Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn't eat it....
o well atleast the girl grinded him on the rails of a club, almost got kicked out for grinding? Kappa
Welp, the second bullet missed its mark.
The website pokernewsdotcom has Daniel re-entering the $25K H.O.R.S.E event and getting thrown off his horse within the first hour of today's play.
Daniel then, like a drunken cowboy
who was recently thrown from his horse, wandered over to the $3K PLO event, which we all know is Daniel's best game.
You can't make this stuff up.
Gloating online every time some poker player you don’t even know doesn’t cash a tournament is really pretty disturbing.
DN *thinks* he is on the same playing field as PH.
He is SO jealous of PH. I’m not a PH fanboy, don’t even like him, but DN has ALWAYS been jealous that he is not the of Poker. Simple as that.
Bageled

DN spends $1M+ in buyins in the series, playing all the high rollers in NLHE, PLO, and mixed games. Despite what people here say, he makes money long term that way. Hellmuth plays a lot of lowish stakes NLHE tournaments and mixed game and limit games / PLO8/ 2-7SD tournaments. That is the right approach for him. He has a lot of bracelets, but is even less a top player than DN.
So how many people who binked events didn't get super lucky?
Do you all realize that 85% of the players don't cash in every tournament?
Yes I do. It takes a ton of luck to win an event.
Judging anyone on one tournament regardless of the result is silly. Of course 85 percent of the field doesn't cash. That doesn't mean winning an 89 percent event proves he's an elite player.
his track record at the wsop the last 5-10 years isn't good.
But as long as he can convince casuals he's still an elite player he prints endorsement money.
These dipshits actually believe him when he says he's running terrible bc he doesn't win every single all in. I mean how can he possibly lose 2 or 3 flips in a row or not win 15 hands in a row where it's a 70/30.
The YouTube comments are pretty incredible. They eat this bullshit up.
That's not a knock on him, it's actually quite brilliant of him to be able to print money from poker without winning much at poker if he's winning at all.
That is a very tough 89 player field with a 5-day tournament and having to play 9 games well plus tournament strategy. He has wins in high roller in NLHE and PLO also. He has a number of 2nd and 3rd places in the WSOP, including 3rd place in a $50K PLO and 2nd place for $8 million in a $1 million tournament in 2014. He has to be a strong player. He has the money and sponsorship to play that kind of schedule. However, there only a few who could break even in the tournament schedule he plays.
He isn't what GG makes him out to be though. They are marketing him to fish. He is a strong player, but certainly not at the level of Ivey, Jungleman, etc. I see why people get annoyed. I get all this crap on my phone from GG about his brilliant reads etc.

You will probably be delighted to know he has busted the 3k PLO late in the day
But Daniel..Daniel..PLO is your best game. You're so strong in it. Bad beat over and over. Daniel..Daniel..
this is why I don't like tournaments. Instead of beating just one person or your table to make some money you have to beat 20,000 people to cash. In a cash game I can hit and run if I'm up $5k or $10k, not in a tournament. Daniel is up against odds that are hard to beat and in poker he can do everything right and still lose. His opponents can do everything wrong and still win. I remember the hand when Moneymaker's pocket 8's hit a two outer and beat AA. You have to win your flips over and over again to win tournaments and beat the odds.
A lot of good professional players would get ripped apart playing high rollers in mixed games, NLHE, and PLO. That he has wins and top place finishes in these against fields of almost all top players, shows he is a top tournament player, if not what GG makes him out to be.

The only thing Daniel does better than re-buying in a PLO tournament, is busting out of a PLO tournament.
did I miss something in todays vlog or did the other guy check back with nut-flush?
-$163,787
what was going on with the waitress arounf 33:30sec mark 😃
It is baffling that a so called pro can be down over 100k in the series even after luckboxing an 89man SnG for 1.1mill
Not sure, but in today's vlog, Daniel bluffed a guy into folding the nut flush, on a non-paired board, because Daniel might have a straight flush using an inside card and one of two end cards. Probably one of the worst hand lay downs I've ever seen.
Did someone really fold a nut flush to daniel in omaha on a no pair board? Are straight flushes really that common in omaha ?

If this guy actually folded AQ hearts it's one of the worst folds in the history of poker.

What do you do the rest of the year ?
