lol.

I assume we are all on the Foxen bandwagon, yes?

no, not all

lol yeah thats what I was thinking when they were talking about how her wife introduced her just a year ago after she had loved and played poker for years. Gotta be a tad bit of jealousy there of how quickly she got a big result.

by MTTg k

She sunrunned.
AcQs open playing deep
BTN flat
BB call
Flop 3s3c9c
BB check
Xiao checks
BTN bets small
BB folds
She just gives up her very strong hand because she did not hit a pair or flush draw lol

Yeah this hand and the 2236 fold were the ones I was thinking of.

Nothing personal of course which goes without saying but I'm saying it anyway.

Really? If Foxen wins it will be the biggest and greatest thing that has ever happened in poker. We should all be rooting for her.

not sure how that would be the greatest thing that has ever happened in poker...youre making it seem like Jesus Christ himself is playing lol

As far as "boom" factor. A player from Japan, Brazil, China or India winning could cause some of the biggest ones. Poker markets that are already growing but could explode even more.

by wheatrich k

foxen had about 2.5M total at one point needed a three outer on the river and might end the night as the chip leader

count me in!

Every time I hear people talk about a 'poker boom' I think of this video

PA elected to the HoF. Fits the criteria better than any of the other nominees IMO, but they really need to start letting in 2-3 people per year.

Not better than Isai Scheinberg. Absolutely criminal he's not in. Nobody did more for poker than him.

PA does fit the player criteria well though.

Scheinberg's not going to get in until more of the old guard die off.

The ****ed-upedness of the HOF selection process is worthy of a separate thread.

The main themes from this year's coverage are Targeting, Activating and the person who made the bet starring down the potential caller hard.

No, if Foxen wins it just gives a much bigger voice to her lunatic conspriacy theories and extreme fringe politics.
I would be rooting hard for virtually any woman in poker to win it besides her.

Even if she were a QAnon flat-earther, a woman winning the Main Event would work wonders for drawing a lot more women into the world of poker.

Very short sighted. When she’s on the Tonight Show or Colbert and every podcast imaginable they won’t be talking about the vaccine.

She’s a very personable and intelligent person and she’ll be a media dream that will elevate and legitimize poker for millions of people almost overnight.

Nah this is just so far of a reach. A winner's political views are irrelevant in considering their impact on the game.

FFS, being against the jab is hardly a radical position anymore, especially as more data comes out. Let it go already.

If you think a woman winning the Main Event is going to triple the number of entries at next year's Main Event, as happened when Moneymaker won in 2003, you're overstating it.

Pretty sure the mods warned people not to bring in politics or they get temp banned.

Nah, they're not pausing the interview. They covered it fine. The stacks were in pre, and we got to see the hand run out. From that point, it's not really all that different to hear Rast talking over the visuals versus talent telling us what the cards are.

It would have been far worse if the camera stayed on the Rast interview, then cut to that hand after it was over.

yep. the producers got that sequence exactly right

But look at this Vince, he's reaching for raising chips

I watched back the entire nightshift on a laptop just now and didn't have any issues.

One single person makes this thread a painful read honestly. I wish there was a tad more moderation sometimes.

made this move yday myself

She played some standard spots well. But she's only been in poker for 2 years and these deep spots in a tournament like the main have probably not been a part of her study regimen yet. She needed to sun run just as much as any other pro would need to in order to get there.

Idk I'd take being a successful software engineer at Google that's good enough to place top 100 in the main over being slightly better at preflop ranges in NLH.

She also had great interviews imo.

yep

A+ bustout interview

We almost went 24 hours without politics being brought up. So close.

true. but in this case he was responding to why he didn't agree w another person's post. almost like a setup

if ppl don't understand why many poker players aren't in Krissy B's corner by now, then ultimately that is on them. ppl that don't fancy Krissy B shouldn't have to spell it out to them every time (whether it be politics or the alleged collusion during final 3 play of a decent sized tournament). Krissy B's CV should be known to most serious poker players/followers by now

Agreed, I think the impact of a woman winning from a 'boom' perspective is being wildly overestimated.

That being said, I'm rooting for her. Mostly since I just default to rooting for the pros I've heard of. I am completely out of the online scene so I've never heard of Lena900 until this thread brought it up.

Let's leave the Foxen-politics stuff out of this thread. There are a million places (including 2+2's Politics and Society forum) to argue to your heart's content either for or against her positions on various issues. But this thread is not one of them.
