2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
The guys that can’t even accept a simple mod request to move to the correct thread wonder why they keep getting banned, more at 11
i assure you, i've seen dozens of posters who have been banned for doing things that's quite common otherwise and even regularly done by others, including myself - fact you don't think there are any unjust or seemingly random bannings is probably the main reason why sklansky ranked you below me because that's a huge leak to not properly understand
i had a mod ban me, when i dm'd him asking what it was he banned me for he wrote back an expletive filled dm full of personal insults saying he couldn'
This is the kind of behavior that may affect rankings.
as I said, he had already refiled (august 27th of this year) following SCOTUS immunity decision.
btw the fact he can refile means that... it isn't so obvious Trump has immunity for those actions so why do you claim SCOTUS decided otherwise?
You still don't seem to understand. What he refiled in August was the original revised indictment. What he filed last week and which was unsealed today was the prosecution's position for the judge to evaluate about why the indictment and charges don't fall under the SCOTUS recent ruling regarding presidential immunity. They were both made necessary by the SCOTUS's ruling and would not have occurred otherwise. If you're upset about the fact these filings had to occur then maybe you should take it up with the SCOTUS.
After Mr. Trump’s Twitter post focused the enraged mob’s attention on harming Mr. Pence and the Secret Service took the vice president to a secure location, an aide rushed into the dining room off the Oval Office where Mr. Trump was watching television. The aide alerted him to the developing situation, in the hope that Mr. Trump would then take action to ensure Mr. Pence’s safety.
Instead, Mr. Trump looked at the aide and said only, “So what?” according to the brief.
In insisting that this post was an unofficial act, Mr. Smith noted that Mr. Trump’s advisers had been urging him to issue a message to quell the violence, but he had refused and instead tweeted about Mr. Pence.

Just want to say I’m really enjoying your work and methodology Mr. Rick. Probably one of the highest quality posters in this thread.
Basically anything that has Trump within a margin of error of +3 or less to Harris is Trump in front on election day. In the last month too in the 2020 election is when Trump made the most in-roads too - conservatives tend to do better as the campaign goes on because the undecideds break then and the undecideds the later it goes on the greater tendency they have is to go with a conservative choice rather than risk the progressive (and that conservative choice is because it makes them the most financially secure (or could also be actual security of themselves and property)).
Guns for Fins I'm pretty sure are just mainly display items - they aren't really the type (nor do they have the game anyway) to go out hunting as many legal gunowners own guns for in the US have them for.
What? Finland is big about hunting
, and it's crazy full of game.
They have also a longstanding idea of being ready to fight an existential war house by house square meter by square meter of their land against Russia, as their grandparents did
Because your knowledge of Europe is vast compared to….actual Europeans?

As an Irish person this is shocking to me. I have only ever met one person who hunts in my life. I live in a city but I know loads of rural people and have plenty of relatives in the countryside.
Frankly, I'm a little bit suspicious of whatever data was used to generate this image.
Edit: I can only think that they're including all sorts of various, non-firearm, activities to get this kind of figure - like fox hunting or coursing.
Probably depends on what you call hunting.
Irelands rural communities would certainly kill some animals with guns.
Shocker:
Study: Conservative users' misinformation sharing drives higher suspension rates, not platform bias
A new paper, "Differences in misinformation sharing can lead to politically asymmetric sanctions," published today in Nature suggests that the higher quantity of social media policy enforcement (such as account suspensions) for conservative users could be explained by the higher quantity of misinformation shared by those conservative users—and so does not constitute evidence of inherent biases in the policies from social media companies or in the definition of what constitutes misinformation.
Written by researchers from MIT Sloan School of Management, the University of Oxford, Cornell University, and Yale University, co-authors of the paper include Mohsen Mosleh, Qi Yang, Tauhid Zaman, Gordon Pennycook and David G. Rand.
"Accusations of political bias are often based largely on anecdotes or noteworthy cases, such as the suspension from Twitter and Facebook of former President Trump," said MIT Sloan professor Rand. "This study allows us to systematically evaluate the data and better understand the differential rates of policy enforcement."

The Hill: Trump says he’d revoke protected status for Haitian migrants
Former President Trump said in a Wednesday interview with NewsNation that he would revoke the protected status of Haitian migrants and have them removed from the city of Springfield, Ohio.
“It has nothing to do with Haiti or anything else. You have to remove the people, and you have to bring them back to their own country,” Trump told NewsNation’s Ali Bradley.
“Springfield is such a beautiful place. Have you seen what’s happened to it? It’s been overrun. You can’t do that to people. They have to be removed,” he added. “Absolutely I’d revoke (the protected status), and I’d bring them back to their country.”

Trump would deport Melania if he though it would get him elected.
Fun fact - Melania worked in this country illegally and would've been subjected to deportation under Trump's immigration policies.

I think they are using hunting permits
Bundy bringing the all the MAGA hits I see.
"I'm sure that X is the case"
"Here are some facts that show definitively that you're wrong"
"Yeah, I call BS on that"
Conservatives and facts - a long standing acrimony. "Facts don't care about your feelings, but they care about mine", right, bundy?
What they wanna hunt in Ireland? Rats?. There is nothing there to hunt!!

I mean the Finnish interior ministry site self defines Finland as a country of "hunting and gun enthusiasts"
It doesn’t have to be an either/or. Obama had substance and off the charts charisma. Bill Clinton had it too. In a nation of 300 million+ people being an s tier public speaker when running for vp/pres should be table stakes.
Bill Clinton only got 43% and 49% of the popular so it's not like he was just so much better than later Dem candidates at getting votes.

Vance just said Donald Trump won the 2020 election.
To better understand this difference, the researchers examined what content was shared by these politically active Twitter users in terms of the reliability of the sources through two different methods. They used a set of 60 news domains (the 20 highest volume sites within the categories of mainstream, hyper-partisan and fake news), and collected trustworthiness ratings for each domain from eight professional fact-checkers.
In an effort to eliminate concern about potential bias on the part of journalists and fact-checkers, the researchers also collected ratings from politically-balanced groups of laypeople. Both approaches indicated that people who used Trump hashtags shared four times more links to low-quality news outlets than those who used Biden hashtags.
"Prior work identifying political differences in misinformation sharing has been criticized for relying on the judgment of professional fact-checkers. But we show that conservative Twitter users shared much lower quality news, even when relying on ratings from politically-balanced groups of laypeople," said co-author Dr. Mohsen Mosleh, Associate Professor, Oxford Internet Institute, part of the University of Oxford.
"This can't be written off as the result of political bias in the ratings, and means that preferential suspension of conservative users is not necessarily the result of political bias on the part of social media companies."
