I assume you think Jan 6 people and Charlottesville people did nothing wrong (ones that did not explicitly break a law) and don’t deserve to be doxxed and fired purely for their political beliefs, which is exactly what Vic is talking about in this context.
I am on record asking the death penalty for the *violent rioters* on jan 6. While afaik outside a single person who got convicted for it, people in Charlottesville didn't commit any crime.
Still their identities shouldn't be concealed from the public when in public in general.
As for the doxxing, private information is private and it's a completly different thing. If you dox a private address (or other private information) it should be a crime, if you contact the employer of someone it isn't, if that job is public information.
Cancel culture is kinda dumb when it goes in stupid waves with grotesque exaggerations but that's up to the institutions canceling, in general it's not smart to try to appease rabid crowds.
But there can be very good reasons to cancel someone , even if no crimes are committed, and i am pro freedom, which includes freedom of association, which includes the right to decide who you associate with in all aspects on your life without having to justify it to third parties ever (yes this includes the right to discriminate for whatever reason in the private sector).
Ofc the public shouldn't be allowed to discriminate on anything.
I am actually libertarian. There is no violation of the NAP in telling people that a person did something, if he did, and if those people decide to discriminate that person for that, that's their freedom in action.
A right of privacy exists but it can't apply to actions you decide to take in public spaces can it?

I’m not a lawyer so I’m not going to speak to the actual law but I think you should have a right to privacy in public up until it affects the rights of others.
If I was going to have an opinion about covering one’s face when in public, I’d want to know things like how often that’s associated with crime and weigh that against considerations like protection from harassment, religious freedom, protection of health, etc.

The privacy laws are written to protect privacy only when there is an expectation of privacy, which effectively means when you're in private places.

why would they protest the side that isnt even in power? its your democrats that are sending billions in weapons that are used to mass murder children and break all International Law. it is your side that is working hand in hand to do plausible genocide.

The billions in weapons required a vote from the house which the republicans decided to have, because having the majority they could have decided to deny the vote.
Not sure if you didn't know that, but now you do. Republicans were fundamental for the latest Israel (and Ukraine) aid. Without them not a penny could have been spent helping Israel.
And with that i mean republican LEADERSHIP. The house speaker could have singlehandedly stopped any help if he wanted to, by refusing to have the house vote on it.

He must be a new-age libertarian, who believes only the liberties important to him should be protected. That used to be called a Republican, but the English language is dynamic and always shifting.
I have been saying 12319201 times i am more of a classic liberal, but these days libertarian conveys my positions more than republican would, so i define myself as a pragmatic rightwing libertarian.
But for libertarians you don't have rights on other people property (and that includes public property).

Because Kamala Harris is not in power and is the only one calling for a ceasefire and meeting with the protestors. This isn't complicated and I'm surprised you are struggling with it.
