Agreed. The trick of not coming off as racist is to not be a racist. It's much harder to pull off when you're an actual racist, which is why many conservatives point to behavior they see non-racists engaging in and mistake it for their own attempts of not appearing racist.

I just don't see it that way. The article is quite objective. You appear to not like what the article says, which we can certainly have different perspectives about, but that doesn't make it subjective or a hit piece.

Like I said, when someone continually looks for clues they identify as faking not being a racist it's usually a good sign of where they're at in terms of racism.

The first was his constant barrage of John McCain. There were a lot of moderate/conservative republicans who were furious at Trump's mud slinging at McCain.
The second had to do with pardoning Joe Arpaio the Arizona sheriff who had basically been trying to deport Hispanic people on his own and was sentenced to go to jail for illegal aggressive behavior. This cost Trump a lot of Hispanic votes in AZ. In fact Trump had a lower % of Hispanic voters in AZ than any other red or purple state (including VA and CO which may not even have been purple...)

I figured the logical train of progression for those clowns was:
1. Meme spreads that this is happening
2. Trump says this is happening during debate
3. City manager has refuted this therefore he is covering it up cuz something something deep state
4. Bomb threats to city manager and/or deep state city hall to save the dogs and cats trump says are being eaten
5. And here we are with the friends we made along the way

I wasn't comparing Trump with McCain. I was just explaining why Trump lost Arizona in 2020.
Bill Clinton was the last Democrat to win AZ in his 2nd term in 1996 only and then before him it was Harry Truman in 1948.
AZ was basically a Red State and Trump somehow managed to lose it in 2020 while he was President running for a 2nd term. And now it is a toss up state this year. Specifically because Trump has alienated Hispanics in the State and had hammered John McCain (dead now) who was a beloved politician in AZ.
Its not just the State that Trump lost. Because he had rejected Jeff Flake the Senator and caused Flake's numbers to plummet Flake retired from the Senate rather than fail in his primary. Democrat Kristen Sinema then became the Senator in 2018, up against McSally, which was the blue wave year because Trump was President. Then Mark Kelley beat McSally in 2020 who had been appointed Senator when John McCain died --- pretty much because Trump lost AZ in 2020. Then Mark Kelly beat Blake Masters who was Trump's choice in 2022 which should have been a red wave year in a basically red state. We also had Kari Lake losing the Governor election in 2022 because she was a rabid Trump fan. And now Kari Lake running for Senate is trailing the Democrat in polls in part because she is still a rabid Trump fan. And a lot of AZ basically hates Trump...
Kind of like GA. Where two Democratic Senators won in 2020 because Trump lost GA and then went ballistic against GA Republican politicians (including Governor and Secretary of State) before the Senate finals were held. So now GA is a toss up State when it should be Red not purple. GA has been a little less red than AZ as Clinton won in 1992 and Jimmy Carter won it twice in 1976 & 1980 and JFK won it in 1960. Still how in the world did Donald Trump lose it in 2020? Oh wait its because he is basically a racist who tore into Barack Obama pretending he wasn't born in the US. And Joe Biden cleverly picked Kamala Harris as the VP and then Stacey Abrams who lost the Governor race in 2018 by very little decided to help register voters. With Biden taking basically 92% of the black vote in 2020 which matters in GA because GA is 33% black. My guess is that the immigration thing where Haitians eat pets is going to cost Trump GA because, well, Haitians are black.

I mean 1 and 2 were already implied but it's fine to add them. The threats weren't that focused afaik it was schools, fire depts, the dmv and other local govt related stuff. I think some city hall level pols were directly targeted though but that's going to cover the entire building wrt closing/searching.
