Did not know that, thanks. I assumed they were antonyms in this context.

Wait I thought you didn't admit error?????

by d2_e4 k

No. What is the question you think I asked? I literally quoted for you in that post, so I am confused as to why you think those Google search results have anything to do with it. My question did not include the term "quality of life", so I am somewhat confused here. Additionally, the second post you quoted was your post that my question was in response to.

what is your question then?

by housenuts k

yes it's Fox vs CNN + CBS + NBC + ABC + NYT +++

i love seeing this line of whining because it is basically an admission of minority status.

there is a reason why it is "Fox vs CNN + CBS + NBC + ABC + NYT +++"...it is a simple one. It's called having MINORITY view points and opinions.

Luckily....MAJORITY RULES...something you big originalist Constitution buffs on the right should certainly understand.

so in a nutshell....pound sand.

given their status, kamala should give forgivable loans to Fox

by rickroll k

what is your question then?

Is Kamala advocating for categorising gender affirming care as medically necessary, or is she simply saying that if it is deemed medically necessary independently of anything she does, then it should be provided in prisons?

i am quite positive they take advantage of whatever government handouts are available to them. likely better than others given their "entertainment" status

by rickroll k

hard disagree with this - i would often view you as a voice of reason but it seems like now you're more focused "anything but trump" and it's hurt your perspective to the point where you can view my mainstream viewpoint as "extreme" simply because it's something that trump is campaigning hard upon

"Voice of reason" and "anything but Trump" are the same thing.

Depends what her polling says

a few years ago i would have agreed with this

a few years ago i would have agreed with this

But a couple of prison inmates in California got fake tits and that's changed the whole calculus.

by rickroll k

this is the specific answer

she explicitly says "transition treatment is a medical necessity"

hence why i didn't take this question as "ignored" because i did take the time to answer it for you

You very well may be in the majority with respect to state funded medical care related to gender for inmates. On the broader proposition, your position is out of line with the federal government and most state governments for the last several decades, including the federal government under Trump, W., HW, and Reagan.

My position on Trump has been entirely consistent from the moment he announced his candidacy in 2015. I always thought he was a terrible person who would be a terrible president. His actual tenure as president certainly did nothing to change my view.

His intuition was correct on a few issues, but he is far too self-absorbed, and cares far too little about democratic principles, to be anywhere near the White House.

In short, if you see more daylight between our respective views on Trump than you did in 2015-2016, it's because your views about him have changed, not mine

could have been lambos, fact they are tits is immaterial

I guess this proves my point

by Gorgonian k

Wait I thought you didn't admit error?????

Admitting error in a purely factual sense was not what I was referring to. Although, d2-e2 is making a pretty strong attempt to do just that by downplaying Kamala's association with the D party of California, which is obviously behind the classification of transgender surgeries as medical necessities for prisoners.

i agree with all of this, we are fully in agreement here

but in the past he wasn't running against people who campaigned for free handouts for non citizens and incarcerated felons - that's a very extreme difference

i kind of feel like the extremist on the left have taken advantage of the "anything but trump" mentality in recent years to really come out of the closet and openly push all their wackoo ideas knowing it won't receive the pushback it should receive

From the standpoint of making and parrying arguments without saying something either logically wrong or silly, I have reached the point where I have no choice but to move d2_e4 up to 12th.

by rickroll k

i think your perspective is that of someone who takes rights to healthcare as a given

i agree, we should have free universal healthcare - but we currently don't

2/3 of all personal bankruptcies in america are due to medical bills
over 500,000 americans each year lose everything because of unforeseen medical costs

currently 28% of the american population is delaying necessary medical treatment because they literally can't afford it

one in eight americans is on food stamps

due to our culture which stem

I like your posts but this is a lot of optics cope. Kamala supports universal healthcare, Trump supports private healthcare. Separately, it clearly makes sense that we provide healthcare for people in detention. Then on top of that you want to introduce a separate issue of whether or not Kamala supports a universal coverage plan that would also cover illegal immigrants. Many countries already allow nonresidents to access their public healthcare services.

You can list off all these issues with the healthcare system but at the end of the day, many people don’t want the government interfering with their private health insurance. So I don’t think you’re necessarily right that people want a M4A universal healthcare model. And on top of that, I have no idea what the distribution of these issues are and since many states have different types of entitlements it’s hard to know what those figures really represent.

by Rococo k

I guess this proves my point

my position on trump is unchanged

Ok, thank you.

As I've said a few times, I agree that this gets into ridiculous territory once you start giving prisoners fake tits etc. I won't comment on treatments like hormones, as Gorgonian pointed out, those might well work to decrease suicide rates or whatnot.

The broader point here I think is that you just look at this from your already existing perspective of "prisoners should just be left to rot anyway" and see red here whereas for most people, who just accept that the cost of funding prisons is what we pay to live in the sort of society that the majority of us want to live in, it's just another example of federal overspending. Because we already accept that we need to spend money on certain things for prisoners, it doesn't hold these connotations of "treating prisoners better than law abiding citizens" that it does for you, so it doesn't become a matter of principle, just one of many examples of poor spending decisions by those in government.

Ok. What I wrote above is entirely consistent with the posts that provoked you, but whatever.

Lol. Your overall view of my posting is probably heavily coloured by the 95%+ of it prior to May this year, during which time I usually had a rather low blood % in my alcohol stream.

It's in the IQ thread.

you're not wrong, but the starting point should be the uninsured who are both citizens and not in prison - it should not be prisoners and illegal immigrants

i'd sooner continue a broken system than one where outsiders and the dregs of society are the only ones who materially benefit
