Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn't eat it....
o well atleast the girl grinded him on the rails of a club, almost got kicked out for grinding? Kappa
All Daniel has to do today is win Event #99: $1,000 Super Turbo No-Limit Hold'em, the last live event of the wsop, and he'll be up a few thousand dollars for the series.

is that all? he has a better chance if he just played some high stakes blackjack
or maybe baccarat if he just wants to breakeven
How has iwasbanned not become Iambanned
interesting convo that happened between him and vitch. he was asked if he had to pick between these two following scenarios (before the series started) would he rather be up, ROI-wise at the end of the WSOP or down but he knows he'll win the $50k PPC and earn a bracelet.
He was like "Hell no who wants to be down money" or something along those lines...im paraphrasing.
I didnt quite believe him though. kinda felt like he was saying that just cuz he was being recorded.
Anyone else get that feeling as well?
Anyway, if he was being honest, everything that has been said in this thread regarding his shot taking/gambling in rebuy tournies and all his bad all ins that people defended because "HeS TrYiNg To wIN nOt cAsH DuH!" would need a 2nd evaluation (not that anyone would do that in such a massive thread but im just saying)...it pretty much nullifies all his justifications on some of his most horrendous plays

Yeah no you misunderstood that whole situation. Also all of the talk about the series and it even led to David Williams should be infamous tweet
david williams?
wtf i guess i did misunderstand cuz i dont know what youre talking about lol
david williams?

Because guys like Daniel Vitch and Chino were all joking around and asking everyone how their summer had gone along with several others doing the same David tweeted this
Won a bracelet or multiple deep runs/ft's, or near the top of the winnings leaderboard etc etc that is what those names have in common
If you are LOSING money you certainly arent crushing.. Just entering a ton of events will make any decent player fulfill both of your criteria. He hasnt won a bracelet in ages before this year... its inevitable that it happens in sub 100 man loldonkaments when you play plenty of them a year.
my god on yesterdays vlog
mike matusow
get that animal out of there 25mins in to it jesus what an animal , and he thinks hes a hall of famer ? Lolz
today's closing vlog was great.
I mean, at the end of the day, only Daniel seems to be making content that actually seems like it has some decent production.
Wish some other poker players making buttloads of money tried to market themselves through a vlog like this.

Where do you get the idea he is losing money? The PPC is not a loldonkament. He has 2 recent first places in $300K high rollers no the the World Series. You have to be decent player to have wins and top finishes in high rollers, because the competition is so strong. There are a lot of decent players who could not win against that kind of competition if they had the money for entries.

He's publicly shared his results and he's down over the last 5 or 6 years overall.
It's a marketing expense for him.
Anyone with a brain would take losing 100-200k a year on average for millions in endorsements.
Of course the PPC is a loldonkament.
someone earlier said he's down overall going as far back as 2014
I had forgot about the Choice Center bs he fell into. I think Daniel was too busy blabbering to notice the annoyed dude calling it a scam. Has D ever admitted it was a scam?

He's definitely not, unless you mean just at the WSOP. 2013-2023, not counting 2020, so we're talking 10 years, he won 7/10 years, and 1 of the losing years was only 86k, with around 11 million in total profits.
At the WSOP only, Daniel is down since 2015.
I think Daniel proved that this year.
When you play a sheit ton of WSOP events, you are gonna lose money unless you score beaucoup dollars in a wsop high roller event.
Daniel even won a high roller event (the $50k PPC event for $1,178,703) and he still managed to lose money.
Here's the point I'm making, and someone else made this point earlier,
winning money at the WSOP is an illusion for 98% of a active participants in the long run.
Has Daniel made money away from the WSOP since 2015, yes he has. Over the years, Daniel has been very fortunate in some super high roller events, away from the WSOP.
TLDR: Daniel is down money for the last 10 years (2015-2024) at the WSOP.
Away from the wsop is a different story.

Has Daniel made money
Since 2015 is an interesting year to pick, and what happens if you count 2014? Or does your long run happen to end at 9 wsops instead of 10

2015-2024 is a ten year span.
But to answer your point, Daniel did have a huge 2nd place score ($8,288,001) in a millionaire's event at the 2014 WSOP, eleven years ago.
scotty, when you count from 1 to 10, do you always go to 11 to make sure you counted 10 by lining up the 1s?
same principle as why 2015-2024 is 10 years and not 9

It isn't really a 10 year span because there was no 2020 wsop, but sure. His results swing one way if you count his huge score in a 1 million dollar event, but they swing the other way if you ignore that one, but you count his not cashing that event a few years later because it fits inside your selected sample.
Most active participants playing a long run at the wsop aren't playing both $400 and $1 million buy ins, of course if over 1 series you play 75 or so events or over 10 series you play 750 or so events and a huge percentage of that total buy ins is made up of a handful of events your variance is going to swing wildly.
Lol I’d be pissed if I won 8M and it didn’t count because it was 11 years ago and not ten
I'll save some people the work:

This feels impossible. He's so bad and he plays so many events, how is he averaging a million dollars profit a year?
