Whether he believes it or not, the president of united states shouldn't just say random ****, especially if its not true.

I don't disagree with this, but it has nothing to do with my point.

The good news with Trump is you've got a reasonable chance of him getting so damn senile in the next handful of months that you could just tell him that he became emperor of Earth.

by d2_e4 k

Even if we stipulate to everything you're saying, it makes him exceptionally skilled at being a demagogue who appeals to the lowest common denominator, and if that's your position then you won't get any argument from me. This doesn't preclude his being a complete idiot who doesn't understand basic stuff about the world around him, like how gases escape from his locked bathroom into the atmosphere as one basic example.

Quoting Tien's post as well as I think this both posts make similar points that

not only a demagogue, that is needed to win elections (the primaries in 2016 and the national elections).

but he also navigated a world where people cut your throat with a smile while having breakfast for fun easily against some of the most vile people around: the leaders of the RNC first, and then of the DNC. using all of their power to destroy him, and they failed.

What we witnessed was truly incredible. like a glitch in the matrix.

can't call that an idiot. you don't beat the most skilled pros at their game unless you are a 10 sigma person.

a). He thinks that already.
b). What problem does it fix?

by Luciom k

some maga elements existed.

I remember videos from the late 80s or early 90s of trump claiming the rest of the world is ripping the USA off with trade and with NATO.

can't provide a link rn but I can tomorrow

I'm talking more about his behavior and how he goes about communicating his views rather than the views themselves.

He's above average but he is no genius. There were master planners behind this movement. Trump started out as a hand-picked "imperfect instrument" and ran with it. Bannon knew the Democrats weren't the real opponents in 2015. Trump's strategy has lived and breathed on beating the media and that is where he has been truly successful.

EDIT: I mean honestly, Kamala Harris!? That's like giving the election to him. If the media even did half as cover for him as they did his political opponents it would have been a Reagan-tier blowout.

Damn son, we got a bit of orange hero worship going on there? Dude won and now you're his biggest fan?

I'm fully aware of all that. I don't think the election was rigged, but I also don't blame anyone for being skeptical about it or questioning it.

I don't blame asking questions. but tbh these questions have been asked and answered for a long while.

especially now that trump won decisively, let's put that to rest. if the democrats were capable of fixing elections *while republicans governed the nation* (2020) they would surely be able to do that more *when they are in government (2024).

they didn't in 2024 so we know they couldn't have done it in 2020, given they had more chances to rig the game in this year.

While this may seem like it would be persuasive, that would require MAGA chodes to use basic logic, so I'm afraid this is where your plan fails. Just think someone like Playbig or Brian James here, you honestly think they're persuaded by reason?

Fair enough, but answering still needs to be done for questioning the questioners and tarring them as criminals and opponents of democracy. You don't "threaten democracy" by casting scrutiny on its processes, you strengthen it.

EDIT: If the Democrats wanted to tear this election apart, power to them, go for it. I want to undo fraud no matter where it comes from, and if they find it, we're all better off.

hero? I compared him to a pedophile.

I don't forget and I don't forgive.

I will never forget or forgive Trump mocking a disabled journalist who dared to say stuff he disliked on national TV.

I won't forget the insane unprovoked and unjustified war on vaping he waged (or allowed a psychopath at the FDA to wage) in his first term.

I won't forget the tariffs he abusively put against Italian cheeses either with the excuse of the Airbus controversy.

and I care about Ukrainians and about putting our enemies in their place and I am disgusted at the idea Trump will let Putin take the cake and eat it with impunity.

That said democrats are a lot worse (Trump judge picks are exceptionally better than any democrat pick ever, it's far better to completely disregard climate change than to spread climate apocalyptic porn like the democrats do and so on), and an evil person can still be objectively described as an exceptional one if he achieves objectively exceptional goals like Trump did

War on vaping and tariffs on Italian cheese on par with Ukraine and kowtowing to Putin, and ignoring climate change far better than floating worst case scenarios. Quite the eclectic mix of grievances you got there.

You mean the questioners who stormed the capitol and wanted to hang the VP? I mean, how unfair to tar them as criminals, they were just there to ask some questions.

by d2_e4 k

I'll admit that I remain skeptical (just based solely on the overwhelming volume of arrant dumb****ery that comes out of his mouth and twitter feed), but I can see your reasoning and thanks for taking the time to respond.

I'm not saying he's a genius. His intelligence level is hard to gauge, and I don't think he's as smart as Bill Clinton or Thomas Jefferson; he's just not a dimwit. I have similar opinions about GWB, but in that case, it was more about fumbling words and having a childish disposition.

vaping is a lot more important for human health than climate change is.

and putting petty tariffs on an historic ally which fully bent the knee to the American empire and allowed american supremacy on its soil out of loyalty many times, up to accepting US conducted assassinations of prominent Italians (Moro and Mattei) and the massacre of Italian civilians in the failed attempt to kill Gheddafi (Ustica) is aberrant

C'mon, you can try harder than that.

I mean exposing people who actually commit election fraud. Imagine if attorneys investigating these cases were prevented from doing so because they were tarred as "election deniers."

There were good reasons to be skeptical in 2020 for reasons mentioned above. Investigations start with suspicion. Silencing suspicion isn't good for anyone, really.

Just so I understand your position, are you saying his meandering monologues with incomplete sentences continuously transitioning into tangential or totally irrelevant lines are all staged? Would you agree that if not staged, this sort of speech is indicative of someone with very low cognitive function?

Here are some examples:

"Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible."

“When I say insane asylums, and then I say, Doctor Hannibal Lecter, does anybody know? They go crazy. They say, ‘Oh, he brings up these names out of—’ Well, that’s genius. Right? Doctor Hannibal Lecter. There’s nobody worse than him.

Silence of the Lambs. Who the hell else would even remember that? I have a great memory, but they always hit me. I don’t bring it up too much because they have to take such a— ‘He brought up Hannibal Lecter. What does that have to do with this? What is it!?’

It has everything to do with it, right? He was…

So I’ve done something for you that I haven’t done in 20 speeches. I brought up Doctor Hannibal Lecter, and we’re allowing him, you watch, you watch—these fake people will say, ‘Again, he brought up Hannibal Lecter, has absolutely nothing to do…’

You know I do the weave, right? The weave. It’s genius. You bring up Hannibal Lecter, you mention insane asylum. Hannibal Lecter. You go out. Now, there’ll be a time in life where the weave won’t finish properly at the bottom and then we can talk. But right now it’s pure genius.

I have an uncle, my uncle, Uncle John, my father’s brother—41 years at MIT, longest-serving professor—has so many degrees, he didn’t know what the hell to do with them all, in the most complicated.

I understand a lot of this stuff, you know, I believe in that. Like, I mean, Jack Nicklaus is not gonna produce a bad golfer. Right? You know, that’s the way it works. It’s just one of those things, and it’s in the family, and it’s whatever.”

My mother went to remove campaign signs from public property today (not allowed in TX), and the lefty bastards booby-trapped them with razors. Moral party my ass

What is this list, and where does it come from? Who was convicted and of what?

cancer free nicotine intake increases lifespans significantly TODAY.

3 sigma scenarios climate change don't decrease life expectancy meaningfully in 2100 (first world countries)

You know people can choose to not smoke, right? And I say this as a 2-3 pack a day smoker. If climate change affected only those who refused to believe in it or do anything about it, I'd agree with you.

[snip]

What's your point? Is it that there were some isolated cases of voter fraud discovered, or is it something else? That's a conviction for voter fraud, not for asking questions. Who was tarred as a criminal for asking questions?

Use your words instead of posting context-less images of lists of names and court paperwork, thanks in advance.
