2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Trumpism is more of a reaction, a defense mechanism against a changing world that's perceived as a threat to conventional America. I doubt that it's particularly something new in regard to human behavior but it's certainly something that hasn't really taken place in our lifetime to this degree.
I'd imagine that one of the many culprits would be the heavy injection of social media, the double-edged sword of tapping into and expanding the modernized lucrative business of advertising and creating sensationalized stories which increases a whole host of emotions that leads to a lot of negative results. To me, Trumpism feels like one giant oscillating emotion that fluctuates and overcorrects, and it makes sense why we had such a powerful surge for Kamala after the last debate the fizzled out.
Apparently I’m not allowed to respond in kind, so I’ll try to keep things more substantive. Truth is not a strength of the maga movement or pseudo-centrists that always seem to side with Trump. I’m not a twitter leftist and actually praised Kamala’s early campaign for shying away from identity politics and instead focusing on the middle class. I’m not someone who goes around focusing on racial or gender oppression, or who even agrees with the “oppressed vs opp
Your mutual hypocrisy is what I was pointing out, not how great Trump is, and this is yet another shining example of your own critical thinking limitations and confirmation bias. There is no substance in this post at all, only the same tired innuendo that if you aren't a full-on purple haired, dildo wearing, Kamala supporter then you MUST be a democracy hating neo-NAZI. Your reasoning, if it can even be called that, carries no weight with anyone and neither do your value judgements.
Lol. What a load of cliche ridden nonsense.
I mean are you sure you aren't over-reacting or exaggerating just a little bit here? Over one story that turned out to be mistaken.
Lol. You're an inveterate liar and all you do here is peddle propaganda. One story? More like 90%+ of your posts.

If you think populism in a multi-polar world is a passing fad, you're behind the curve.

Ironic that you complain* about a lack of substance while posting stuff like this. Again you’re fighting with ghosts over here but I know you have to, like I said, pigeonhole people into your preferred reactionary narrative.
Btw you would be destroyed in a VC debate where you’re not able to filibuster. You’d probably be reduced into a stuttering mess. I can smell the insecurity through the screen.

I mean that wasn’t being directed at you, but if it made you feel some type of way then maybe subsconsciously you know there’s truth to it.
Your diagnosis is a little easier, you’re just a boomer with confirmation bias.

There you go with those cliches again.
I posted a story from a usually reliable source that turned out to be mistaken. And that source owned up and openly admitted that he got it wrong. How many on the left ever do that? Very few I would suspect.

The point is that you didn't admit you were wrong, and you never do, no matter how many times your bullshit is debunked and/or your lies called out.

How would you know? Whenever you’re called out on your fake news you just move on and post another fake story. Everyone here has seen how you operate.
Anyway I’m done engaging with the trolls. Time for something completely different…
Jill Stein nazbol confirmed? (/j in case it isn’t obvious)
Looks like fake news.

Stein disavowed. Apparently Duke endorsed her over her stance on Israel compared to Trump.

Incorrect. I don't post fake news. I'm a very factually driven person. As I said my sources are usually pretty reliable.
Occasionally I might get it wrong but it's very rare.
That story I posted was corrected and the correction posted itt before I was aware that it was corrected. Therefore there was no need for me to repeat it and post the correction myself.

Just checking, was the 2020 election rigged?

Excellent, I'll go ahead and update the list of posters who self identify as factually driven, non fake news posting, good faith netizens. So far we have:
- Brian James
- Playbig2000
- Victor
- Deuces McCracken
There's something all these posters have in common, but I just can't seem to put my finger on it. A certain je ne sais quoi, I guess.

Neither do you, which is why you're a hypocrite and your value judgements of others are unimportant. Some of your beliefs about reality are objectively wrong and some are debatable, but not only will you never admit either, you berate others into thinking they're bad people for differing with you. This shaming tactic is designed to coerce compliance, but you're not actually changing anyone's mind. You're just making them hate you and be even more firm in their beliefs, and then they elect Trump. And then in your astounding ignorance you blame their character flaws for that too.
It’s funny how you got mad at me for saying that you pigeonhole everything into your preconceived narrative but that’s every one of your posts. Sad!
21 days of complete and utter bullshit from the right to go...and then POOF
By the most optimistic standards, even if kamala wins POOF only occurs after jan 6 and it becomes official
The 2 months between Election Day and Jan 6 would be significantly worse than the lead up has been if kamala wins

I try not to have any preconceived narrative. Many of my beliefs, unfortunately, are not reflected in either of our current choices for President, and I don't suspect they will ever be.
However, the evidence suggests we don't really live in a democracy, so when you and people like you claim Trump will destroy it if he gets elected, I'm skeptical. When they say he attempted to destroy it last time he got elected, even though he left office peacefully and is no longer in power, I'm skeptical. When they claim the will of the people is paramount yet acted any way they could to contravene it including tenuous impeachments, made-up dossiers, and removing him from the ballot, I'm skeptical.
What I see from "your" side is that whenever it suits you to debate an issue, you will move goalposts, change definitions, back away from your supposed ideals, ad-hom and emotionally blackmail your opponent. You'll even contradict yourself like in one breath claiming abortion should be legal but in another that murdering a pregnant female should be considered double homicide. Or that if a man closes his eyes, crosses his fingers, cuts off his balls and puts on lipstick while wishing to Auntie M, then by some progressive magic he transforms into a woman. Not only that, but everyone including me has to agree or our livelihoods are threatened.
What I see from the other side is that they're tired of being called racist and privileged and stupid and redneck and backwater and whatever other pejorative you can come up with. So fed up that they will elect a reality TV star just to piss you off. I don't really blame them.
