Not sure if GG is old so iPod is the name he has used for 20 years even though it's not technically correct now, or if he's old and has a 10 year old iPod for music because he hates the cloud (from another old man, in case it wasn't obvious).
i'd honestly be shocked if he wasn't still using an iPod
100% actual iPod. IIRC, my wife gave it to me as a Valentine's Day gift one year.

We still have an old oversized thumb-drive looking MP3 player around here somewhere, but I don't think we've used it in years. The songs weren't listed by name or artist, just by number.
What song was #5440?

I don't think we loaded that many. I'll see if I can find it and if it will still take a charge.
had played 20 hours of poker this year before yesterday for +310. Last night I had a function at the casino and snuck into the room, basically to log the hour of play needed for free parking
+2454 in 1 hour and we are BACK! All off regs too. Felt very good
Well, the Niners had to scare me with a late game loss of momentum again, but they got it back in the end. Whew!
Congrats on the totally sustainable hourly, feelers. I did the play for the free parking bit in New Orleans on one of our vacations a few years back and basically paid for the whole trip. If those were regs though, I should move to the Crescent City.
Nice way to spend an hour, feel wrath.
There are times in one’s life where they need to weigh the balance of where their life choices have led them
This is one of those times
it was really enjoyable. BecUse of how little I’ve played, I haven’t had a little rush like that in about two years. Actually got some satisfaction from it too, in the sense that while of course, the hands I won involved me hitting hands and getting paid, there were elements of outplaying regs too. It wasn’t winning flips or getting it in and getting there.
Still…I’ve been around long enough to know that it isn’t the norm and that there’ll be some run bad and play bad coming soon

A gangly looking gg type on meth who hasn’t played a hand since I sat down min clicked my hi $10 open to $20 from co and I snap folded KQ
today was easily the worst poker session i can ever remember
damage was only 150x bbs but i think i played terribly
folded KJs on a J559r board to a guy who just lost his 2/3 of his stack the prior hand - i opened pre and he called, i cbet flop and checked turn for reasons i'm still unsure of and he jammed about 1.5x pot, i couldn't think of any value he had there that would play that way - wouldn't see why he'd play Jx that way nor how he could have 5x (and then choose to overjam turn) - so nothing about it made sense but every hand i'd sheen at showdown he had top pair top kicker or better so he seemed pretty snug - i was focused on some 2nd half ncaaf betting during the prior hand and thought he'd doubled up his small stack (but he actually got sucked out on and lost most his chips)
in hindsight it was an obvious call but i found myself in a check-fold situation because I checked without a plan and even worse, hadn't paid enough attention to know his mental state was steaming
later an arab looking old guy i mentally called jafar (probably srm's uncle for all i know) that called and chased everything and not once had I seen him bet without a strong hand x/c, x/c on a board where i had top two and all draws missed other than a gutshot then leads out for 50% pot on the river and his hands are visibly shaking - i then talk myself into a call thinking the odds of him having a set is very low, the flush draw missed so he could be bluffing that, and afterall, i sometimes have shaky hands in large pots when i'm bluffing as my hands would do that in big pots not whether or not i had a monster
so i talked myself into calling jafar's bet, something he's rarely ever done, thinking he's bluffing or has a lesser 2p or something and of course he has the stone cold nuts calling off two streets of large wagers to chase his gusthot that he hits on the river
two spots where i should have made the obvious plays but talked myself into making dumb calls
but meth head gg turned out to be a pretty chill dude - did not play hockey though (and yes i asked)
Annual eye exam last week. Practice changed hands, new doctor a young guy.
Speaks a mile a minute, has scabs on nose and forehead. Didn't get a look at his teeth. The whole time, I was thinking of the episode in Breaking Bad with the party at Jesse's house.
I don't imagine I have a meth-head eye doctor, it's just a stereotype. But still.
it was probably GG
Followup to Garick's question - was this where the meth head happened? Debbies doesn't seem to advertise poker but could have games?
it was along the way and thought i'd check it out for some ap play - found a few machines but ran terribly and lost 78 bucks - my suspicion is that pay tables are probably not on the up and up at debbies
Did they at least have little debbie snack cakes?
Managed to get Oasis tix too. Long time to wait (and for Noel and Liam to stay friendly) before next Nov
I am starting to think you may have a problem.
In other news, Uncle Skip is back to coaching. I have 7th graders this year (8 returning from last year's 6th grade team) and they are actually kind of fun so far. (I will likely need to revisit this statement in 3 months.) I lost one of my top 2 from last season as his parents are pursuing "training" rather than playing so he can focus on his future NIL earnings. No sadness on my end as I was worried that although his parents and I managed last season with no issues, there was little chance of that continuing this season.
I am enjoying it, but this is also reinforcing that the time for me to step down is near. I just don't have the energy I used to have. I have a younger assistant who will be elevating into a head coaching role soon and he is saving me.
I still need to figure out what to do with my time when I hang this up.
I might be able to answer that question for you from my own experience
I've had basically 0 free time this year as I've been renovating my house for at least 5 hours every day of every weekend, as well as driving my son around to all of the stuff included in his training for and playing 3 organised sports this winter, over and above the standard parenting and bizniss challenges.
Well...the house was finished last week and went on the market on Friday and my son plays his rugby on Friday nights, so after we had our 'open home' on Sat at 11am, I had an entire weekend stretching out ahead of me and basically zero responsibilities. I treated the occasion maturely by a long lunch at a Mexican place followed by sustained, enthusiastic binge drinking that resulted in some disgraceful late night public making out with the extremely milfy mother of one my son's friends, in front of a group of women who all know my soontobeexwife. I woke up at 10am with a moral hangover, a giant hole in my wallet and a skip in my step!
so....the future is bright my friend!
