Good start for Gonzalez

yep. Interesting spot there with JJ just after doubling up. That's the kind of icm spot I'm totally lost on. only 20 bb but he's 7th in chips with a lot more chips than 8th and 9th. but 4 left to act behind him.

I like that he just went for it and it's really the only poker play given the hand, but if someone told me it was 'wrong', I wouldn't be totally surprised

I know it's not exactly a hot take around here, but it would be so nice if these two were the ones commentating.

I assume it's for ESPN broadcast reasons and the thought that Ali and Nick don't/won't translate to a mainstream audience, but I totally agree.

it would be pretty interesting if they could run two parallel streams on pokergo and track the audience differences. I can't imagine many poker players choosing Chad. At least we don't have to hear him patronise and put down Jamie K anymore

it makes sense why they aren't on during primetime, they appeal to poker players more than the mainstream audience

just like when we watch football we get guys like madden going "wow he threw that far, getting long completions is a good way to win football games" instead of some advanced analytics guy saying "by opting to throw 25 yards there on 3rd and long, they increased their chance of winning from 42% to 46% vs 40% win equity if they fail to complete it so it was a better choice than if they gave up by running the ball to gain a little more field position before punting"

What's the "primetime audience" for a poker subscription pay platform? This isn't ESPN anymore

it still gets shown on espn though, just not live. (at least it does in Australia)

they do package the highlights and sell them to major networks to be aired later though - the demand for mainsteam appealing announcers could be from the networks buying the highlight packages

I'd guess the average pokergo viewer still would never want to listen to analytic type or solver stuff.

This event is 350 worse for having Lon call it.

there's always a few final tablists who don't play the main again, just take the money and run probably smartest strategy overall

Welcome to the World Series of ABC Poker.

well we all know Lon can't do live--he can do okay with edited packages though.

Welcome to the World Series of ABC Poker.

Been a little higher than that but there haven't been many hands to do it with (the JTs 3b being the closest I guess). They didn't get here spazzing with rags.

Rut roh

See if Kim gets away with just a call here.

I guess reraising gets called by nothing we beat.

well the good news for kim there is griff bet so much it's not a raise

Brutal runout for Kim.

What calls a shove? Trips folds. 2p folds. K-high flush maybe?

Ouch gg Latinois

Back to back sets at the ME final table. I couldn’t do that in a 10 bucker online

Easy when you see the cards, but yeah, I can't imagine Griff calls there even with overpairs. Maybe K-high flush but he raised from UTG and the Jc is on the board so KQcc really the only other flush Griff could have. Not even sure he raises KTcc/QTcc

Damn I thought Latinois had 33. Now I feel bad for him.
