2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
Do we think that Doug Polk really doesn't believe in ICM? I guess he doesn't play many tourneys so it doesn't matter.
But imagine you're down to the last 3 in the WSOP ME. Blinds are $3M/$6M.
Button has a single $1M chip. 1/6th of a BB.
SB has 95% of the chips in play.
You have the remaining 5% in the BB.
Button folds, SB shoves, you look down at KK.
Remaining payouts are $10M/$6M/$4M.
You really gonna call there because you "play to win" and don't believe in ICM? I'm guessing even AA there is a strong fold.
POTY race might not be over yet. I think Rocco could pass Seiver if he wins the 10k 6 max where he's currently 2/3, but Seiver is still alive in the 25k horse with 14 left so he's going to get points for that. Ivey is still in that too and could get close with a win. It could come down to the closer or the super turbo with 3 or 4 people alive.
I mean that final table was super weak except for Jamie and then Shiina ran like Darvin Moon headsup. She's obviously a decent player but Foxen has 7 million dollars of cashs in much tougher fields, I'd pick her as the better player any day of the week.
What? For what? I havent seen him in anything sponsor related. If hes been paid 7m you would suppose someone like me who follows poker in literally every big media all year round would have noticed. Seems a huge waste of 7m for whoever paid that if true.
At most I can remember a patch in some Triton event... 7m for that? Lol
Idk - it surprised me too. But again, Pads would know.
What country do you live in? Guessing it was Europe focused and maybe online stuff?
Sorry, very late here, what doesICM stand for?
Good analysis of QQ fold from Dara O’Kearney
Not disagreeing with you but this is exactly why this FT is so disappointing given the other possibilities (Foxen or even Xiang or Rast). No one — ok very very few people — gets excited for an ICM masterclass by a mostly unheard of online player (no dont tell me he’s well known—he is not). Krissy would have made it the most anticipated FT in recent memory.
I don’t play MTTs much but saying Lena900 is “unknown” is ****ing wild
sure he’s not an influencer, but he is very far from unknown rofl
you worded it very harshly, but I think that it is resonable to assume that in this specific situation, utg will:
- bluff quite a lot, possibly more than equilibrium - this is due to being a bigger stack with overwhelming range advantate. Even very tight players can typically find plenty of bluffs in massive range assymetry spots
- valuebet a bit less than he should
- call jam much less than he should
all 3 of those assumptions could shift the kqo jam into being a good play. I still think it was a b
technically if he plays as you just described then calling would fare better than jamming
No need to debate about the Foxen hand. It was a punt but suprise to me, the QQ fold was bigger punt and lost more in equity. Well Foxen had implied odds of being first woman to make the final so it was actually giga punt.
Its been analyzed on Twitter with ICM calculations and nodelocking.
Of all the people Justin Bonomo had to come and tell the truth LOL because he hates her views. So Justin solved it and even with most crazy unrealistic nodelocks to make Serock play like a maniac, it is still losing. With realistic assumptions it just loses a lot, but only high 5figs equity supposedly. Seems like a lot more but her implied odds worth 6figs for sure on top of that.
And Bencb tried to lie that its good play with nodelocks!! What a whiteknight that guy is lol.
Independent Chip Model
It’s basically a way to assign a monetary value to your tournament chip stack as the tournament progresses, payouts and pay jumps kick in, and stacks fluctuate.
Essentially, your chips have more monetary value as the tournament progresses and this should be taken into consideration to achieve maximum financial value from a deep tournament run.
Is that the same Brian Kim from hustler casino live? dude runs good in life.
edit: The sponsorship EV she torched for being first woman to final table in modern era.
Unbelievable. Calling a set of aces trips.
Brian Kim - "Those were very intense. I thought we were going to have a kiss."
Lol, when questioned about the stare downs with Moroz.
Kim has a horrible seat draw with the three biggest stacks to his left including Lena and Floes.

Oh man I forgot the Foxens were absolute psychos. Actually I take it back I’m glad she didn’t make the final table lol get wrecked!
