In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.

When he bought it my understanding was most people in the know thought the offer price was way too high. Maybe there was some optimism by Cult of Musk disciples he would do some financial magic and make it a +EV investment, but it looks like the people saying this were right. Of course, who knows what was offered to his investment partners (such as the Saudi's) behind the scenes. So maybe if we knew all these details it would make more sense.
And obviously if Trump wins the election and push

Twitter itself is saddled with the debt required to buy it and that costs a lot to service (especially these days compared to 2022) and that's a significant part of the decline in value of the equity stake in Twitter itself.
yes I agree that there are future scenarios where some events could make twitter value jump a lot higher, but also scenarios where it could go to 0 if political enemies of tusk (and he has many these days) manage to accomplish what they want
Facebook social media don't censor pro Hezbollah and pro Hamas content and the advertisers who quit Twitter all advertise there, and there is nothing more antisemitic than pro Hamas and pro Hezbollah content.
Do their adverts appear next to this content? IIRC it wasn't about what the rest of the platform was doing, it was about where their adverts were appearing, and the general public backlash.

Please don't spread propoganda and disinformation; that's what your controllers are doing. The President doesn't need a "border bill". When they came into office they immediatly reversed all of Trump's border polices without "congress's approval" which opened up the border and flooded the United States with millions of unknown, illegal immagrants that are being shipped out to cities all over the country. You don't have a problem with this? He can close the border without a bill, just like he opened it the second they came into office. Their "border bill" was full of billions of dollars to help other countries which they tried to sneak in. The Republicans would of signed a bill that was for the border, not for The United States of Ukraine.

The president can’t make appropriations to hire more agents and asylum judges without the consent of congress. Also you are completely full of crap about the Ukraine spending, that was split into a different bills and still passed. Can you at least make an effort to live in reality?
