It's hard for me to imagine anybody being legit upset with squid. Maybe the occasional, good-natured tease, but nothing serious.

I’m legit upset with him. Two winters now (in a row?) where he said he was headed to CO to slay… and nada.

Very big mad.

2 years ago i was spoda go to breck and hang cuz my pal had a condo on the hill 4 us. we legit got snowed in here and could not come to co. this past season when we were planning to come out spc couldnt find a clear route to ride her bike and quite frankly at this point since we will be spending this winter season schushing at americas top rated resort for amenities we are a little too uppercrust to mingle with the proletariat in colorado

Rick roll - SPC got back from the big sky ride a few days ago. She had so much fun she just went out and bought a full suspension mountain bike. She is also planning on doing this ride. It starts next week and its serious fcuking bizness.

omg, nursing off my hangover right now and this is a very terrifying thing to read

perhaps we'll cross paths in bozeman though 😀

Those mountain passes are already getting snow.

With 100k' of climb, I assume there must be almost 100k' of decent, too? That sounds like more fun...

Looked at the MT bike odyssey route. Great scenery, seems incredibly tough to me. GL SPC!

yeah, I just took a long look at that route. Would love to do it on my KLR650, not so sure on a bicycle, even in my 20's when I actually road a bike alot. Some mighty fine scenery.

Western Montana will always be $HOME to me, even though I've never actually lived there. Rest of the family is/was up there, so I go on the reg.

The ride looks pretty scary to me too. It has 400 miles of the notorious tour divide which to me looks like the purest of all suck. SPC is officially regged up and heading back to montana on monday for the tuesday departure. She is planning on racing this one.

@az & GD - spc was truly blown away by the beauty of montana and is super duper excited for this tour

wish her the best but in the current shape i'm in, there's no way i'd subject myself to that ride

riding uphill on switchbacks is probably worse than waterboarding so i at least hope route doesn't include any of those

Selling a manufacturing company I started in 1980 next Tuesday.

Long distance release

Is this a fishing reference, or ???

Yeah, buddy and I try to LDR anything small.... but play on words? we did the transfer of biz yesterday remotely.

Congrats! That double meaning was RedEyes levels of obscure, though.

Turns out it's a bad idea to leave a vacuum pump sitting for three years in the south with no oil. Drained it for the move and then left it drained because it wasn't in use. Didn't think about the atmosphere in the garage. Added oil and fired it up, it ran great... for about 5 minutes.

Who has oily hands and learned a ****-ton about vacuum pumps? This guy!

Actually got it running again, though it needs some parts to be considered a full rebuild. Interesting, but also a PITA and one hell of a mess.

That sucks…

Was it a vacuum pump like what they use to remove freon?

Sure, that was it.

Yup. In jewelry making, you use them to get air bubbles out of the casting material.

I really hope that other type doesn't use a 1/2hp motor and a rotary impeller, or someone is in danger of an exploding willy.

Got invited to a new game that’s absolutely soft. Get up 200bb quick and then proceed to get crushed by coolers and get felted. The type of night that makes you wonder if you should ever play again… but you know you will. Puke.

Losing in soft games is so annoying. Intellectually, you know it will happen in these donkfests, and you even know that you want the donks to win sometimes so they keep playing. But in the moment it just seems unfair and soul-crushing.

Been a while since we had a "confidently asserting that everybody has it wrong and it's actually " guy posting. It's nice to see that they still double down and then when proved wrong don't respond instead of thanking folks for clearing up their misconception.

Hey Rickroll,
Bikepacking.com axed spc to do a write up on the big sky ride. So here it is

She is currently in day 2 of the montana bike odyssey (1700 mile gravel ride)

Great story and pictures. Thanks for sharing, squid, and make sure to thank SPC to take time to write it up.
