I understand why you, and the white house, are trying to re-write what he said because it is so bad, but unfortunately it was caught on video. There are too many Americans that don't drink the kool-aid and will remember this.
I think this all comes back to how way too many dems try to vilify all repubs politician and voters and you so rarely see that from repubs. Just the other day a good friend of mine said she would never forgive anyone she knows in real life who votes for trump. I think the more Dems keep pushing this "repubs are evil, nazis, etc." non-sense the more you are going to see people fleeing the Dems and going to the party of acceptance and inclusion.
inflation came out at 2.1 in the USA.
It's insane to think the USA economy is close to Goldilock (target inflation, low unemployment, raising real wages, stock market at all time high) and an absolute majority of American voters think things are going badly in the economy
I didn't think this needs to be explained, but here goes.
If inflation is a normal 2% before a president takes office and then jumps to 50% in back to back years before going back to 2% the president can say inflation is back to normal, but that doesn't change the fact that groceries, rent, etc is still around double of what it otherwise would have been without those previous years of high inflation.
Just because inflation is back to normal now doesn't mean previous high inflation doesn't still negatively effect people.

Women are dominating early voting in the 2024 election so far, prompting concern among some of former President Donald Trump's allies.
Women are outpacing men in casting ballots nationally and in all seven battleground states, according to NBC News' tracker of early ballot returns. Of the more than 58 million mail-in and early in-person votes that have been cast nationally, 54 percent were cast by women and 44 percent by men.
In the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and North Carolina, there is at least a 10-point gap between men and women in the early vote. The gender gap was widest in Pennsylvania as of 2 a.m. ET on Thursday, with women accounting for about 56 percent of the early vote, and men for about 43 percent.

Nazism contextualized the dangers of fervent nationalist racism. History often repeats itself.
And thats completely ignoring the fact that pre nazism in the USA wasn't some paragon of culture or success. The great depression was quite literally the last pre-nazi moment in the US
