2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Harris should find a way to get Obama for VP. Either one. Obviously Barack is too busy parasailing with Ted Danson and eating $5k sushi with the executives at Netflix to want to bother with real work, but Michelle should at least be asked/bribed.
First time I've heard anybody say this. If it was the case, then Biden wouldn't have been getting trounced so hard in the polls that he was forced to drop out. Out of the Democratic presidents in my lifetime (Clinton, Obama, Biden), Biden is certainly in last place.
I have been hearing them emphatically saying it for months. its one of those things where if you just keep lying it eventually becomes the truth. kinda like how they told us for years that Biden didnt have dementia.
I don't think Biden was a great president, but he did a decent job correcting the economy. The inflation reduction act of 2022 helped us avoid the recession everyone predicted.
Regarding all the genocide talk ... the president has no choice but to supply Israel weapons. It's a strategic necessity. Trump will clearly do more "genocide". Additionally, Joe Biden has been calling for an immediate ceasefire since at least March of this year.
If Harris wins history probably remembers biden as one of the greatest presidents ever
The negatives against biden: the Middle East
The positives for biden: economy isn’t in freefall, stopped trump from a 2nd term and made the decision to **** off to stop him from a 2nd term again and help the first woman to ever be elected president
Ain’t bad
Who knows
He gets at least a B just for being the first old guy ever to admit they don’t have it anymore. Sure, he got forced into it, but it could have dragged out way worse than it has.
Feel like the Rs can’t go with the “disenfranchisement” / Biden should be forced to resign stuff for too much longer.
Sooner or later it’s going to start coming off as weak, what are you afraid of.
Who said Biden was some sort of historically great president?
Also, you apparently measure presidents solely by how many wars occurred globally during that president's term that implicate U.S. interests. That seems like a dubious yardstick.
I measure them as any sane person should; how many innocent civilians did you kill?
The lower the number, the better the president

I know this wasn’t the plan but I would argue the Dems are massively better off in November with how this played out than they woulda been if biden announced he wasn’t running a year ago
Before the debate there was massive apathy and in-party hate for biden where even if he was at the cognitive level he was at 4 years ago he probably loses. Dems bench was so shallow that if he announces before the primaries he isn’t running whoever is the dem candidate probably loses
Then the debate happens and he’s such a catastrophe that everyone snapped out of it and actually realized ‘holy **** trump’s gonna win plz god let anyone else run’ and now that Harris is in despite her being the biden administration but 59 years old there’s such a massive sigh of relief that Dems are actually motivated to push forward with a who gives a **** candidate
Kinda wild really
That’s fair, I don’t know how many civilians in Russia Biden helped kill, but he’s helped kill a ton in Gaza.
i think once they start talking to independent voters in focus groups in the next week or so, you'll see a couple of words being attached to each candidate:
Trump: past, chaos
Harris: future, bold

Cautiously agree.
On the one hand, the Ds look like incompetent head in the sand bozos.
On the other, their base got a serious dose of holy **** we’re gonna lose injected into their veins.
Never doubt DARK Brando

I don't agree. Biden's age has been a very winning issue for the Republicans, and if Biden had charted a clear course a few years ago when he seemed to be doing better, I think Trump's age would be a very winning issue for the Democrats.

Don't get me wrong, I wish I had your optimism, but you are being very generous about a candidate that is being forced on people with zero primary votes. People will vote for her because she is not Trump, but it is a little much to portray her as some kind of inspiring figure when she has been locked in a room for the last four years.
