Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
See, this is the problem with people like you. Some prick could pick up a megaphone and say "I am going to put cyanide in your food to keep it safe and healthy" and you just nod along because all you heard is the "safe and healthy" part. This is why morons shouldn't be given a vote.
The left used to claim that the USA should ban various ingredients that are banned in the EU and in some other countries for food because of their effects on human health.
Now that it's a guy who endorsed Trump that does propose that, it becomes "let's put cyanide in the food" i guess.

You keep responding to me with arguments about something "the left" did. I couldn't give a **** where "the left" touched you, I am not on "the left" any more than I am on "the right". Try and use argumentation that is not completely dependent on labels to explain what you are talking about.
Because we've had a bull market pretty much since Obama, except for Covid and a hiccup in 2022?
Which is why it's kinda sensible to shift risk off unless additional very bullish events happen that can keep the market at this redicolous levels.
I mean walmart has a current PE of 44 and a forward PE of 31, unless something happens that significantly increases future revenue & earnings how the hell can you justify those numbers? and it's like that for a lot of staples.
Multiples are insane, and whatever you think of specific narratives about technology which could justify , maybe, some names that innovate dramatically to have absurd evaluations because they could make trillions in the future, for the rest, how the hell do you justify the multiples?
Now trump winning a trifect is bullish (at least for the short term) just because enough people in business, and people with money, think it is. Maybe they are all collectively wrong but it makes sense to stay in with that sentiment around, even at absurd valuations

You understand that my problem wasn't with the proposal, right? I didn't even look at the proposal. My problem is with stupid people unquestioningly accepting something as a fait accompli because someone who has absolutely zero expertise in the subject but they like him for other reasons said so. And these people are basically exclusively conservatives. This is exactly what I mean when I say that stupid people skew conservative. It's stuff like this.

Yea it's a bit odd. Sure someone on the left said something at some time. But Obama or Biden didn't put that person in charge of the FDA. You can't govern through hypocrisy. You've got to actually make the case.

That some of the changes Kennedy is asking for aren't absurd at all *for the perspective of someone who wants the government to regulate stuff* (so , not me). Some of the stuff he wants to ban in food is banned in most first world countries already ok?
As for vaccines what he has said was that he wants to remove mandates, which again is far less dangerous than other stuff he talked about for years. He also said he has no intention to try to ban any vaccine currently approved.
So, opposition to Kennedy plan should be precise, specific, topic by topic, and a blanket criticism of anything he says just because he says that will look very stupid when it comes from people who actually asked for the same stuff for some topics years ago.
RFK Jr. starts fleshing out his vision for Trump’s second term
existing federal agencies he intends to target
clearing out departments of federal workers who he believes
haven’t been doing their jobs — ‘entire departments’ in some cases
Kennedy said the nutrition departments at the Food and Drug Administration
‘have to go’ because its workers are ‘not doing their job.’
In the same interview, he added, “I think fluoride is on its way out.”
The FDA needs to be totally cleaned out, they're not protecting our health. And about a 3rd of the drugs they "approve" end up getting taken off shelves and banned due to too many adverse effects including death (the percentage might even be higher, d2 or MC please check this out and let us know). And the food pyramid we've had for 50 years is one of the worst things for people in the world. They shouldn't be telling people to eat 11 servings of breads and cereals per day, 5 servings of fruits and 5 servings of vegetable while saying to use fats very sparingly. It's totally backwayrds, Bread and cereal should be avoided and people should be eating only meats, eggs, some dairy and a lot of natural animal fats like butter.
The reason people are so fat and diabetes and other diseases are so rampant (and the reason why a lot of older people need walkers and are tired all day) is because of the "standard american diet". And this is easily proven by the hundreds of thousands of people who've switched to only eating meats and animal fats (and nothing at all else) and their type 2 diabetes gets cured as well as every psychological issue (from mild to severe, in 100% of cases. But they rather people stay sick because it feeds the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical industry) but more importantly is these people feel better than they've ever felt in their lives with an indescribable amount of energy and a feeling of well being. Their mind is also clear as a bell and they sleep great at night.
People are being mislead by the FDA because of money and greed. And fluoride is their way of keeping everyone dumb and submissive to them. Use non fluorinated tooth past and definitely don't drink from a water source that's still putting fluoride in the water (it wasn't for your kids teeth).

Man take fluoride. Portland , Oregon, an ultraleftist stronghold, is the most populous city in the country that DOES NOT fluoridate it's water ok?
Where is the violent outcry nationally for this purportedly absurd choice that kills people and bla bla bla? nowhere? well then how can you criticize kennedy from saying something that democratic authorities in Portland agree with?

Ok, but I'm not seeing where the dogs and cats fit into my diet. Is that a replacement for the soya beans and tofu, or is it a side?
Every single person who's ever said this has been on the right but either didn't know it or didn't want to admit it.
Oh yeah, for sure, I'm probably more on the right. I've always maintained that I'm probably a tory at heart, just anti-Trump. Or, you know, pro-decency, if you like. I've never tried to pass myself off as anything other than what I am, either here or on UP.

I mean I can because I can criticize Portland as well. Not having fluoride in the water leads to more cavities than otherwise. Why Portland isn't doing it, I don't know, but it's a bad decision and I wouldn't want them in charge of the FDA. I hear you, it seems unfair that somehow the left gets to criticize Trump for putting Kennedy in charge (if he does, he won't) when it hasn't got every single person in every single place in lockstep conformity, but understand that focusing on hypocrisy is leading you to advocate for bad decisions. I'm sure the FDA has some problems. I'm sure there are different ways that they could be resolved, but I'd rather hear that from someone who knows what they're talking about, and not some rich dilatant. He doesn't know up from down and could cause harm to those who need medication and devices to be safe and secure.

Agree
I'm not anti gmo but many gmos are banned in Europe
They hand been saying BHA and BHT cause cancer since the 70s but still use it
I don't see how him banning these things will hurt us besides maybe causing slight price increases

Ok, that's honest. I was worried for one moment you were going to do the usual right winger masquerading as a neutral thing that some tossers in the UK thread keep doing.
Also some people who say they are on the left are also on the right but don't want to admit it eg UP.
Did you know they're considering becoming a private forum like their offshoot SPE, because they see themselves as radicals likely to be pursued by Trump, as if they're the French Resistance.
LOOOOOOOOOOL
No it's not only that. If for example you're fervently pro Capitalist, pro defend the borders and pro increase military spending you can say you're as centrist as often as you like but you are indisputably on the right.
Pro defend the boarders and pro military spending makes you right wing? I wonder what China, Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam, etc felt about those issues…
My weird predictions:
1) SC will make a ruling stating that discriminating against LGBT people is protected under 1st amendment
2) Dems will retake house + senate in 2026 but there will be some color of the law attempt to prevent them from taking the house
3) Trump will install a political pick into the fed
4) Trump will attempt to dissolve Dept of Education but will be blocked by supreme court since it probably takes an act of congress to dissolve it
5) We will face a stock market crash within his first two years
6) Congress will still support Ukraine over Trump’s objections
7) There will be a bombing against Iran within his first year in office to attempt to prevent them from developing a nuke
8) Saudi Arabia will receive weapons deals from us and rekindle the war against the Houthis
9) Tariffs will cause immediate inflation that will be blamed on Biden’s horrible economic policies and no one in his party will blame Trump. This will cause the blue wave I talked about above.
10) RFK Jr won’t get much done before he is fired
11) Trump will not release any of the classified documents he promised to release
12) Trump will attempt to lower energy prices by increasing production but producers will refuse because it won’t be profitable for them
13) Trump will threaten to invade Mexico
Also some people who say they are on the left are also on the right but don't want to admit it eg UP.

One of my issues with the left/dems ... and i group them b3cause its factions of both is the party of morality talk that that always appeared bullshit you dig a litle deeper.
Now its to the point that your moral to thr latinos but want to deport them if they voted trump or hating on people who were born between 46-64 b3cause some of em might be bad - and ask be suprised when the dont vote for you. That isnt morality. In respect, i dont think ive personally seen you and other lefties induldge in much of that but many certainly do.
I love the people who think he will govern like a normal president. He will be a dictator from day 1 and things will get really bad. Here's what's actually going to happen:
1. The great brain drain begins (has already begun?). The top people in most fields will flee to other countries. Combined with RJK in charge of health and Elon in charge of commerce, there will be noticeable shift away from science and towards conspiracy.
2. The media will whitewash everything Trump does for fear of retribution, and the few who stand up to him will either have to flee the country or will suffer a tragic fall from an 8th story window. All forms of media that disparage Trump will be wiped from the internet and the poster will be questioned/tortured/sent to Gas Camp. Morning news will be full of stories about how well our economy is doing and puff pieces about life as a member of the Trump family.
3. All orders will be executive orders. Congress will basically be for show only - they won't actually have any task in the Trump government.
4. A natural disaster will happen in a major city in 2025 or 2026, and Trump will not provide any federal aid because they voted for Kamala (or for Biden in 2020).
5. Abortion and gay marriage will be banned nationally by mid 2025. Trans people will start disappearing around the same time for their free stay at Gas Camp. Many women will die of treatable birth complications. The women who are caught seeking underground abortions will be sent to Gas Camp.
6. Parents who have adopted children will have their children taken away and returned to the birth mother. If the parents fight, they will be sent to Gas Camp.
7. POCs, gay people, Jews, single straight men, parents of adopted children, and women will be fired from their jobs and the standard legal avenues for job discrimination will be stripped away. They will be forced to work the menial labor jobs that immigrants did before they were all deported or hung.
8. Many POCs, Jews, and LGBT people will be lynched and hung in small towns and crowds will gather to watch in a festival-like atmosphere. Food trucks will advertise $5 carnitas tacos.
9. Due to dwindling resources, RFK Jr. will quietly issue an order that hot dogs and other sausages now contain up to 20% human meat. This will not be announced to the public, and people will speculate, but anyone who posts conspiracy theories will be eliminated. Trump supporters on the 4th of July will notice that their bratwursts taste markedly different than last year, and blame it on the Democrats ruining our country.
10. Russia and USA will form an alliance and force Ukraine to give up all of its land by the end of 2025. Trump will be so enamored with/scared of Putin that he will agree to dual citizenship between Russians and Americans and will allow Russian families to move to America, as long as they support the cause of a white America.
11. At some point, POCs and all the endangered people of America will rise up in a revolution, but will be quickly quashed by the American and Russian militias that patrol our streets. The revolution is more successful in Portland than other places, but ends when a nuclear bomb is dropped on Portland.
12. Russia and USA will team up to eliminate Europe, begin implementing their all white society there, and open up new Gas Camps. All European countries will be under Russian/American control. Most African countries will be bombed and stripped of their natural resources.
13. Putin will die in 2027 and the USA will make the day a national holiday.
14. The stock market will be at an ATH in 2028.
15. By 2028, most Trump voters will realize they made a mistake, but by now it's too late. Trump has gotten the Supreme Court to rule that elections are unconstitutional (or something), and that he will be passing the torch off to Barron, who at 25, will be able to lead our great nation for the next 60 years.

It’s not boomers that lost Kamal the white house from what I saw, it was GenX that predominantly voted against her.
