"create stories" doesn't mean lying. It means talking about stuff in an organized narrative manner. Started from a kernel of truth often enough.

I have never heard the term "creating stories" used in the context of reporting factual information, even if that information has been overlooked. I have heard it used in the context of wildly exaggerating or outright fabricating information plenty of times, though. I think you'd have a hard time proving your interpretation to a jury.

It's actually commonplace in marketing, you need to "create stories" around your product which doesn't mean to lie about it, rather to build viral narratives that relate to your product.

I’d give him the benefit of the doubt but this was an irresponsible lie and he is not a salesman, he’s a statesman and he should act like one. I had people come up to me at work and ask me if I heard that Haitian migrants are eating people’s pets. You don’t think this outright fabrication is dangerous?

Vance didn't say he "didn't regreat spreading baseless rumors", that's a made up claim by DNC media. IT doesn't matter how many DNC-aligned media companies repeat that claim, it doesn't become true.
Vance never admitted the "rumors were baseless", he claimed his office had received those claims, he never claimed they were confirmed, and he didn't regret telling people he received those claims.
*as per your article*. You can't find a verbatim by Vance admitting he lied. Your DNC press made that up. It doesn't become true if the DNC media makes that up, if anything, it should convince normal people never again to believe DNC media about any claim about anything

It has to do with your question whether i think it's dangerous to spread unproven negative claims about a group.
If the group isn't a good one to admit in the country without filtering, anything that decreases the will of the people to accept those people in... is objectively a positive for society, isn't it? regardless of it's truth value.
So before we consider a claim "dangerous" (As in , capable of damaging society) we need to know if reducing acceptance for group X is a negative or a positive for society, shouldn't we?
