today was easily the worst poker session i can ever remember
damage was only 150x bbs but i think i played terribly
folded KJs on a J559r board to a guy who just lost his 2/3 of his stack the prior hand - i opened pre and he called, i cbet flop and checked turn for reasons i'm still unsure of and he jammed about 1.5x pot, i couldn't think of any value he had there that would play that way - wouldn't see why he'd play Jx that way nor how he could have 5x (and then choose to overjam turn) - so nothi
Neither was obvious until you knew the cards.
Happy Columbus Day, traditional Americans.
Happy Indigenous People's Day, Americans whose traditions stretch back more than a few hundred years.
Happy Indignant People's Day, everyone who is mad about either of the other options.
Great job, feely! On poker, completing the house, AND making out with milfs.
I finally found a great live game close to home. I want to quit my job and become a double board PLO bomb pot pro.
On a sweet little rush, about +$14k the last two weeks. I agree hitting hands and outplaying regs feels FANTASTIC, for as long as it lasts.
DMW - Have you thought much about relocating? This does not sound like fun at all
Phoenix, Arizona is arguably facing one of the most extraordinary heatwaves ever recorded in American history, both in terms of duration and intensity. Yesterday marked the 20th CONSECUTIVE day on which the city either tied or set a record high temperature. Nearly *three straight weeks* of record-breaking temperatures. Truly mind-blowing. This is the longest such streak for any weather station in the U.S., pulverizing the previous all-time record of 14 consecutive days set in Burlington, Iowa in 1936. And even among all global stations with 50+ years of data, it would be hard to find anything comparable. Let's also recall that Phoenix set two monthly records within a span of just 4 days, which is insane (117°F on September 28, previous September monthly heat record was 108°F set in 1992 and 113°F on October 1, previous October monthly heat record was 107°F set in 1980 and 2020). Records in Phoenix date back to 1895.
You live in the ****ing desert!

I might be able to answer that question for you from my own experience
I've had basically 0 free time this year as I've been renovating my house for at least 5 hours every day of every weekend, as well as driving my son around to all of the stuff included in his training for and playing 3 organised sports this winter, over and above the standard parenting and bizniss challenges.
Well...the house was finished last week and went on the market on Friday and my son plays his rugby on Friday nights, so
Surely the Aussies have a more artful term for making out?
Thanks man. I was counting down the days until August and everything after, for the symbolic calendar change that meant summer was over. After Labor Day, it went above 100 every day until Tuesday. I have not seen a hot half before but it looks like we have finally outlasted it.
My 18 yo AC stopped blowing cold air yesterday, after serving like a trooper (not that trooper) all summer long. Poor thing probably got tired.
Thankfully, we were able to open up the house and enjoy the cool evening/night air last night, and the AC peeps will be out this afternoon.
Never got above 84 in the house, which would have been much different May-Sept...
I translated for the linguistically challenged
‘Pashing’ is the standard term and then ‘party pashing’ is what I was doing because it was in public
Slang terms are weird. Pash as short for passionate sounded stupid to me at first, until I thought about what "making out" might mean literally. Now I must admit that pushing makes more sense than snogging or making out.
Can one (or a couple/threesome/etc) make in? If so, what does it mean?

does Trooper still do his vlogs? surely not?
He does. But he's in the candy business now. They're still infatuated with him in the vlogger thread in LVL.
That would be a lot more profitable for him, but no. He's a full partner in Sprkli now with a commercial kitchen and everything. Making brittle and pralines full time! I've never really followed him, but checked in on the vlogger thread a couple of days ago and got sucked in to watching a couple of minutes of his latest.
sadly trooper is one of those guys that thinks hes special. He thought he could go from rec gambooler to pro with no work away from the table and spun his wheels for years. He is attempting to do the same with selling candy. He made candy on a rec basis from home and is trying to go pro. It seems that once again he has done none of the important work away from the kitchen to insure success and appears to be flailing.

Does anyone know what his vlogging pays him? Obvs it would be ideal to be good at candy too, but if he makes enough from the content then maybe the ups and downs of his new biz is good for the real money earner ?
Even though I’m in the marketing world, the influencer/content creator space still
boggles me totally

According to this site he's not making more than 68 bucks per month from youtube revenue https://socialblade.com/youtube/user/the...
But a lot of his candy buyers are vlog watchers and he was selling clothing and other merch, so those are other ways he's monetized his audience. I'm no marketing expert but I think it's very difficult to make good money from youtube views alone, but it can be a vehicle to get your name out there to generate other revenue streams.

My kids all love a YouTube family called The Norris Nuts and they are making many millions per year from it

I may need to watch what he is doing to avoid the same pitfalls in my candy business.
Not much of a business if you just give it all away free from your van Skippy
