ex-President Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
I started to make a detailed OP on it but decided against it because of time...but for those who are voting for trump, what is youe opinion on project 2025 as it stands and for what you know about it? ... Do you agree with it? Is it overblown?
Mods: i may still make one in the next xouple days because there is some diacussion on it that i would like to have.
They say it doesn’t exist or it’s nothing special .
But since like half of them can’t comprehend a simple text ….
Elon being totally cool...
FREEDOM .
Elon is for it , only the ones he likes tho.
A true maga .
Why?
I find the opposite is the case for me. Loved what he was doing with Tesla, but the more I learn about him and the more he says, the more unlikable he becomes.
I'm not oblivious to the other side of the coin. It may be easy to find him loathsome and annoying.
He seems to be devoted to good causes, and risking his Paypal fortune to develop sustainable energy and space travel was as crazy as it is cool. I find his story to be inspiring - his upbringing was very rough and he has persevered through difficult times. He strikes me as honest, even when he is wrong, and more human than most ultra rich people who generally have faultless exteriors. Being quirky and autistic makes him personally relatable as well.

Elon is an elite-level grifter.
There was a point in time at which Elon was a fairly standard tech billionaire (if such a thing exists). He has some genuine ability/knowledge in his fields but I get the impression that at some point he started believing fully in his own hype and that resulted in him way overestimating himself to the point he basically believed he could do no wrong. That spiraled into where he's ended up today, an obnoxious blowhard who is an absurdly hypocritcial "free speech advocate" on twitter and hasn't done anything impressive in business for years.
I don't disagree that he is now basically grifting off his name but he at least has done some innovative things in the past. He's not even close to being on the same level as Trump when it comes to having an entire career built on a combination of other people's success and being a conman.
The problem is he has far too much money (to put it very mildly). And belief and willigness to use his power
He is very dangerous.

Tuma. No. To all of this.
True, particularly when they blow up spectacularly, but it's not exactly new. Spacex was founded 22 years and and has been launching rockets for more than 15 years (and the fun rocket launching stuff is mostly still a money sink, it's only really the spacelink part of the company that is generating revenue). I'll give you that it is something Elon is involved with that is actually growing at the moment though, which does set it apart from Tesla and Twitter, both of which he's been doing an impressive job of tanking.
