Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
As an American, very much your problem if American tech gets sold to Russia and China.
You are the only one obfuscating, by trying to claim that the drunk woman at the pool was so versed in the Gaza conflict that she was targeting them specifically for being Palestinian and not Muslim.
JFC, no. She's dumb and she attacked the Muslim woman precisely because she's poorly versed in the Gaza conflict and she thinks everyone in a hijab is in cahoots with Hamas. This **** happens every time there's an Islamic terror attack, it's not complicated.
Like, when there was a rise in violence against Sikhs in the US after 9/11, were you confused about why that was happening?
US tech being sold to China or Russia is illegal and likely a violation of our agreements

Anti-Muslim sentiment has been on the rise for some time. There is nothing to suggest that if the woman had claimed she was from Pakistan that the racist woman would have left her alone.
As you mention, anti-Muslim sentiment has been on the rise since 9-11.
Even if it turns out to be anti-Palestinian, at this time it's pure speculation, anecdotal, rage bait.
and yes ofc its rage bait. people should be mad. if they arent mad well, Ill just quote Mourinho.
Many Israeli's are actually starting to come around to this position too. The US has been bribing Israel for almost 60 years to not destroy its neighbors who have been attacking them. And given this has allowed them to be completely surrounded by Iran and its proxies, with constant threats and attacks against them; many Israelis are starting to think they should put matters back into their own hands; and finish off their enemies once and for all.
So you may get your wish. It will likely result
Ther is no 'once and for all' military win for Israel. It's a seriously self-destructive delusion.
It is interesting to see things going so badly under netanyahu that even the usa is being seen as part of the problem for them.
If we weren't smart enough to put a "not for resale" restriction on weapons, that's on us.
I mean, how do we even know the attack wasn't because the drunk woman is offended by headwear of any kind? Perhaps if the Palestinian-American woman had been wearing a baseball hat she would also have been attacked! Pure baseless speculation and ragebait to make obvious conclusions based on common sense and life experience.
Just to clarify: you're suggesting that the racist drunk woman who was yelling about her "not being an American" is specifically hateful towards Palestinians, and not Muslims or even foreigners?
House demolitions and land seizures in the West Bank have accelerated. It's an ongoing Nakba, not ancient history the Palestinians should be getting over.
The government has approved strategic land seizures — almost 6,000 acres this year alone — and major settlement construction, escalated demolition of Palestinian property and increased state support for illegally built settler outposts. Together, they mark the most significant territorial changes in the West Bank in decades.
Just to clarify: you're suggesting that the racist drunk woman who was yelling about her "not being an American" is specifically hateful towards Palestinians, and not Muslims or even foreigners?
Even if it was, it is a singe anecdote in a nation of over 330 million people. It is actually insane how tolerant we are, and how bad actors amplify a miniscule number of anecdotes to construct a narrative that is complete bullshit.

Radicalization is a 2 way street. This is where the UN and the West has really failed the Palestinian people, and really the entire world. By encouraging and enabling radicalization among the Palestinian population (still ongoing), it ensured a spiral of hate.
I would like to point out again how completely artificial and distorted this entire situation is. The rest of the world is literally subsidizing an entire population refusing to move on from a war they lost 60 years ago, and providing perverse incentive structures to engage in extreme antisocial behavior.
The UN needs to start acting better. They need to stop subsidizing and encouraging such nihilistic, antisocial behavior. The incentive structures need to change, or radicalization both ways is going to get worse and worse and worse.

there are many other incidents. such as the 3 young Palestinians shot in Vermont, one of whom is permanently paralyzed. or the 6 year old Palestinian boy stabbed to death by his landlord who was frothing bc of the media's fearmongering about a "day of Jihad."
to make a comparison, if any of this happened to a Jewish person in the USA then would you not be concerned?
Maybe Israel needs to be cut off. But if that is the case then the Palestinians need to get completely cut off too, and we should facilitate emigration out of this nihilistic, toxic environment so everyone can move on and heal.

LOL. You keep repeating the same 3 anecdotes over and over. In a diverse nation of 335 million with a high amount of baseline violence and individual freedom. The exception proves the rule. If you weren't so warped by your ideology you would see your tiny number of anecdotes supports my argument, not yours.
In other news the President of Columbia resigned. Interesting timing. Seems like she was hoping things would die down over the summer and she could survive this. But at this point the writing is on the wall that the pro Hamas agitators (including students and faculty) are going to keep up their terrorism, including going after her and her family, and she is just getting ahead of it by resigning now.
Just to clarify: you're suggesting that the racist drunk woman who was yelling about her "not being an American" is specifically hateful towards Palestinians, and not Muslims or even foreigners?
Of course that's not what I'm saying and you know it --how did you possibly wind up with that interpretation? She's clearly hateful toward all three?
I'll make it simple for you: anti-Muslim attacks have been massively on the rise since 10/7. This is pretty well-documented:
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-ameri...
Part of what's fueling this bigotry is bigoted freaks on the right smearing anyone remotely visible as Muslim or even just sympathetic toward Palestine as "pro-Hamas." Just today in this very thread, for example:
But at this point the writing is on the wall that the pro Hamas agitators (including students and faculty)
Somehow it's "wild speculation" and "ragebait" to presume that acts of violence against Palestinian-Americans have anything to do with the post 10/7 wave of demagogues identifying these very people as Hamas terrorists. Even if this particular attack is just a wild coincidence, it obviously points to a very real effect.
just bigots on the right Trolly? our president, much of his party, and much of the liberal mainstream media are doing the same thing.
Lol at thinking that an undereducated completly stoned racist MAGA woman knows what Palestine actually is, where it is, except it's "arabia" and "not america"
