I wonder if the way there was a secretive vote for Trump in '16 if this time there will be a secretive vote against him. By those seeing a bit more of him that are embarrassed to have voted for him. As we saw then, a small percentage can swing it. Trying to give the voters some credit here.

For the entire time you have been alive, people in prison have received free healthcare except for copays of a few dollars--basic and shitty healthcare, yes, but virtually free nonetheless.

So what are the most reliable polls saying? I'm hearing so many different takes I can't make sense of it. Leads me to believe that genuinely nobody knows. Bit like Trump vs Hilary.

My overall view on the election is the following:
1) I would be shocked if the winner of Pennsylvania did not win the election.
2) There is a lot of noise in the polling, in part because of Trump and in part because it is difficult to estimate what impact the GOP catching the car on abortion will have on turnout.
3) If Kamala wins, it will be because of historically high turnout among women, especially young women.
4) 3 is likely enough that I think this election is close to a tossup.
I definitely will not be shocked if Trump wins. In other words, I am nowhere near as bullish on Kamala's chances as, say, Gorgonian.

Yeah, I'm at 80%+ Harris will win. I've seen absolutely nothing to dissuade me from that and a lot to support it.

what you don't understand is the leopards eating your face is preferable to becoming a nation that does more for non citizens and convicts than law abiding citizens

I think we all agree the odds of "stolen" if she wins, are 100%.
Just very quickly because I'm at work: the polls don't show new voters very well, and the demographics of new voters this time around heavily favor women and minorities. The polls are already showing Harris leading without this factored in, and I think that will make a huge difference. We've already seen this happen once (no red wave) and I fully expect to see it again.
Add to that Trump publicly embarrassing himself over and over recently along with Harris having very strong performances, and I have just enough faith in humanity left to think that will only add to the margin of victory.
I can also add quickly that this recent deluge of Trump favoring polls mostly comes from right wing slanted polls.

This "doing more for convicts" narrative is total bullshit. If the state deprives someone of their freedom, they deprive that person of the ability to support themselves and therefore have certain obligations when doing so like feeding them, clothing them, housing them, and yes, providing absolutely bare bones healthcare. It's either that or execute all criminals or let them walk free. I assure you nobody is clamouring to get locked up for the excellent benefits package. None of this is controversial.

The issue is they were told to be upset about gender affirming care for people in prison so they are, even though this exact same policy was in effect during trump's presidency and no one cared.

This might shock you, but it doesn't matter why you deprive someone of their freedom (or even who it is), once you do so, you have a duty of care.
i think your perspective is that of someone who takes rights to healthcare as a given
i agree, we should have free universal healthcare - but we currently don't
2/3 of all personal bankruptcies in america are due to medical bills
over 500,000 americans each year lose everything because of unforeseen medical costs
currently 28% of the american population is delaying necessary medical treatment because they literally can't afford it
one in eight americans is on food stamps
due to our culture which stems from a combination of the puritans who were religious nutjobs that believed if they took a break they'd become tools of the devil
exhibit a - new england is criss crossed with tens of thousands of miles of stone walls in the middle of nowhere - these walls served no purpose whatsoever, it neither prevented people nor livestock from crossing and is 100x more labor intensive than other property line marking systems (they are rarely used to mark the property lines) - they were simply built because the original settlers were already clearing out stones for farmland or pasture and instead of just dumping to the side they painstakingly built them up into walls which served no purpose whatsoever other than consume their free time which prevented the devil from causing them to do something evil like masturbate
along with our wild west "there's 40 acres and a mule out there waiting for you if you're just willing to go out and settle it" - we have a perverse understanding of not only where one is in our society (majority of poor americans genuinely believe themselves to be middle class) to where we literally say things like "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" as a positive thing where "hey you just need to work and you can lift yourself up" when in fact the origin of the phrase is intended to mock those people and their absurd notions of self elevation through hard work as it's literally impossible to pull oneself up that way
but we're dumb and poor so over time it morphed from mockery into a genuine statement
we should have leaders campaigning for free healthcare for all citizens - not simply for those who've committed felonies and even worse, people who aren't even americans
