Yeah, I always went with the, "well, who's gonna die?" position when people nattered about deadlines.

That doesn't mean being indiligent, of course. Try your best, but if the timeline doesn't work out, it doesn't.

Of course, there are jobs that the deadline is firm for very good reasons, and must be respected. I just was never in one.

lol-

Y’all want some stress? I’ve got a few restaurants I can sell you…

(Never had a day without endless deadlines)

When I retired as a VP for an international consulting company the first guy I ever hired asked me for an endorsement to replace me. He had a lot of assets - great with marketing services and loved by clients. Problem was he never met a deadline for reports and usually not close. And the President who'd come in was a stickler for deadlines. I told my buddy he would not last 6 months in the job.

Never want to be in the food service business again. I've toyed with the idea of opening a brewery after I retire from the Air Force, but no restaurant. Maybe I'll rent out space to someone who wants to sell food to my customers, but I'm not running it.

Stress ain't good. I've been very fortunate to find myself at a job / situation for 30 years where I've never had a single deadline; things get done when they get done.

Try not to sweat it too much G, if possible?

I have the same attitude, which is why I was never meant to be at a law firm. I worked more hours than you is a brag that is prevalent.

deadlines are ok. artificial deadlines can fkc off. I don't know why people do that

Prolly an old man yells at cloud moment, but I can't believe I can't replace the "spooky" Halloween lights that burned out because the frickin stores have nothing but Christmas stuff already! F off!

There should be a law against selling Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving.

Halloween is the gayest, most ridiculous day of the year and all you adults who think about it, plan for it and enjoy it are an utter embarrassment.

There, I said it

Hot girl Halloween costumes, though.

You should know to buy your Halloween stuff right after the 4th of July.

in colorado, going to spend a few days in colorado springs, my school having a big 150 year party

then perhaps checking out cripple creek, then black hawk and beyond

As of when I left in 2017, Cripple Creek was pretty dead, but the games at the Midnight Rose were very soft. C-Springs also has a thriving homegame circuit. APD might be able to get you the hookup.

Black Hawk casinos much more rocking than CC's

I'm not one to kiss and tell.

Winner of the trick-or-treaters-who-came-to-our-door costume contest was the Tay-Tay from "You Belong With Me" video. Close second, the squid.

A+ post.

Somebody used to get pencils and raisins in his Trick or Treat bag.

IDK if slim and zollie are still around, but The Cure just released a new single, and it is surprisingly good.

driving an old volvo that still has a cd player

cleaned out all my stuff that was in storage at my parents house - this includes my old cd collection

the a list of cds are all missing, presumably in a binder somewhere, i vaguely recall forgetting it on an airplane but don't know if that predated that or not - perhaps they may soon be revealed

so been listening to a lot of the "b list" of albums i had as a teen

some interesting takes

presidents of the united states of america are still a one album wonder, tossed it in, didn't realize it wasn't the one i liked, tried a second listen, still absolute garbage

not even embedding it's so bad

this album which is in my pantheon and something i listen to regularly, has not held up, was very disappointing to listen to on this road trip - i still hold it in high regards, just think that i'm probably going in a different stage in life right now - also recently ate mushrooms so perhaps that changed the perspective

i can't believe i forgot how much i liked this album - it still holds up, been rocking to it today

wallflowers bringing down the horse still holds up

rem up is actually good

rem is one of my favorite bands, but i distinctly remember buying this when it came out and listening to it perhaps 2-3 times before perma-shelving it - teenage rick wasn't ready - first track is still a terrible song that should have never existed though

Pretty big storm in the mountains Sunday night thru Monday.

83 trick-or-treaters last night. Think that was fairly big number although I actually expected more but the rain may have dampened things. Not sure if it is a culture thing or what but was shocked at the amount of kids with no costume whatsoever (again, rain? still, booooooo) and not even a candy bag (and just an empty outstretched hand, lol). "Happy Halloween" outnumbered the "Happy Diwali"... but not by much.

I just can't get into this. Bored at work today so might give the album a listen to see if anything is iPodable (though my expectations are low).

Enjoying the new Cure stuff but I can't see myself ever choosing to listen to their new music over the classic old records (of which there are many). Still, cool to see a band like that still doing things the right way.

Rickroll - that Hole record holds up really well to me (although I was born in 1991 so it's before my time I guess). One of the only grunge records that I still regularly listen to.

First time hearing that song (unless it was played in concert last tour?), it's alright, I guess. I'll definitely add the album (if I haven't already) to my Spotify library.

FWIW, big fan since Fascination Street. Last year's tour was the best big format concert I saw (I see a lot of concerts).
