2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Trump: "The audience was absolutely, they went crazy."
The imaginary audience went crazy?
Something marvelous about the S&P going up 1.8% and Truth Social plummeting to an all-time low makes me happy
Company still overvalued by 2.99 billion tho
Truth social is a pump and dump scheme, he just needs it to be worth 5 dollars a share to make billions
I'd like to start this by saying I'm still undecided and have no allegiance to either party. I've voted for Republican, Democrat, and Independent presidential candidates in the past.
That said, my biggest complaint in general (not here necessarily) is the large nunber of people using personal attacks (especially based on appearance) towards the candidates, and then wondering why they can't get someone to take their opinion seriously. There are more than enough complaints without sinking to personal attacks based on appearance and if you can't use those, it makes me wonder about ones ability to think critically.
Social media is full of people on both sides attacking candidates....racists attacking Kamala Harris, or those attacking Donald Trump calling him "orange man", "cheeto", etc.
Am I the only one who finds these things repulsive? It's hard to take a criticism seriously if you attack someone's personal appearance, especially as someone who was bullied in high school.
Just my thoughts. Carry on. I am trying to soak up as much info as I can and make an educated decision before election day.

Idk how you can honestly be undecided at this point unless you’ve just had your head in the sand for the past decade.
It wouldn't be as much an experiment as you think, because that's already how a significant portion of colleges operate (and a growing number of voucher schools in k12 as well).
How much regulation to have would become another topic but banking is hyper regulated yet private, and I don't think you would prefer state owned and controlled banks.
The dice rolling as well wouldn't be very dramatic, doing better than the worst run public schools isn't going to be hard
yes and there's massive levels of fraud in private colleges - the good ones that we all attend and are familiar with are the select few
there are over 2,000 for profit universities in the us which are just degree mills with little to no value to their graduates
if i were charge i'd outlaw those as well - but at least the people attending them are making that idiotic decision on their own whereas with fraudulent primary school it's the children who suffer when the adults make bad decisions on their behalf
The teamsters thing illustrates the cult. Trump is definitely anti union and yet a majority support him anyway. I'll go to my grave not understanding this.
it's really simple, in a theoretical scenario where if trump walked into a teamsters bar and hung out for an evening with them, he'd fit right in, he may go an unhinged rants, but he speaks like a regular blue collar person using simple words and sentence structures and would not be afraid to talk smack to you in a friendly manner nor receive it either
like here he's just being insulted and is fine with it and goes along with it - it's obviously a bit where they tell the people beforehand what they're doing and ask if it's ok but you see here and he's someone who can interact and chill with regular people - even those a bit more on the "aggro jock" side of the spectrum which of course many teamsters will find themselves aligned
compare that to this
look how artificial it is, this is not an organic human reaction, they are patronizing her much like you would if you played a special needs child with leukemia in dominos and their make a wish was to play dominos and they are surrounded by staffers with her staffers outnumbering these commoners she's supposed to be interacting with like 3:1
meanwhile kamala hangs out with regular people sometimes but like hilldawg there's more aides and camera crew than people and it's very much like a tv set rather than a regular interaction
the og clinton was very good at interacting with randos organically
biden and obama were both pretty good at interacting with normies as well, especially obama who perhaps did it better than any president we've ever had
but i digress
do you think for one second that kamala would feel comfortable hanging out in a teamsters bar? not her and her team of aides and camera crews, just her walking in solo? nor that she'd get along with people and be able to react well when they say mean things to her when she misses her pool shot?
same problem hillary had, remember this meme of her seeing what a kitchen in harlem looks like?
this is the only reason why they are voting for trump, because trump is someone they can visualize hanging out with and not kamala
in b4 it's because they're racist and hate women
Obama is an egghead, but I think he was great at hanging out with people because he has a legit sense of humor.

Agreed. The irony is that Trump wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with any of his supporters, at least any of the non-wealthy / non-celebrity ones.
If he sells all his shares in Truth Social and leaves his supporters holding the bag, do you think he will lose support?
My guess is that undecideds largely either pay no attention or consume too much extreme content from all angles in the attempt to find balance. The former are completely uninformed and the latter are just confused.
